Allows their staff to be openly transphobic and prejudiced and let s them mistreat, mock, humiliate their patients for their identity and will not hold anyone accountable for these actions. When one goes to the hospital the staffs job is to provide healthcare, NOT to judge or sham patients in any way, shape, or form. Never go here if you want basic human decency from the staff.
My ER stay has been absolutely terrible. The registration lady was the only pro to my visit. No one checked on me for hours and they were super slow with results. Just a shame if a hospital. Then to find out that my results have been present for hours and I had to be told by the dang doctor. My nurse was just absolutely terrible. I feel bad for anyone who has to come here. Never will I be here again.
I can honestly say that if not had been for the team of specialist that treated me here at medstar Washington hospital center it's a very good possibility that I would have lost my foot I'm very grateful for the Drs and staff that treated me especially the Dr that preformed the IND right there in the hallway of the emergency room
DO NOT GO HERE: I went here and after waiting three hours I was met with the doctor through a computer screen( my surprise). I had a sore throat and he didn t see any part of me. I was prescribed ibuprofen and sent on my way. Horrendous quality of care. The next day I went to a real doctor somewhere else where a professional will actually examines you and gives you a diagnosis. The professional doctor I visited found I had a nasal infection and ear infection. I got what I needed and was on my way to getting better. This place is a waste of hours and only will result in a terrible diagnosis by a person from a computer screen. You can get a terrible online diagnosis from a lot of doctors. You don t need to waste three hours going here. This place should not be serving the public.
This hospital lied about performing a procedure to stop a blockage in one of my relatives heart who have congestive heart failure. The next day after the procedure the hospital was ready to discharge the patient. I fought for them to place my relative in rehabilitation, but they refused. Then I found out that they had not performed the procedure and that her blood pressure kept getting high and her blood sugar levels were too low or too high. But they still insisted on releasing her while stating that her insurance did not cover her to stay there any longer. She has Medicaid and Medicare. Also, when I asked why the doctors had not performed the procedure to remove the blockage a staff member stated that the procedure could be done outside the hospital. The point of my family bringing my loved one to the hospital was because of her heart and difficulty breathing. The doctors that cared for my relative and the case workers were of no help. So they've sent her home and now we don't know what's going to happen to her. Btw she's in her 80s.
This hospital will refuse you care or refuse to provide you with the medication you need if you are a Black person. Please avoid if you can
Washington Hospital Center use to be a renowned hospital with the best of the best in medical services! Not! The staff in their ICU were absolutely horrible! Very unprofessional, patient care poorly rendered, their communication was terrible, and their attitudes were less than desirable! We did not want our loved one to go to Washington Hospital Center to begin with- I don t recommend- They are all a bunch of delusional individuals! I will be filing complaints. Choose wisely!
Waited over 3 hours for simple blood work after they skipped my name on the sign in sheets several times then couldn't run my card or take cash because I didnt have 378.23 and attempted to give them 379$ cash since they couldn't get my card to work...
Nurses were great but doctors were really unprofessional beside a couple but their main doctors was super unprofessional by calling his resident on the phone and being put on speaker to talk to me. Didn't care about my mental and well being. Giving false hope on being discharged. Very disappointed would never want be in or near this hospital again.
Worst hospital I ve ever been to! Wouldn t recommend taking my pet fish there. End of life is 2 people. It doesn t matter if you have 3 children. I was told to decide which of my siblings will watch our mother take her last breath. When I asked how I decide that the only they could say was I m sorry. Nobody could seem to explain how we decide which 2 children will watch our mother take her last breath. Stay away from this place! I ve worked at 6 hospitals and not a single one told us to make a choice of which children will stay. Completely unethical and horrible service!
Only good thing I can say is that our neuroscience ICU nurse Caprice was amazing! She listened and did everything in her power to help us. I m just sorry she has to work at such a disgraceful place.
