Motor City Tattoos Review

I love this place. I've gotten many tattoos from here, and every time I go, I feel welcome and end up loving what I got. Day was the last person I had work done by, and she did amazing. I get so many compliments on my Adventure Time piece she did. 10/10

Kyle did some piercings today and was amazing, pain free!

After having a bad experience at a beauty spot I decided to try Motor City. Kyle pierced my 6 month old daughter's ears quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately I changed her earrings from the originals and my daughter kept pulling them out. When I called for guidance Kyle was fantastic. He explained he would put an earring with a flat back. My daughter wouldn't be able to pull it out. It's been two weeks and she has stopped playing with them and no longer tries to pull them out. I was worried going in as my daughter is now 2 and doesn't keep a mask on very well. The establishment takes your temperature and follows all the safety recommendations.

Took my daughter for a piercing today,it was done by Kyle,very friendly and helpful,,very knowledgeable.Would recommend this place to friends and family.Would get another piercing done there.

Very disappointed! Had my belly button pierced here and had multiple issues. First, it was pierced way too high, piercer did not show me where he was going to pierce, he just went for it. Secondly, I was given no aftercare instructions (luckily this was not my first piercing and I knew what to do to take care of it, but if it was my first piercing I would've been in trouble). I had to go to the shop to get the jewelry changed as it was too short and prevented the piercing from healing; even with the new long piece he put it, it was still too short. Ultimately, had to remove it with having it for less than 2 months! Waste of money!

Lorena helped me to severely reduce the hyperpigmentation I had on my breast reduction scar. She was extremely knowledgeable and her laser machine is top of the line! Not only was she able to reduce my brown spots but she was able to help me whiten and flatten my scaring with her sublative machine. Thank you Lorena! You ve helped a young women feel good in her own skin again :) I would highly recommend Motor City for anyone seeking laser or tattoo removal!

My piercer was really fast and efficient, and was really helpful and patient when I felt a little dizzy and consequently had a panic attack. Really nice experience and the piercings are perfect! Would definitely recommend and come back!

Went in for a piercing. Large studio with a variety of artists.

They are kind, friendly, inviting, willing to work with you, a great atmosphere and are very informative. Prices are fabulous and fair. I've had 14 peircings done there. Because almost every time I go to visit I usually leave with a new peircing(s) somewhere, thank you to Kyle for that ;) This far I've had a tattoo done by #benoitdelongchamp my left full frontal shin from under the knee down to the ankle and a slight wrap to the sides. I could not have asked for anything other than what I got. It is phenomenal!!! People were stopping me all summer, gushing over my tattoo. It was a 7hr sit. So it was a long day. But super super happy we got'er done in one sitting and she's a beauty. Sad winter, wearing pants. LOL. I tell everyone who asks me about my peircings or tattoo (that I am still gushing over everyday) that Motorcity Tattoos is THE BEST place to go. You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!

Got my tragus pierced here. They did such a clean job. Was really happy with it. They offered several gemstone options as well. They also offered hoops but recommended to go with the stud. Definitely will be coming here for my other piercings

I got mine done yesterday and Kevin was so good in his work, being first time getting tattoo done i had my own doubts and Kevin was very gentle. I liked the experience and will surely return for another one in future!

I went in extremely nervous. Justin walked me through the tragus and daith piercings and made me feel comfortable. This is an extremely clean shop and the staff is so friendly. I would definately recommend this place to everyone I know.

I recently had a tattoo done at this place of business and regret it every day. During the consultation he presented me a stencil with the font & style of the tattoo that we agreed upon and told me that he could create. The resulting tattoo lines were crude & thick lines that I feel wrecked the tattoo. None of the 3 separate butterflies look like the stencil at all. When I returned to show them the results, the owner had 2 other artists look at his work said neither felt they could help me fix it. They said it was made with too thick of black needles and that apprentices usually don't know how to use thin needles. None of that was indicated to me in advance at the consultation. I knew the tattoo artist was learning the trade but believed in him and Motor City that it would be done right. They made me sign an agreement that since he was still learning it may not be perfect for a reduced fee. The reality is that no other artists checked in on the process, in fact he was having a conversation with the others (including the owner) while working on my tattoo. I followed the tattoo care instructions that they provided. I did do a light work out a few days later but nothing strenuous. (I ran on a treadmill...) I am disappointed that I felt like this person was competent to provide the tattoo as well as the stencil he prepared for me. I am disappointed that if they have enough concern for a disclaimer that they knew he was still learning, that they didn't have someone check in on his work or at the very least not potentially distract him during the process. I am disappointed that when I returned to see if they could help that they couldn't. They made me feel like I was to blame for trusting their employee. They made me feel like one trip to the gym somehow was to blame, They did offer laser correction for 50% reduced fee, but that still adds costs to me and added pain. I feel that they should better stand behind their customer. I have to look at the tattoo every day and wish I never went there. I agreed to a stencil that was everything I wanted but didn't get. Without prejudice, these are just my opinions, of which I am entitled to..

Clean, friendly, professional. Took my daughter there to get her ears pierced. She was a nervous wreck but the person who pierced her ears made her feel so comfortable and at ease.

I've officially been pierced by each of the piercers at Motor City (with the most recent being Josh) and can conclude that no matter who you're set up with, it'll be 100% satisfaction guaranteed :D. Josh was super friendly and made great conversation making the entire experience very enjoyable, and of course my new lobe piercings look great! Can't wait to go back :)

Got mine and my 5 year old daughters ears pierced here today and absolutely would recommend it to anyone! Very clean, friendly and professional service. They were great with my daughter she felt very comfortable and the piercing was quick and painless very happy with our experience my daughter especially liked her lollipop :) thank you!

They never respond to request for information as I sent a few emails and never received a response. Went to another shop who replied in hours of receiving my email requesting for informaton.

I took my 7-year old here to get her ears pierced after hearing high recommendations and rave reviews. The guys there were amazing! Made us feel right at home, were so friendly to my daughter, talked things through with her simply, and the whole thing was done in just a couple of minutes. Very impressed by the service and the bright, clean studio!

Lorena is a sweetheart! Regardless of how grumpy or miserable you are while getting tattooed she always comes by with a smile to check up on you or just to say hello.

Would recommend to anyone looking for an awesome tattoo. Best advice I could give would be to listen to what they have to say regarding artist choice and be patient for your booking. A tattoo shouldn't be rushed and picking a quality artist from the start is extremely important.

I went in to check out the studio a few weeks back because I wanted to get a couple piercings done and I was very impressed with how clean and welcoming it is. I met with Kyle and he told me how they do the piercings how everything is cleaned. Fast forward to a couple days ago, When i went and got my nose pierced twice. Kyle made me feel very comfortable and told me exactly what he was doing every step of they way. Afterwards he gave me some after care instructions and told me how long it would take to heal. I m extremely happy with this studio and I m even thinking of getting a tattoo done here too. I will definitely be coming back here for any other piercings I want done.

Went here for a few things. First was to get my navel re-pierced, the experience was good, staff is great and makes sure you are ready. They offer snacks if you need it.

Second experience was to get two tattoos done. Overall, the healing process went by effortlessly and the rates aren't terrible. Minus the wait times to get in for tattoos, the entire experience was great.

I have gotten piercings from Motor city since I was in highschool(I am now 22 and graduated college) and I thought it was about time for me to write a review. I have gotten my belly, nose, cartilage, two regular lobe, and hip dermal(S) at Motor City. Not all of these piercings are in anymore since some I removed because I outgrew some. I cannot stress how amazing motor city is. Never have I had any issues with something rejecting, or being pierced crooked or getting infected. I just went recently for my birthday to get a second cartridge done. They are so friendly and professional. Justin is amazing and he will make you feel relaxed. He is an amazing professional and I urge anyone in the area to go to him for piercings. He explains everything in detail both while he is doing it and also about the aftercare. I will never go to another place!

I thought I was walking in for a session of laser tattoo removal and ended up reworking my finger tattoo. Lorena was awesome about going over all of my options whether it be to remove or not. I decided to think about it which she was totally cool with. Trevor had some free time and sat down bouncing ideas back and forth about how we could cover up my current tattoo. He ended up drawing something on my finger free hand and I absolutely love it! What a pleasant surprise after going to shop after shop over the last year trying to find someone to work with me and give a good option. I'm so happy with Trevor's work and bonus, much cheaper option then LTR. Thanks Motor City! 10/10 recommend!

My daughter and I recently had commerative tattoos done and touch up to 5 year old tattoos at Motor City Tattoos. Brandon was absolutely awesome. Not only did he do fantastic work on our new tattoos but brought our old ones back to life. We were there for hours and felt like part of the family when we left. I have been a customer of Motor City Tattoos for over a decade now. I have seen other shops, even gotten tattoo d elsewhere on the odd occasion, but nothing delivers a better overall experience. Safety, the main concern, is top notch. Every member of the team is concerned with the utmost safety and wellbeing of their clients. They have a collection of some of the best artists in Canada, and dollars for doughnuts you aren t going to find a nicer team of people. As long as I have blank canvass available, I will be going back to Motor City for my tattoos.

Myself and my friend went in for a daith piercing by Kyle he was very professional and we didn't feel the piercing at all highly recommend getting pierced by Kyle!

Awesome shop and staff. I've been there myself a few times to get my ear lobes stretched and Kyle was great.

Had to take my daughter in to see him because she was having some issues with her ear cartilage piercing and he was able to remove it safely and offer some great advice to mange the keloid that had formed (different studio and artist for the initial piercing).

Great experience here! Clean and very friendly staff. My sister and I walked in to get piercings done and Kyle took us right away. Was a busy place in general though, it looked like every artist was busy tattooing. From what I saw the tattoos were really great too! It's very open inside the shop, not a lot of privacy but they can provide walls!
I don't know if there is other piercers, but I recommend Kyle. He has a very chill demeaner, which calmed my nerves a lot. He was gentle and fast. You can tell he has plenty of experience! If you see this Kyle, I'll be coming back soon to get more things done by you, I can't wait! :)

I ve been to Motor City multiple times, and I keep going back because the people there genuinely make you feel like you re a part of their family. Justin has done many of my piercings and is now my tattoo artist as well. He did a beautiful collarbone piece for me just before this most recent lockdown, he was very meticulous and it came out better than I could have ever imagined. Can t wait for the next visit!

I was at Motor City Tattoo for a permanent makeup course. Lorena runs her Permanent Makeup academy from there. It's called Canadian Permanent Makeup Academy. I was searching for a place to get certified in PMU where tattooing knowledge was at the core. I wanted to know more about the skill of tattooing than makeup. It was A1! And it's in Oshawa! Lorena gives excellent attention and focus, it was reasonably priced and I learn so much more than I had in other courses. I walked away with a Blood borne pathogen certification. Would you believe I have taken other courses in permanent makeup and I didn't get that certification. It's seriously frightening to think of that. Motor City Tattoo is a clean and professional studio, bright and roomy. The artists are so creative and talented. No one is allowed on the floor without a blood borne pathogen certification.

Best experience I've ever had! Went into Motor City Tattoo Studio for the first time the other day. I was super nervous.....my plan was to get a piercing I've wanted for years. I was warmly welcomed by their receptionist and then introduced to Kyle who would be doing the piercing. Kyle was very understanding and explained everything beforehand including aftercare. Next thing I knew it was all over and wasn't as big a deal as I thought. Many thx to Kyle and all the staff at Motor City. Will be back soon!

I ve now gotten my lobes, naval, conch, and rook all done here and have loved the experience every time. Kyle and Justin are both very friendly and professional. They ve also gone above and beyond by supplying me with some extra jewellery odds and ends free of charge when I explained that I lost mine. I ll never get pierced anywhere else, can t wait for my next visit!
