About Mid columbia childrens council
Mid-Columbia Children’s Council (MCCC) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 50 years. The organization is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education to children from low-income families, ensuring that every child has access to the resources they need to succeed.
MCCC offers a range of programs and services designed to support children and their families. These include Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP). Each program is tailored to meet the unique needs of children at different stages of development.
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for children aged three to five years old. The program provides educational, health, nutritional, and social services to help prepare children for kindergarten. Early Head Start serves pregnant women and infants up to three years old by providing home-based services that promote healthy development.
ECEAP provides free preschool education for eligible three- and four-year-olds from low-income families. The program focuses on school readiness skills such as language development, pre-reading skills, math concepts, social-emotional development, physical health and well-being.
In addition to these programs MCCC also offers family support services such as parenting classes; assistance with accessing healthcare; nutrition education; mental health counseling; job training opportunities; housing assistance; transportation assistance etc., all aimed at helping parents provide a stable environment in which their child can thrive.
The staff at MCCC are highly trained professionals who are passionate about early childhood education. They work closely with parents/guardians as partners in their child's learning journey by offering regular parent-teacher conferences where they discuss each child's progress towards meeting developmental milestones.
MCCC believes that every child deserves an equal opportunity for success regardless of their circumstances or background. By providing high-quality early childhood education programs along with family support services MCCC helps break down barriers so that all children can reach their full potential.
