Very disappointed with the service rude and unhelful doctor telephone call back.can't get seen by a qualified person.
Will have to take my partner to a private clinic. (And she will be seen tomorrow) friday 16th April. Wasted time and many many telephone calls over the last weeks, This is not the service or support we expect from our local gp practice. And this now the second time we have been let down by this practice.
Not fit for purpose.
I used to like this Surgery but now agree with what Katie wrote:

I m not putting up with them anymore, I m registering at another surgery now, had enough of these awful people!"
It's a shame as the actual GP's and community nurses here are excellent when you are actually allowed to see them. Unfortunately, unless you want to share intimate medical details with the 'experts' on reception you won't be allowed to
EDIT: In response to the reply below - I did disclose the reason, even though it was confidential, and was refused an appointment as it wasn't 'an emergency'. Aren't the GP's supposed to decide what is urgent and what isn't? It is deeply unpleasant having long-term medical issues dismissed in this way.
EDIT#2 - The conversation above was made over the telephone, not face to face. Since I left this review I have TWICE requested my repeat prescription and it has not been issued, despite there never being a problem before. VERY professional. I'm now left without my medication. If I had been allowed to see a doctor I could have just got it then.
The best Surgery I have ever known. The staff are courteous and helpful and all the Clinicians treat you as a person and have time for you. They listen to you and explain everything in a clear manner that makes you feel confident and reassured.
I would recommend this Surgery to anyone without any reservation.

I honestly cannot understand some of the negative comments on here, I for one think all the staff provide a first class service.
Reception staff make it as hard as possible to book an appointment and their default answer is constantly "at least a two or three week wait" however everytime i go in or if i go in with other people there is hardly anyone in. They sometimes struggle with people skills too and come across very abrupt as if they are shocked you actually want an appointment at a doctors surgery. I constantly have to jump through hoops to pick up a prescription even after showing them all the relevant paperwork etc, most recently i ordered my prescription shortly after getting out of hospital, i was told it would be ready to collect in a couple of days... i rang a few days later only to be told they had no record of my order, it took a further 3 phone calls and 2 visits to the surgery before i eventually got my prescription. Doctors themselves are really helpful though when you actually get to see them.

they is rally nice staff hair and doctors who try ther best to solve your case they help me vary time that i go rally easy to make appoint over the phone be cos all you have to is ring up at 8.00 am to get appoint with your gp so i would like to thank all the gp.s and norse.s so i would like to say thank you for helping me out and to keep up the good work form john hutchinson form Carlton care
Changed their policy on ordering repeat prescriptions without advising patients now leaving me unable to order this until next week resulting in a gap in taking it
In response to the Surgery's reply - There is obviously a lack of training and/or continuity in the practice as I have previously ordered prescriptions over the phone (as recently as December) and when I spoke to someone on the phone this week to again order they advised that you recently had a meeting and decided to no longer accept orders for repeat prescriptions over the phone
reception staff did not want to help . its depend who is sitting on reception otherwise your work will not be done. doctors are good at this surgery. doctors wants to help you but reception staff dont.
I really like this surgery. From the moment I joined 3 years ago I've been treat like a human being and not some nut job with mental health problems, of which I very rarely use the gp service for. The doctors are thorough and polite, as are the nurses and health workers. The receptionists are pleasant and helpful, and throw in an excellent pharmacy,you have an ideal situation. It has been a good atmosphere and wonderful people and friendly staff, well done.
Very dissapointed with this surgery. Every time i need to contact them i have to ring a few times throughout the day to get through to anyone. And all appointments are two or three weeks away. No good.
On top of all this, it takes two or three visits to the pharmacy to pick up your prescription.
However, the staff are very nice and helpful in any way possible and the surgery is equipped sufficiently.
This Gp employes (some of them) are non-qualified doctors. Or they've fallen out of love for their job a long time. Some of them forgot about the Hippocratic oath (the main thing is not to harm). I went there today for help, and came out with a round soul. I'm still shocked by the conversation with the doctor (she's female). According to her, my desire to live a couple of weeks ago is normal. The fact that I haven't been sleeping normal for a week, she said it's okay. I am very sorry about today's visit to her. I advise those who are registered there, to give help them own selves.
Used to be a brilliant surgery, ive been coming here since it was at Moorside, but now its horrific Doctor care is non exstistant it has receptionists that are rude and obnoxious, there is no care and if you have MH issues forget it like anywhere your own ...

This surgery used to be good but now it's getting ridiculous waiting weeks to get a telephone appointment and even longer to actually see a doctor. Oh and when you use the automated repeat prescription system, it does not send the request through. So check before turning up. Shame because doctors like Mr Dixon are really good.
