Mi Apa Latin Cafe Review

A great spot in Gainesville, not just for Cuban food but really good Hispanic comfort food. Well known and staffed by members of the Hispanic community from both Santa fe and UF colleges. Definitely won't break the bank either.

The Cuban sandwich was pale fresh but lacked toast the bread a bit, the rice pudding was fine.

Love this local gem. Great food, quick and friendly service. A wonderful place to visit if you're in town.

Their breakfast are really good, especially their tostadas. Their Batidos are really good the only thing is that their a little over priced

Mi Apa has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had misplaced an item, and called that day to check if it was there. The girl on the phone said it was, and that it was okay for me to pick it up the next day since I was out of town. I show up the next day, and the manager informs me that she had no idea that the item was ever there, and that they could not find it and probably had thrown it away. Absolutely unacceptable.

i had their chicken and avocado arepa and it was horrible! It was flavorless. Their meat pastry's are always gone everyday if you aren t early. What type of restaurant is this where your food is running out constantly and you are not changing to improve that!

Rice was hard and beans salty Friday early evening. Sold out of what we wanted at 5pm

Nifty Cuban style food. Great coffee and arepas. Delicious empanadas and pastelitos. The blended fruit drinks are sinfully good. Excellent food in general and excellent prices. If I wasn't writing this review on my phone I'd say more, but I highly recommend this place.

Honestly this place was great. Went here for takeout and everything was new and delicious. Can't recommend more.

Good Latin food in a relaxing atmosphere. Can be crowded and therefore noisy, but good food options ranging from meats, poultry, beans and sweets. Outdoor and indoor dining, take out and drive thru.

Just Wow!!!Great food great service great coffee, great price. I grew up eating Cuban sandwiches from Tampa. I was on my way North on I75 and saw the sign. I stopped in truly only expecting a mediocre sandwich at best. I couldn't have been more wrong. Mi Apa served us the best Cuban sandwiches we've ever tasted.

I absolutely love this place. I'm from Miami and miss my hometown. This place just gives me sweet memories of South Florida....their food is delicious and authentic!!! The staff is very friendly and prompt, as well!

What a terrific place! I met Emily at the drive through. She was there to take my order immediately upon my arrival. This was my first time trying Mi Apa so I had no idea what to order. Emily was super helpful, very kind and gave me recommendations. I loved the Key West Cuban and the Cafe cone leche.

This is a great place for an inexpensive, quick meal or snack. My favorite is a cortadito and a la del gato arepa. Be aware that they add sugar to the fruit juices. Also, you can request a half or no sugar with your coffee if you want. The only drawback is all of the disposable stuff your food is served on.

Wonderful little Latin cafe reccomended by some Gainesville locals. Glad I listened. Wonderful Cuban Coffee a nice Cuban sandwich and some platanitos for good measure.

The only thing i like from this restaurant is the cuban breakfast!!

Great Latin food! I love their Cuban sandwiches and fried plantains. Portions are large enough to have leftovers for the next day, and the prices are great for college students.

I ate here regularly while at the University of Florida. Just blocks away from the Lakeside dorms on UF s campus. Great food and portions especially on a college student s budget!

I ordered picadillo, white rice and sweet plantain but i got chicken, yellow rice and black beans. Who ever prepared my order probably thought I'm ignorant and doesn't know what PICADILLO is. Simply because I'm an Asian.

This place is the best!!! Had eggs over easy, rice, fried plantains and the cuban toast. Omg yes.

The food is usually good but there was a time or two that I've had very mediocre experiences (food-wise). Service is always amazing--everyone is always smiling and super sweet. The coffee is good of course, as are the pastelitos. I also love their vegetarian arepa. Its surprisingly flavorful!

You want fast food quality cuban food...there you go. Good luck.

Excellent Cuban cuisine! Expect a short wait during peak times, but I promise it's worth it. They also offer takeout at rocket-fast speeds.

A Gainesville staple! Well priced, full of flavor, and very friendly staff. Their empanadas, especially the ropa vieja, and juices (mix them!) are so good!

The food is super tasty, inexpensive and you are satisfied with the portions served, excellent service.

Always great service and even better food. My best feature is their drive thru. For someone always on the go like me, it is a life saver. I also like that I can bring my fogs if I sit outside and they will even bring them water.

Having grown up in Dade County FL, Cuban cuisine is hard wired into my bio-system.
If I go to long without it, I succumb to what I like to call vitamin "C"uban deficiency.

Mi Apa is my favorite source for "supplements".

When my boss was visiting from Kansas City, I had no hesitation in taking him there when he requested a eatery suggestion.

The food is decent and the staff is great! I would not recommend their churros nor their croquettes. All other food options are fair game and remind me of Cuban cuisine.

I liked the promptness, energetic and kind service of the waitress and the staff. I also liked the empanadas. I can say that the smoothie needed a little tiny less water and little more fruit.

Definitely the best latin cafe place in town. I always get the Miami sub, but last time miss Paola told me that the chiclano was another great choice for breakfast. Not to mention their natural juices and very unique cortadito. I was very satisfied with the flavor, the prices and excellent service. Thanks for everything Paola...

I have loved Mi Apa for a few years now. The food is so flavorful and savory (if you are looking for something amazing try the Ropa Vieja w/ yellow rice). I finally decided to write a review after my great drive-thru experience today. Not only was it quick and friendly, BUT all of the to-go containers were sustainable! My food came in a cardboard hinged lid container with mini cardboard cups inside, and a paper napkin wrapped with a paper strap. This is amazing coming from a business who used to use styrofoam and plastic containers. My one suggestion would be to convert from plastic bags over to paper bags and instead of single use plastic silverware, try bamboo silverware (an affordable and effective alternative).
