The school lacks proper communication between the administration and parents. The transparency about the students' progress and events could be improved. Middlebury community schools need to prioritize regular updates to keep parents informed.
The education system at Middlebury community schools is average. The teachers are knowledgeable, but there is a lack of innovation in the curriculum. The school could benefit from incorporating more interactive learning methods.

I rank them low because they don't protect bullied kids in this school. I was bullied relentlessly all my years in the schools and bullying never stopped. The teachers attempted to help but it never changed anything I was treated terrible till my last day there.mostly because of my experience here I will never step foot in a classroom again if I can help it. The bad part is later on I found out I was autistic and that probably made it even worse. Most days I would have rather died than facing another day of those kids. I know I graduated many years ago but there are still lots of horrible memories attached to this school system.
Years This ago,I had no issue with this school. But a few years back, and this happened several times,I was out in public, mentioning some school activity or fund raiser in public in conversation to a friend and would have people, complete strangers I had never seen before, who were nearby jump in the conversation. They would say"Excuse me,are you talking about Middlebury schools?.They would tell me to take my kids out of that system right away, how horrible the system is,how severe the bullying us and how a lot of the teachers do not actually teach, they show the kids how to do something one time and the kids are expected to automatically know it. These people also said if teachers don't like certain kids, they grade their work lower and give them bad grades. One of these parents pulled their kids out of school after finding a better school district and temporarily move away from the area until their kids graduated school. One lady said her son was in high school and the teachers treated him so bad, nearly flunking him,she moved to Ohio His teachers loved him there,he got all A's and B's,graduated with Honors and was accepted into a very prestige college.(I don't remember the name) This system likes to portray itself as perfect but that is what they portray. It is a They are a 2 sided mirror. are terrible. Not all of the schools in this system bad but 2 of the schools for younger kids are horrible. Two of the principals, some of the teachers and 2 other staff members bully the parents into getting their own way. There is also a lot of bullying hapoening with students bullying students and the student getting bullied is expected to sit there and take it or they will be labeled a bully and punished like one too. A lot of times, the bully gets away Scott free and the student being bullied is punished. If your kid is getting bullied, they also will not tell parents what is going on if it does happen.Every single time it's "It's been dealt with." 3 of my kids have been beat up,punched in the stomach& ribs, coming home covered in bruises where they were punched. One of my kid's would get kicked in the shins and that would happen right before they would punch my child in the stomach. One of my kids came home with a complete split lip, bleeding and swelled. He said his head had been slammed into the wall, twice. I have had numerous things happen to my kids like this, some of it far worse than this.Again it was all "It's being dealt with." Sometimes it seems as if they pick on the kid for getting bullied, like it's the kid's fault for telling or that it was found out. This happened to my kids in kindergarten to second grade. If parents speak up about concerns, and staff doesn't like it or even if they simply don't like you or your kid, they thrive on going out of their way to cause major problems for parents and kids. A coworker of my brother told me they started giving him and his family problems because the teacher was verbally bullying his daughter. He said he would get a lawyer if it didn't stop. He said it stopped after that. The teachers in the older grades give out so much homework,it's normal for kids to have to stay up until 11-2 in the morning.I talked to other parents of older kids and they said it's been like that for years,it's normal and rare for kids to get their homework done before 11. And if they have after school jobs, sometimes they go into school with 1 or 2 hrs of sleep after finishing their homework. I am with other parents on this,a lot of the problems with this system is favoritism and power. Some of the staff think they hold all of the power and go to great lengths to force parents to do things their way,as a mere convince for the staff/teachers than the students. I have lost count of how many of my kid's friends were pulled out of school by their parents, tired of dealing with certain staff and teachers.Either put them in a better school system or usually to home school them. If the staff and teachers like you and your kid(s),you may be fortunate enough to slide under their radar with no issues.
