Mickey and Mooch Restaurant Review

Great food, love the appetizers. Always have great service.

Good atmosphere, good customer service...Had a party of 5 during Restaurant week and my waitress Rubina was great! My drink, a Moscow Mule... was excellent! My food was delicious... Had a boneless Ribeye, medium well and it was perfect! Good flavor and very tender... My sides were made from scratch and fresh... The chocolate cake was awesome! They have live music and a semi dance floor near the bar. My girls and I had a great time! Will definitely be back.

Overall it was a good visit with nice atmosphere and good food. The service could have been a bit better because it seemed like they may have been understaffed so we had to wait to ask server for additional sides. Other than that it is a nice place and the area is great, never issues with parking.

2019-07 Update: OMG y all, after all my years eating here, somehow I had never tried their Lump Crabcakes, and have I been missing out! Bear in mind, I grew up in Delaware, so I loved Maryland crabcakes growing up. But these? OH.MY.GAWD.THEY.ARE.AMAZING!!! I ll be getting these much more frequently from now on.

Also, I really don t understand how they have a 4-star rating. We ve enjoyed superb restaurants around the US and Europe, and we think very highly of Mickey & Mooch.

One of our favorite Charlotte restaurants! Chef Mickey and his crew have consistently served excellent meals for every course, every visit. Some of my favorites:
- The Colossal Lump Crab appetizer: OMG this can almost be a meal unto itself. Colossal is truly the right description!
- Rare Ahi Tuna: this is AMAZING. Get the Soy Ginger sauce and the Peppercorn coating for a truly mouthwatering meal.
- Steaks: my wife likes them medium rare and I like mine medium, and they do a great job at getting them just right. Only once did they over-cook my wife s, but they were very gracious and immediately cooked her a new one that was spot on.
- Lamb: this is actually for my wife, who is very picky about lamb, and the one time she had it, she said it was terrific.
- Sides: always very generous, not over cooked or dry, and wonderfully seasoned.
- Wines: you will never feel like they short you on a glass of wine, that s for sure! Last time we went, the waiter had to be super careful when bringing our glasses, as they were so full I thought they d spill.

One important note: they are VERY popular and crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, so it is definitely best to make reservations in advance.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING meal and service!! Consistent in quality, portions and cleanliness. Highly recommend the lump crab - I ve never had quality crab in this quantity anywhere else - the freshness is unprecedented! Oh and filet medallion with Gorgonzola - I think hey called it fondue? The meat broke apart with the fork it was incredibly tender - wow!!!! My favorite place and we don t have to go uptown or to Ballantyne to get an upscale, fancy atmosphere with great food!! Must try - oh and they have live music I believe Wednesday to Saturday! Great outdoor space and environment as well as good parking.

One of our favorites although I will say our server Carson was not having a good night. Our drinks took 30+minutes to arrive. Not sure who's to blame for that but I think he could have been nicer overall about that situation. Food was great and I like the ambiance. If you go on a night that Bobby Ryder is performing in the bar, you will not be disappointed. He is a big part of why we love coming here.

Careful with this place fellas .....the wait staff will mack on your woman as soon as you get up and go to the bathroom.

Also my steak tasted good but was undercooked. Plus they forgot our side of broccoli. Once it came out .... it was undercooked as well.

The ambience is very nice and the serving staff was very friendly and accommodating. Live music was entertaining and wasn t too loud either. So , you can listen and and still have conversations.

The best! Their bread is delicious. The food is amazing. Of all the restaurants in Charlotte, this is our favorite.

The music was absolutely amazing. The carrot cake was moist and delicious. The Chilean Seabass was tasty. The truffle fries were so flavorful. I enjoyed my dinner. The only downfall was the wait for seating as it did not appear to be busy.

Only had drinks at the bar. The staff was nice and helpful. Be careful with the underside of the bar when hanging a coat as there are some sharp nails sticking out. Like the decor
