We are customers of Meditrade UK and have been for a while. I have never experienced any issues but the true test of a company in my eyes is how they respond not when things are going well, but when there is a customer issue.

We ordered from them very recently and when the product arrived, there was only a three month expiry date on it. We went back immediately to Meditrade UK as nobody had been in contact prior to sending to inform us that they were short dated and make sure that would not be an issue.
Had they done that, we would have cancelled the order as these were items for stock and a three month shelf life is absolutely no use either for us or for our customers.

The initial response was that these were the only dates they had in stock at that time. At that point we requested the gloves were collected back and credited in full as they were not fit for purpose.

The response that was received was extremely disappointing. Any stock required with more than three months of expiry must be requested on the PO at time of ordering. Therefore we could return at our cost with a 20% restocking fee or keep the goods. As far as they were concerned, they have done everything that they needed to and there is no fall back for selling short dated stock without first informing the customer.

It is now costing us not just the return fee, but the credit will be minus a 10% restocking fee, (something the manager seems to think makes up for the distinct lack of customer care), and minus their original delivery fee for something which is not fit for purpose.

As a supplier, I am astounded that this is considered acceptable within the medical industry, especially considering we have never experienced an issue with any of the numerous other suppliers that we use. We do not make a habit of returning anything, and expected a much better service from a group as large as Meditrade.

To say we are disappointed is without a doubt an understatement. We will not be using this company again.
