Two of the levels are for the public but the first level, the main floor, is completely under construction right now (Apr 2021) so we could see nothing there.
The third level is the stage and floor, plus the AKANSAS BLACK HALL OF FAME, which displays all the annual inductees from its inception in 1992 (I believe was the first year) thru 2018. The most current years are not displayed yet. This is a nice collection of photos and brief synopsis of each special honoree.

Clarity and fascinating displays of honor, care, and devotion into moral psychology that I lost for two hours and haven't been able to get all the way to the end of the displays. Definitely worth returning to more than once.

Thank you the staff first & foremost that greeted our family. They were all very well educated on the motivation of the Mosaic Building & surrounding history connected. You must ask for Mr. Kenneth Brown if he is available. Although he is not a tour guide, he is the "seasoning" in that building. The variety of information about the foundation & reason of black owned businesses was moving & very appreciative. My family & I recoginzed the pride in which was taken to preserve history such as this.

Maybe my sixth visit so far. Attended a Jazz concert, held by Rojay Moore. The food was satisfactory but to be honest, I came solely for the music. Let's just say that I got my money's worth! Those youngsters played like they were getting paid to perform. CandySoul's performance was phenomenal, very heartfelt. The staff and servers were very friendly and courteous. One of the best jazz concerts I've been to in a while. Great job guys and thank you, Mosaic Templars for the platform.

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center: Celebrating Arkansas's Rich Heritage

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is a museum and cultural center located in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is one of the many institutions under the Department of Arkansas Heritage, which was created to preserve and promote the state's natural and cultural heritage.

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is dedicated to celebrating the rich history and culture of African Americans in Arkansas. The center was named after the Mosaic Templars of America, a fraternal organization that provided insurance and other services to African Americans during the early 20th century.

The museum features exhibits that showcase various aspects of African American life in Arkansas, including art, music, literature, sports, politics, and more. Visitors can learn about notable figures such as Daisy Bates, who played a key role in desegregating Little Rock Central High School; John H. Johnson, founder of Ebony magazine; and Scott Joplin, composer of ragtime music.

In addition to its exhibits, the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center also hosts events throughout the year that celebrate African American culture. These events include concerts featuring local musicians; lectures by scholars on topics related to African American history; film screenings; art exhibitions; and more.

One unique feature of the center is its collection of artifacts related to black fraternal organizations such as the Masons and Eastern Stars. These organizations played an important role in providing social support for African Americans during times when they were excluded from mainstream society.

Another highlight of the museum is its permanent exhibit on "Arkansas Made," which showcases products made by black-owned businesses throughout Arkansas's history. This exhibit highlights how these businesses contributed to their communities despite facing discrimination and other challenges.

Overall, visiting the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center provides a fascinating glimpse into Arkansas's rich cultural heritage through an often-overlooked lens: that of its African American residents. Whether you're interested in art or politics or simply want to learn more about this important aspect of our state's past (and present), this museum has something for everyone.

If you're planning a visit to Little Rock or are simply looking for ways to connect with your community's history and culture wherever you are located - be sure not miss out on this incredible institution!
