This is the most unprofessional healthcare facility ever. Where is the health and policy rules that are suppose to be implemented? As I sit in my room, I can see nurses without their masks on. I literally heard a nurse yell at a patient saying she hopes he rips his IV out I will never encourage anyone to come here. If you hate your job quit; this is for people who are passionate and want to help.

I visited the emergency room recently and waited over an hour before asking if a doctor would be visiting me anytime soon. I was told by a staff member, "she said she'll be in shortly." I waited over another hour and inquired again and never got a response. After waiting over three hours to be seen, I redressed and left realizing I wouldn't be properly cared for. I was not acknowledged by anyone at the nurse's station as I walked past them. I was never seen by a doctor. Not one doctor ever came in to greet or treat me. That is unacceptable in a hospital, let alone an emergency room.

Actually had a really good experience overall because of being in the O'Neill unit on the fourth floor. On the day before, when I was in a room on the floor below, I did have a nurse, Gary, try to force a covid test on me, literally sticking that thing up my nose, when I was extremely sensitive and vulnerable at that time, and he yelled at me when I told him to stop. I literally had to try to remove his hand. I was bawling right in front of him and he did not even care. That was a really traumatizing experience for me. But after I got to the fourth floor, I had an excellent experience with a majority of the nurses and techs, except maybe two nurses and one tech. That, along with the awesome room service, decently good food, nice cleaning people and the people that brought me my meals; played the hugest role in me being able to heal. Along with the appropriate medical treatment from the doctors; even though the doctors I had throughout my stay there were not that great, except for maybe one. But I believe they did everything medically right in order to bring me back to good health, and I am thankful for that. A special shout-out to nurses' April, Anne, and Gloria; techs Stephanie, Kelly, and Bernice. All we need is a little more kindness and empathy in this world.

I am not a medical person (layman's knowledge), but I had to go as an emergency patient in an ambulance who thought she was having a heart attack. Although the pain quickly subsided, the personnel at Good Samaritan took really GOOD care of me, were very thorough in their testing and treatment, and were very kind to an older broad who asked a LOT of questions. They treated me like I was special the whole time. And when I had to transfer to Union Memorial for a cardiac catheterization, Union Memorial personnel did the EXACT same thing. Nothing but GOOD THINGS to say about both hospitals.

They are unable to invoice your insurance company correctly!
Guess where they send your bill! Then send you out for private collections and lie to you about doing it.

Here it is several days later and still no response from Medstar beyond apology! Remember this when they ask you to sign personally for their services rendered. If they can not invoice to your insurance companies satisfaction they send you bill even when they say they will not months ago. It maybe time to call CEO! Ill edit this again if they fix situation without a lot of additional effort on my part. I ran customer service department in plastics company. If one of my customers had been this angry, I would have called them myself!
Do I have to name employees by name online to get real fix?

Perfect place if you like waiting almost 4 hours to be seen, and when you ask of your status, the nurse shuffles through triage folders and when they can t find your name they reply, we haven t forgotten about her how and you can t even find the paperwork? Please ask them how much longer, so she can reply can t even begin to tell you after already waiting for four hours. Horrid.

The unbelievable harassment I see at this place needs to stop amongst the nurses around the patients and me. I've been hearing a name going around named Charnette being very rude and disrespectful. I did not enjoy my medical stay here and I hope HR does something about it! It's really unfair.

As I write this, I'm going on my 6th hour of sitting in the waiting room waiting to be seen. Came in for what I believe is likely pneumonia and expressed the trouble I was having breathing. Was immediately given an EKG then told to wait in the waiting room. Called up an hour later and did a urinalysis, bloodwork, and a chest xray, and was sent back to the waiting room again. I arrived at 5 PM and it is now close to 10:30 PM. Have asked multiple times about how much longer but can not be given any kind of ETA. I understand being short staffed and normally try to be patient, but this is ridiculous. With how long they have been around, they should know their limits and be able to determine when to turn patients away if they don't have the staff to handle them. The waiting room was not that packed when I got here, but had I known it would take this long I would've immediately left and went to GBMC or any other hospital rather than having to sit this long just to talk to a single doctor. I truly hope they get it together over the next few years; after tonight I could not rank this hospital to anyone. Would rank 0 stars if I could.

I had the best experience today at the ER. I came with an ambulance and it took about 15 minutes to get me a room. After that I had a nurse (older skinny lady), doctor (my paper says Stefanie Coles), a respiratory person (not sure of his name, older guy with gray hair) and I want to say they all were amazing ! Unfortunately I did not ask their names, I forgot. They really took time to listen and answer my questions, were very nice and caring . I had some giggles with my nurse too, she was coming to me pretty often and she was really the best! The respiratory guy also took time to check me and answer any questions I had. I just felt great with every single person who helped me today . I also had medications that helped me to breathe and I felt a lot better . I was there at around 2:30 pm to 6 pm . Thank you a lot!
