Rented to a Mercy Home grant participant. Nice resident but had a visitor "occupying" property while not being on the lease itself. Mercy Home supported the residents decision and I'm now in a legal battle to have resident removed from apartment.
I lived here for 3 years and the only thing I can say is this....THANK YOU SO MUCH! This place is amazing and changed my life for good. They helped me out with school and they also helped me develop a strong relationship with my family. They helped me see my flaws and fix them. They also genuinely care about you. You have to come to this place with an open mind, and remember that anything is possible.
Several years ago, I attended a special Mass during Mercy Home's anniversary. It was a special day. Attended by Mercy Home boys and girls, staff, benefactors and of course, Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
Written testimonials from the Governor of Illinois, Chicago Mayor Emmanuel and other dignitaries spoke of praise and thanks to Mercy Home for their care of many undefended and unloved children of Chicago.
In a way, I have a special bond with Mercy Home. When my Mother was three years old, her Mother died. My Mom and her three sisters were placed in an orphanage in St. Paul, Minnesota.
I am grateful that there were people who cared for my Mom and her sisters. Now, it is my turn to help care for the boys and girls of Mercy Home through my prayers and donations. After all, we are all one family, a family of Love.
Long time donor. Not much in dollars. I hope this great organization will sever ties with the Mayor's office. We back children with no family protection, we need to back the individuals that protect them when removed from the family. CPD and Mercy Home. Please.
Great place for at risk youth who are in need of support services. Helpful staff. Good social, and academic support. This facility is a much needed place, providing an abundance of services on a sliding fee scale. I highly recommend this facility for families struggling with their child. Family therapy is provided, individual therapy, an advocate for the youth, tutoring, an education liaison, etc. The program is regimented, and if a family truly wants what's best for their child, this facility is awesome. It is strictly voluntary, so if the youth is not invested, and motivated to be there, they will not be accepted. We need more facilities like this.
