An excellent venue for a special event. The building has character and it's setting with gardens stretching to the river made a wonderful backdrop. The food was superb and everyone commented on the quality of their meal and service by the staff at Mitton Hall.

Nice venue for weddings, stayed in guest room where the walls are very thin indeed. Good customer service, nice breakfast choices. No lift to upper rooms, lots of car parking and free wifi. Bring ear plugs.
My daughter had wedding on Sunday 23rd June 2019 . All staff where Amazing friendly. The food was perfect Becs who helped us walk down aisle I cannot thank you enough, the room s where clean everything was perfect cannot thank you all for a brilliant day Will highly recommend mitton hall to every one xx
I would definitely recommend Mitton Hall Hotel to everyone. Staying here was a pleasure, Hospitality & staff excellent and the choice of breakfast menu caters for everyone. 5/5
Extremely slow service which resulted in a wait of over an hour between ordering and arrival of starters. Not impressed by surly and non-communicative waitress. A fine venue and a very nice dining area, but spoilt by ultra slow service.
We went here for a wedding open day the main room and bar area was very nice and extremely well set up and we were impressed. We would have liked to have seen the rooms but they were not available to view which we would have really liked to see and the fact that there is no elevator or disabled access to the rooms would make this very difficult to choose as a venue despite how amazing the main hall actually is. We loved the dark gothicness of the main public area as well it is very different.
I went with a friend who is thinking of having their wedding there. We met with the wedding co ordinator and had a tour. We were greeted with a hot beverage and the staff were lovely. It is a beautiful place and I really hope my friend gets married there.
Mutton Hall is perfect venue for weddings and other special events. There is an excellent bar area offering a wide range of beers, spirits, and cocktails. The restaurant offers an excellent lunchtime menu. The staff have a pleasant attitude making sure that customer is felt welcome and always put first. This visit was caused by an over site by another restaurant, but Mitton Hall came to the rescue and everyone in the party was excellently cared for.
Eaten here many times, always great food and willing to accommodate my husbands food allergies.
In October for our anniversary we stayed the night for the first time and had a meal there that evening. They heard it was our anniversary and gave us two free glasses of prosecco and a beautiful slate with "happy anniversary" written on it in white chocolate.
They even let our little dog stay!
The room was stunning, such a beautiful room. The bed was huge although a little bit hard for my liking. The bathroom was amazing and breakfast the following day was nice.
My Mum and I had an Afternoon Tea at Mitton Hall and it was an all round excellent experience. My Mum has not been well and is in a wheel chair, we found the premises very accessible in this regard considering it is a building of it's era, which was full of character and very charming. The service from staff was exceptional, very welcoming and professional, with such warmth too. The Afternoon Tea menu was delicious and presented perfectly. They also presented my Mum with a complimentary platter, which was thoughtful and so kind. You made her day a lovely one. Thank you.
Unfortunately visited today with a friend for the afternoon tea for her special birthday. After being highly recommended by a few people and never having been before I had high expectations. On arrival we waited to be attended to and another group came in and all but 1 went straight outside. He was dealt with before us and they encouraged us to stay inside. But being a sunny, dry day we sat outside. The other party not only were given drinks before us but also had their food before we even received a drink. We waited for 3/4 hr to have any attention at all. When we finally received the food it was very disappointing. Especially the cakes only 1 out of 5 was enjoyable. We didn't complain because we had already made comments about the time we had to wait. It was disappointing because it was something we were looking forward to and my first outing since the start of lockdown. Excuses were made about short staffing........
This is an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff are outstanding and nothing is too difficult for them. Coupled with that the food is equally amazing. In conclusion we had a great stay and I would recommend the Hotel to anyone
Stayed the night 27 4 19 for our 35th wedding anniversary, the little extra touches, made us feel extra special. The staff were lovely, the food was great, the accommodation was perfect, lovely and clean. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Thank you to all the staff at Mitton Hall for giving us a lovely anniversary night
Hotel is in a beautiful setting, main house looks lovely but 60s concrete block behind where we had our room is very tired. Accommodation a bit worn out. Breakfast was Ok. Staff were ok. On check out the reception staff tried to charge us for dinner which we hadn t had. They said they couldn t check it because their systems were down. They handled it very poorly and I would say need training. We wouldn t return to this hotel now.
A beautifully adorned hall and hotel in the heart of Lancashire.
I attended a friend's wedding here , after opting to have my own wedding at another venue.
The venue hall is modern, well appointed, and very spacious. The bars had easy access, with a nice lounge area to get away from the loud music if need be.
The hotel side, without a doubt, is stunning. Simply beautiful. The dark wood flanking the oversized fireplace in the main hall is nothing short of astounding. This theme had made it into our suite, which again, was beautifully appointed and spacious. The bathroom was more modern, exactly where you'd appreciate that duality.
Looking at this place as a wedding venue. Beautiful grounds and lovely historical main hall and bar combined with the open fire make a wonderful area to relax in. The room for events is beautiful with the back drop onto the countryside adding to it.
Had an afternoon tea here asked for water, it didn't turn up we had to ask again not much variety with the sandwiches but sausage roll was delicious. The cakes were average and had to ask for butter for the scones. Wouldn't go again
We got married at Mitton Hall on 14th July this year and it was the best day we could have asked for. From the outset, the team at Mitton were amazing they are super organised and on top of every detail throughout the whole planning process. Every time I emailed, they would get back me so quickly with such helpful responses, which was amazing and reassured me every step of the way. On the day itself, everything ran so smoothly and the team ensured it flowed seamlessly but without fuss. I loved having breakfast with my bridesmaids and mum on the morning of the wedding, and getting ready in the beautiful rooms was wonderful. The venue looked amazing, the food was delicious, the DJ included as part of the package was brilliant everything was even better than we could have hoped for. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful Mitton Hall is, how amazing the food was and generally what a fantastic day it was. The bridal suite was beautiful, and having breakfast with our closest family and friends the next morning was such a lovely end to such a special experience. We couldn t have chosen a more perfect venue for us, and we can t recommend Mitton Hall highly enough. A special thank you to Lesley-Anne, who is so lovely and was brilliant keeping on top of everything on the day, and Chloe, who made the planning process so easy and enjoyable.
Love building , room clean, food delicious, staff really friendly, feather pillows in room and around hotel so if your like me and have allergies pack your Piriton. Dogs allowed, all were very well behaved while we stayed never heard or smelt one just seen them dotted about enjoying their holiday.
Magnificent afternoon tea & champagne...best scones we've EVER tasted. They must have an excellent pastry chef! A bar of opulence with well trained, attentive staff. Now looking to stay a night to enjoy the restaurant & bar for cocktails.
Enjoyed a lovely wedding at the weekend. It was very organised and went well. The hall itself is looking a bit tired in places. The chairs in the wedding venue are very uncomfortable
Paid a very good price for coffee scones tea ,and so on the people are great no snobs ,great please, in fact ,feel so at ease and relaxed ,I stayed over with g friend one snoweee night, and for something as basic as a full breakfast ,quality has never been even close, good times ,
My friends and I always come to Mitton hall to their afternoon tea. They never fail to impress, a lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches are provided on a nice slate cake stand. The staff are very attentive friendly. Would highly recommend.
Such an outstanding hotel location set in beautiful countryside beautiful features within hotel, lovely atmosphere food amazing with helpful friendly staff always smiling nothing to much trouble what more can I say loved every minute
Highly recommended A fabulous friendly wonderful small hotel set in an area of outstanding beauty. The food is absolutely superb. What makes this hotel so special for a seasoned travellers like us is the staff. Two people stand out above and beyond and that is Sam and Jen.The wonderful way they interact with guest make you feel very at home. We were in a standard room on a Hotel package which was clean and tidy if somewhat small so check your room allocation before hand so as not to be disappointed. Great hotel. Definitely coming back. Thank you all working at the hotel. Highly recommended
We absolutely love Mitton Hall. Sitting in the terrace in the sunshine or by the fire in the great Hall is a little moment of heaven. The food is delicious and service exemplary.
