Moms in Prayer International: Connecting Moms through Prayer
Moms in Prayer International is a non-profit organization that connects mothers from all over the world through prayer. The organization was founded by Fern Nichols in 1984, who felt called to start a prayer group for her children and their schools. Today, Moms in Prayer has grown into a global movement with groups meeting regularly in over 160 countries.
The mission of Moms in Prayer is to impact children and schools worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. The organization believes that prayer is the most powerful tool available to parents, and that when moms come together to pray for their children, amazing things can happen.
Moms in Prayer groups meet weekly or bi-weekly for one hour of focused prayer time. During this time, moms pray specifically for their own children as well as other children and schools around the world. The prayers are based on four key areas: praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession.
Praise prayers focus on praising God for who He is and what He has done. Confession prayers allow moms to confess any sins or shortcomings they may have as parents or individuals. Thanksgiving prayers give thanks for blessings received while intercession prayers ask God's help on behalf of others.
The power of Moms in Prayer lies not only in the act of praying but also the community it creates among mothers. By coming together regularly to share their struggles and triumphs as parents while lifting each other up through prayer support, these women form deep bonds with one another.
One unique aspect of Moms In Prayer International is its emphasis on praying scripture over our kids' lives - using Bible verses specific to our child's needs helps us focus our hearts & minds during our weekly meetings.
In addition to regular group meetings, Moms In Prayer offers various resources such as books & study guides designed specifically for moms looking to deepen their faith journey alongside other like-minded women.
