I have wanted to try this place for a while. So when I found out Melisse was participating in Restaurant Week, I immediately made a reservation. You know, being Asian, I must maximize the value of my hard-earned dollars.

And Melisse did not disappoint. Everything my friend and I tried was delicious (all for $85 per person).

- AMUSE BOUCHE - those delightful skinned red grapes were perfect in awakening my taste buds. They also made a mistake and gave us two servings of this - if only that would happen more often.

- BREAD & BUTTER - bacon bread. Enough said.

- OYSTER W/ POMEGRANATE FOAM - the oyster was HUGE and VERY FRESH. The pomegranate foam was very refreshing. Such amaze.

- WAGYU BEEF TARTARE - raw beef doesn't taste much better than this. (Actually it does - go to ink.)

- SWEET ONION SOUP W/ CRAB - Who knew onion soup could be so special?

- CARAMELIZED COD - I have never had bad co...d. With that said, this cod was still amazing. It was cooked to perfection, and the caramel glazing on the outside was just icing on the cake.

- BEEF RIBS - juicy and tender. And this is the first time where I scooped up every last drop of the BBQ sauce.

- CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER, & COFFEE - I am someone who thinks coffee flavored stuff is too under-appreciated. So major upvote to Melisse for featuring a variety of coffee flavored panna cotta and ice cream! It was all so delicious.

- EXTRA DESSERTS! - the matcha green tea macarons are out of this world. What a perfect way to end a fantastic meal.

Service was also top notch.

TL;DR: I had dined twice at Providence on some poor chaps' dime, while I paid for my own meal here, and I still prefer Melisse over Providence. That is how you know a restaurant is good. I want more.
