We could have stayed a week! It was such a great visit. The planetarium should not be missed. You may fall asleep. However when you wake up the night sky over your head will fascinate you. So much we don t know about the world. The universe. Our Galaxy. But what we do know is presented here in a short 45 minutes. The science and engineering interactive displays are so good I couldn t tear myself away. The STOP MOTION FILM CAMERA was definitely my favorite being a film maker!!!!

Perhaps I came at an unlucky time, but for having a name like the Museum of Science and Industry, there was not enough of one for adults or older juveniles and pretty much none of the other.

For the price, most adults will currently find two exhibits, and only one of them worth visiting, and it being rather run down from misuse by the public and what seems to be maintenance trouble. Parts of every exhibit are broken with no indication of when they'll be repaired. Some are malfunctional, while others have plainly been broken by reckless visitors.

The best exhibit of the two was about the human body. It offered a wealth of information about everything from birth to sickness to medical technology and death. Some parts of it were functional. Other parts weren't. The exhibit terminated with a legacy vortex that was supposed to spin small sheets of paper with the names of loved ones about a cylinder. Instead, the fan had managed to push and trap them all in the bottom and scant few ever moved.

The weather section might have seemed a little interesting to kids, but there wasn't a lot for adults looking for mental stimulation, and again, portions of the exhibit were broken.

On the upside, they are apparently working on a 3D printing exhibit that may be interesting

If you have kids, you may find this museum a bit better, but for me, it felt barren, poorly maintained, and questionably managed.

It is nothing spectacular especially if you go with children, we went because we bought the city pass and it is included. It is not that the ugly place is far from it but they are more things for children. Anyway if you have time it will not take more than 2 hours and it is worth it as a general culture

Really sad now because this used to be a favorite place for family time. It's all located in the small building since they are moving (in 5 yrs) to downtown Tampa. There is only a handful of interactive things and no more IMAX dome. Summer time camps going on so kids are just running around everywhere.

Eight of us went to MOSI recently. We had 3 children, 8, 6 and 3, and 5 adults ages 20 to 64. I had not been there in about 10 years. What a disappointment it was! So many of the exhibits were outdated or broken. There was a Hollywood Square type of exhibit with "muppet like" characters answering questions. After the first question expounded on STD's, we left. That was very inappropriate for young children who expected something fun from what appeared to be a cute children's exhibit. One hour at this museum was more than enough. Fortunately, it was early enough in the day, so we went to the Florida Aquarium which was worth every penny and more. Their exhibits had been updated since I was there two years ago and it was better than ever. Save your money, skip MOSI and go to Florida Aquarium.

Great Children's museum with interactive STEM exhibits. You not only see and hear science exhibits but in some cases small it. Beware large school groups on field trips and wear comfortable clothes. You will be there for quite a while.

Very sad to find out the museam isn't fully open at the moment. But wasn't informed of that until I was charged for admission. But not only was I charged admission for me and my wife I was also charged for a child. WE DON'T HAVE CHILDREN. And didn't have and of our nephews or nieces with us. I would like to contacted by them. I've left a voicemail so we'll see.

Be prepared to be there all day because every activity seems to have certain times that they are open and closed. The front desk also did not inform us that the climbing ropes were closed for a private party which was very disappointing to my son who was looking forward to it. It would've been nice to go to a museum and do things at our own pace rather than being stuck there on the museums timeframe as far as different activities being open and closed. Overall, super unimpressed and disappointed bc we either had to skip things all together or rush through them before they closed.

Brenda was so mean to a dad and his son playing (the air thingy game - "hockey") that is in front of the Theater entrance on June 31st while we were waiting to see the Panda's Movie. Wow she was so rude, she yelled at them... Never going back again and will file an official complain. If she can't work with the customers (that by visiting are paying HER SALARY) she needs to find somewhere else to work at. That was out of line and she yelled in front of at least 10 customers. What a Shame MOSI.

Excellent value. Best priced entrance tickets of any museum, zoo, aquarium exhibit in Hillsborough County. Best for kids who are already active readers, probably 2nd-3rd grade and up. My vpk kid's experience was limited. Teenagers seemed to be enjoying it too. Ropes course looked awesome but definitely for the kids who are good at following direction and paying attention.

Its a fun place to do Once with 5 yr olds. There seems to be a lot of wasted space and poorly planned exhibits with a strange flow. The planetarium is not for young kids. The concepts could be explained better, human organs, lift / flight, pressure, ect. If they still had the IMAX it would be worth it.

I agonized over submitting a low review like this. I fondly remember this museum from when I was a kid. Unfortunately they have shut down all but a very small part. It is basically only children's stuff, but there is a lot of non interactive exhibits. My kids are bored after an hour. The ONLY reason I give it a 2 star instead of 1 is the fact that the planetarium staff are very good. Both the orlando and Daytona science centers are much better choices and cost similar. I wouldn't recommend MOSI in it's current form to anyone.

Not worth it I wish I would have asked for a refund but I remember coming as a child and it being massive the planetarium was cool but it's only a small fraction of the place that's open the butterfly gardens are dead and so is the scenery outside

We went through it in two hours we paid extra for the planetarium and the digital ride it's half the size it used to be the other side is now used for training police dogs it's still really interesting we would have been there longer but the twelve-year-old I was with didn't want to stop at all the booths and do all the different things I would think it would be a wonderful day to spend a rainy day in there they absolutely have got to Mark how to get to the parking and how to get out of the parking lot and back to the street we rode around and around I'm sure they thought that was really funny doing that I was not pleased also I bought the CityPASS there and they didn't tell me you have to use it in 9 days I bought it for a child that's coming down next month so now we're trying to run around and use the City Pass I work during the week I only have a few days to use it and it was $124 I think yeah that didn't work out and they should have told me it was only good for 9 days

Awesome place to experience a few cool themes. Loved learning what they had to share! Its not real high excitement atmosphere so kids tend to get a little bored after an hour or 2 but they will remember it.

Because they're going to be moving to downtown Tampa, most of the museum was closed. They are now down to only using the kids zone ... We still had fun but ran out of things to see in less than two hours =/

Took my son here for the first time and was very impressed with all the Hands-On activities especially for a nine-year-old. We were not able to complete all the activities in the three hours that we were there.

The Museum itself is relatively small but there are many cool things to do and see. The staff is friendly and are interactive with guests. I feel like the add-ons are a bit pricey. But, over all, I'd say it was definitely well worth the $13.00 admission.

Not worth visiting. Large building shut down for hurricane shelter. They say their relocating in 4 years. General admission of 12.95 only one building. To do anything else they offer cost extra. Did the one building in 20 mins got a refund and went to a different children's museum. I sure hope the relocation is much more to offer and happens sooner then 4 yrs. MOSI was apart of my childhood and it used to be amazing and lots of fun. I hoped it would be the same for my child.

I've been going on field trips with Elementary aged students for years. Every year the kids have a great time. The staff are very kid friendly and make science actually entertaining for kids of all ages.
