What a spectacular location for a wedding reception!

The shuttle service from the parking lot to Meyer's Castle was just the beginning of a wonderful evening on Saturday, December 10. There were four of us in our party and the service we received was the most polite and attentive I've experienced in quite some time. My wife enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi and I had the New York Strip, which was cooked perfectly to my request. The salads were fresh and flavorful with the dressing was outstanding.

The wait staff was very personable and we enjoyed brief comments about the weather, the Castle, the grounds, and more. We will return again and take one of the tours.

All of this was made even more pleasant by the beautiful Christmas decorations, lighting and more. It was truly a memorable experience. The shuttle return to our vehicle as the snow was falling was very nice. I am sure Joseph Meyer would be proud of how his home continues to welcome guests.

We just had our engagement party at Meyer's castle, utilizing their patio and restaurant. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had from start to finish. Eva and Elizabeth were immensely sweet, accommodating and just a pleasure to work with in coordinating and planning our event. Both women (event coordinator & owner) treated our event like it was their own, and went above and beyond to help us shape every detail to our liking.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the wait staff the day of were incredibly kind and helpful. Tara, Malcolm and Sandy, especially, were a pleasure to have with us. The food (and I'm a picky foodie) was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. And the setting at Meyer's Castle is so gorgeous that we spoilt for choice of backdrops with our photographs. Every one came out beautifully!

More than anything, we really appreciated the genuine kindness and consideration that was shown to us by the entire staff and the owners from our first visit through our engagement party itself.

Nothing great. The atmosphere is amazing, but the food was honestly mediocre at best.

Surprisingly beautiful. A magical manse tucked away behind a screen of trees.

Mothers day brunch

The food didn't taste bad, other than the previously frozen finger deserts from the food service company. That being said, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Yes I'm yelling. You will have a better meal at old country buffet and it will cost half as much. This is in no way a $30.00 a plate mothers day brunch.

Totally and completely disappointed

Nice space for event, good food, drinks, customer service! Parking is a little strange, but okay.

Absolutely the rudest bartenders in the history of wedding receptions. Short pours and half fills. And $800 for 6 pizzas at the end of the night! They started putting the lights on 40 mins before the event ended. Oh, did I mention that you had to park 3 blocks from the door AND the transport bus broke down. Epic fail! Shame on you MEYER'S CASTLE!!

I guess if you have to visit Indiana, which I don't recommend, this place is about as classy as you will find.

I had the most wonderful of experiences in choosing Meyer's Castle for my wedding renewal and daughter's dedication. They were professional and made my vision for our day better than I ever could imagine. My coordinator, Kate, was AMAZING, she assisted me every step of the way and was kind and empathetic when I was going through some challenges leading up to the renewal. The day of the event, Kate knocked it out of the park - EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!

The floral arrangements could bring you to tears - they were gorgeous, Lisa did an exceptional job, she works with your budget and the end result will take your breath away. The staff were very attentive to me and my guests and made sure we were accommodated accordingly. Overall, choosing Meyer's Castle was the best decision my husband and I made and if we decided to host another elegant and intimate affair Meyer's Castle would be #1 on our list!!! I can't thank them enough for making our day so special - it meant so much.

I had my wedding and reception at the castle and we had the best experience we could have hoped for(besides summer heat lol) :) Eva was out wedding planner and she was absolutely phenomenal!!!! She has got to be one of the most organized and efficient people I know and that was a huge benefit through this whole process. She made my stress level basically 0 through this whole process, which for the bride is a huge factor. She was always on top of updating me with any new information or changes, and she always kept mine and the groom's interests above anyone else's. She helped make the best day of my life possible and significantly less hectic. The food and wedding cake was impeccable and I received many compliments from my guests as to the beautiful state of the grounds and reception hall. We had a fantastic bartender(Heather) who was super sweet and made the best fruity drinks for a fairly picky bride lol I cannot wait to come back to have dinner in the actual restaurant. Also, our guests looooved the peacocks wandering the grounds. And they were fairly quiet during the wedding ceremony which I appreciated lol Don't ever get rid of them ;) All in all, the myself, the groom, our family, guests had a wonderful experience :D Meyer's Castle and Eva, you have definitely earned these 5 stars!!!! :)

Don t do it! The guy is an idiot and the place is run down. He was cursing at the vendors and asking them if the were f***ing idiots. They were simply unloading their vans with equipment.

I had the most wonderful birthday party here! Fit for a princess, definitely pulled out all the velvet ropes. Food, decoration, service was incredible! I remember my cake being the most delicious cake I've ever had (creme brulee French vanilla). I absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to spend a little more for all the extra perks :-)

They'll sell you a dream, all you'll get is lies. Ruined our special day & didn't try to resolve or issues. Chicken tenders instead of breast, under staffed, late cold food for our guests just to name a few. Spend your money somewhere else, what looks good is not always good.

Overpriced workers were nice but were uneducated when asked any questions. Food was so cheap and very expensive don't waste your money on this place. I had the Salmon and it was terrible overcooked soaked in a bunch of sauce to hide the cheap piece of fish. I asked that the asparagus be cooked healthy but I was given 4 pieces soaked in nasty oil gross. The fish was horribly salty.The salad was on the smallest plate have ever seen it was a joke probably cost 2 cents to make it Don't waste your money here total rip off

Beautiful place but it was raining when we were there and the room where we were leaked so bad...and the people serving the food need to be more friendly

I attended a wedding reception here. It was located on a lovely estate. It's perfect for photos.

Great service and the staff is five stars. Great atmosphere.

This was a disappointing experience to say the least. We had to e-mail and call them 3 times just to get someone that knew how to set up an appointment. On the day we arrive to tour the facility for our wedding planning, the woman who was supposed to show us around suddenly had an "emergency to attend to." A different person showed up to show us around, but we couldn't do any pricing estimations or see any pictures because the guy locked himself out of the office and no one was able to reopen the door that day... so then we tour the facility.... wow, it's beautiful - but it looks like it has never been cleaned before (cobwebs everywhere, mud and dirt on the walkways...). Additionally, the AC was not working at the time, so it was close to 90 degrees in most of the rooms. They have a bridal suite, but we couldn't see that because again, he locked himself out of the office. The outdoor section of the reception room was also extremely dirty and there was a lot of random old furniture just piled up in a corner, and again, tons of mud and puddles of water (PS it had not rained in a few days). Also NOT ADA compliant, so wheelchair users beware! We loved the location though, really beautiful landscape and its up on this huge hill... He tells us that he will send us a detailed pricing spreadsheet in a day or two and will be happy to answer any questions about it after we look it over. **Two weeks later** Still no pricing sheet, but the guy sends us an e-mail today saying, "so are you planning on having the wedding here?"

Extremely unorganized, flustered, and no solutions to even the simplest of problems = a very bad venue to have a wedding. What would have happened if he locked himself out of the office on wedding day, and we had no access to the suite? What if the AC still isn't fixed? What if my grandmother slips on their dirty/muddy walkways before the wedding because they have no ramps anywhere? We drove 2.5 hours to see this venue, only to be greeted by a flustered man and a dirty castle.

It s been 60 days after my reception and I ve called and emailed numerous times to speak with someone about how unhappy I was and they REFUSE to call me back. They are totally ignoring me. Great customer service huh??

The venue was not up to par. And when brought to the attention of Johnathan and Elizabeth I was assured things would be taken care of like cleaning the space, making sure the toilets were all working, making sure the lights were all in working order, ensuring that there were no tripping hazards. I felt as if I had to inspect the property to make sure it was ready to host our event even though that should ve been done well in advance by your staff.



The bar countertops were dirty.

The cash bar wasn t set up prior to my event starting, it didn t get set up until dinner was being served after my guests and coordinator asked about it.

I was promised easels but was notified the day before that there was only one. I had to go out and buy what I needed the day of my event.

There was apparently an event timeline/show flow that was never shared with me or had my approval so my coordinator received an attitude from Johnathan that we were behind schedule even though I had my own timeline that I was following since no one shared anything with me or asked me about it.

The food was late to half of our guests (9 out of 18 tables).

When the food arrived it was skimpy, cold and inedible. Even the bridal party that got served first had a couple of tenderloins (instead of a whole chicken breast) and the potatoes were hard as well.

The string lights behind the head table were never turned on because it was told to my coordinator that to turn that switch on was an upcharge but I was never told that.

We were nickel and dimed on every single thing which was very annoying. A clearer depiction of what we would get and what was not included should ve been better communicated and conveyed.

We were told that our AV needs would be met but then later was told we had to find our own AV person.

I communicated multiple times about what I was going to have at my event regarding a gift and card table, sweets table, etc but I still had to ask for the tables we needed on the day of.

Awesome experience we had with the owner of this castle. They have great rates for weddings and parties but with class.

The venue had excellent food. The chicken was amazing! The ceremony was beautiful and we were able to take amazing pictures!

Food is horrible. Took 2 hours to give us our check even though we were the only people there. Now I know why.

My cousin had her wedding here last weekend and it was the best wedding I have been too. The location is incredibly beautiful, the staff was wonderful and the food was amazing! I would recommend it to anyone

I want to take this opportunity to thank Elizabeth and her team for providing a lovely and tranquil environment for my brother and I to host my mother's funeral luncheon this past weekend. The food was well prepared and with the addition of harpist Janelle Lake, we were provided with the flow and comfort that my family needed.
