It's a great place that helps the homeless get back on their feet

I have Mixed Feelings about Mercy House that Will be kept within me.
I think they are an Okay Non Profit organization ... needs More Help within the Staff.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS I WOULD. THE PEOPLE HERE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ITS LIKE TO GO THOUGH A ROUGH SITUATION. AND ALL OF THEM WILL SAY STRAIGHT TO YOUR FACE AS YOU'RE AS YOU'RE STRUGGLING: I"VE NEVER BEEN THROUGH NOTHING LIKE THAT " OR ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU'RE IN THE SITUATION YOU'RE IN "" HERE'S THE BEST ONE " I HAVE 60 OTHER CLIENTS TO WORRY ABOUT " THERE'S SO MANY OTHER PROGRAMS THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE MERCY TO REFERE YOU TO AND YOU CAN DIE IN THE PROCESS. ONCE YOU'VE FOUND A PLACE, YOU MIGHT LOSE IT WAITING ON JACOB TO GO INSPECT THE UNIT. AND HE MAKES SURE YOU KNOW THAT IT BETTER MEET THE CODES OR YOU WONT BE ABLE TO LIVE THERE. NO ONE SMILES. THE PEOPLE MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THEY ARE ONLY BEHIND THE DESK FOR A PAY CHECK. THEY ARE VERY UNENCOURAGING. THE ONLY WAY THEY KNOW HOW TO RESPOND IS NO, OR YOU MUST WAIT. THE WATER IS WARM. THE FOOD IS USUALLY COLD. WHENEVER YOU GET THE RARE OPPORTUNITY TO CATCH A MEAL. THEY HAVE FREQUENT MEETINGS AND CAN'T EVER COME TO THE PHONE. THEY HAVE A FOOD PANTRY NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT. THEIR PAPERWORK FOR HOUSING IS OUT DATED. AND DOESN'T SUIT THE NEEDS FOR 95 PERCENT OF THE CLIENTS. THE ONLY PEESON THAT CARES IS PAUL HE RUNS THE FRONT DESK. AND IF HE DOESN'T CARE HE AT LEAST GIVES YOU THE RESPECT TO ACT LIKE HE CARES.

They help alot of families..exspecially single Moms...

They helped my mom alot with building materials for a home she is remodeling. There should be more people in the world like the manager that helped us last week!!

They won't help you if you're a single parent and have a little bit of a background I only have misdemeanors on my records and they won't help you at all I called and they just asked for help for some furniture because I ended up getting a place all on my own and they said they can't help me because I'm not one of their clients I was one of your clients I signed up for everything that you all had for you to supposed to be helping me for housing but you wouldn't help because I wouldn't go to the salvation army shelter and get them to write a paper saying that I was homeless I was living in my car and I couldn't find anybody else that would take him write a paper for me and a salvation army wouldn't accept me because of my background this place is a joke and it should be closed down it doesn't help anybody out that's homeless and really needs help they choose who they want to help and most of them are immigrants that they helped I know every time I went into the office TV and ask for anything there is always immigrants in there and they would give them all the help they could give they even got this one woman a house herself she had no kids and they got her house and everything but now all I'm asking for some furniture and they won't even help with that like all I'm asking for is a couch and a dresser and you can't help me with that and you all have a store this place just needs to close down it's the worst place you could probably go in Harrisonburg at least one salvation army had their stores open they would help people

They are a place that is great for people trying to get help

Love the items, includes clothes, furniture, household items and decorations, children's clothes. Everything is reasonably priced.

They helped me find a place and get moved into it when I was homeless.

Mercy House helps Family's with Troubles in loosing their homes and/or Single Parents and aid in living quarters and getting jobs if needed.
