The food is wonderful, the service is strong, the timing of food delivery and the description is high quality, the ambiance is good, the menu is easy to use, the music is fine, and I will return. This is a beautiful eating experience. Thank you to the people who brought me, I appreciate it very much.

Excellent service and the food is great, but the courses come out too slowly for a dinner on a weeknight. Started dinner at 8, finished at midnight. Also, for as much as it costs, you'd think they'd have complimentary valet.

Unbelievable dining experience with the best service I have ever had. Literally the manager is from Paris (Jean-Jacques was his name?, district 19) and he was engaging, knowledgeable, and very funny. This was an experience of consuming a pre fix menu with all five of your senses. The caviar egg was definitely the highlight, and although Melissa did not invite it, they dam well perfected it. The restaurant was pricey at about $225 per person after tax tip and with wine so be prepared to set your credit limit accordingly! Also I would be remised if I did not mention the music playlist was on point: Radiohead, Pink Floyd, etc.

Doug is an excellent server. After a stressful cab ride there, I had too much anxiety to even look at the menu. I told Doug what diet restrictions I have (there are many) and he did all of my ordering for me. He chose amazing dishes, one of More

The food was great and so was the wine pairing and service. Loved the little touches like a small stool for purses next to the table. The attention to detail and even having a coat check and a ticket to pick up any take out on the way out. Very very classy. But $800 for a 2 person meal... Ouch! That's really the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

This was the evening that my foodie adventure has gone to the next higher level~

2 Michelin Stars restaurant!! 10 course menu + 4 hours dinner = $150+

I know... I know... it sounds expensive! BUT let me tell you, the experience is absolutely amazing! If you are a true foodie, you definitely have to try this at least once in your life time.

The Service: Totally felt like VIP! Every staffs is so professional and well trained. They have provided absolutely "A+" service. Especially thanks to the manager, James Spencer, for the great hospitality! He definitely made my dining experience more pleasant.

The Food: When I saw the food portion, I said to myself, "Is that enough?" And trust me, you will NOT go home hungry!!! With the delicious house made bread, complimentary appetizer, 10 course menu and more complimentary dessert. There are lots of food!

Every single course is like a piece of art work. I was so anxious to find out what was the next creation. The time and effort putting in the detail of the presentation.... unbelievable! There are so many different ingredient and sauce on each course, they compliment each other and go so well together! I was absolutely in food heaven!!

They also have 4 course menu for $125+ and 17 course menu for $275.

I have wanted to try this place for a while. So when I found out Melisse was participating in Restaurant Week, I immediately made a reservation. You know, being Asian, I must maximize the value of my hard-earned dollars.

And Melisse did not disappoint. Everything my friend and I tried was delicious (all for $85 per person).

- AMUSE BOUCHE - those delightful skinned red grapes were perfect in awakening my taste buds. They also made a mistake and gave us two servings of this - if only that would happen more often.

- BREAD & BUTTER - bacon bread. Enough said.

- OYSTER W/ POMEGRANATE FOAM - the oyster was HUGE and VERY FRESH. The pomegranate foam was very refreshing. Such amaze.

- WAGYU BEEF TARTARE - raw beef doesn't taste much better than this. (Actually it does - go to ink.)

- SWEET ONION SOUP W/ CRAB - Who knew onion soup could be so special?

- CARAMELIZED COD - I have never had bad co...d. With that said, this cod was still amazing. It was cooked to perfection, and the caramel glazing on the outside was just icing on the cake.

- BEEF RIBS - juicy and tender. And this is the first time where I scooped up every last drop of the BBQ sauce.

- CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER, & COFFEE - I am someone who thinks coffee flavored stuff is too under-appreciated. So major upvote to Melisse for featuring a variety of coffee flavored panna cotta and ice cream! It was all so delicious.

- EXTRA DESSERTS! - the matcha green tea macarons are out of this world. What a perfect way to end a fantastic meal.

Service was also top notch.

TL;DR: I had dined twice at Providence on some poor chaps' dime, while I paid for my own meal here, and I still prefer Melisse over Providence. That is how you know a restaurant is good. I want more.

I had the delightful pleasure of attending the new Citrin a la carte restaurant grand opening 12/20/2019. The new Melisse restaurant is a tasting prefixed menu restaurant inside of Citrin that is reminiscent of Josiah Citrin for the last 20 years, which opens 12/23/2019! Needless to say, the Citrin experience is star worthy rated on every level! The classics are included such as the egg caviar and lobster bolognese! The wine list is requiring a library card, so good; and the desserts are deliciously delicate, not too big after a coursed ensemble of Epicureanism! Thanks so much Josiah for signing your cookbook to me!

The food is undeniably of a high standard, but the wine pairing could use some careful rethinking. I had four glasses for $125. None of the glasses was exceptional or even notable and the servings were stingy.

Some strange choices in there, too. All the wines were French but no Bordeaux? White wine with bolognese? All wines were either reluctantly light or overpoweringly strong. Food menu was def worth it. Wine pairing let the team down. Pricey for what it was. Service was first class, if a little stiff & overattentive.

Went to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. Had the 10 course meal with wine pairings, which I highly recommend. This was the best dining experience we ever had. From start to finish it was truly amazing. Although VERY expensive in the end, it was worth every penny. The staff is excellent, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is perfect. If I could rate this a 8 I would.. but 5 will have to suffice.

Melisse is a LA culinary gem located in Santa Monica, California and offers many delicious things on their tasting menu. We had a unforgettable experience here and enjoyed every dish they brought out. Places like this really make you appreciate the suttleness of flavor and the delicateness of food presented as art. It's not your every Wednesday type of place, but for a celebration...this is your place!

We tried the prix fixe menu at the outdoor seating during the pandemic. Presentation was satisfying, service was superb, but the food didn't surprised me. I was definitely expecting something more than this.
