Poor customer service and payments. Would only pay $1300 to have 4 wisdom teeth removed (with sedation) and said that was an average amount to pay. I called six offices and fount no less than a charge of $3900.

This insurance company really deserves no stars. Perhaps, it deserves not to exist. Everything about it - from robot-like customer service to complete disregard for clients - is repulsive. Inconsistency, total absence of transparency, and obvious incompetence - that is all that you can expect from MedCost of North Carolina. Lying, scamming - frankly, disgusting group. How do they get contracts with various employers?
That is a subject for local attorney general to discover.

My kids and I have been switched to my spouses plan since March 2021, we still have not received our insurance cards and can not pick up our prescriptions because they show no proof of insurance. We have spoken to multiple people with this company and supplied them with all of the pertinent information; however, they still do not have us on my wife s plan. It seems there is nobody that can help.

Addendum: Tina from Medcost reached out to my wife immediately after this and fixed the issue. I submitted this in desperation to get anyone to help and Medcost came through. The REAL problem is Atrium Health's HR Benefits Department but they have wisely chosen to exempt themselves from google reviews so teammates and their families cannot let anyone know that their department is subpar for industry standards. My wife has worked there for 16 years and the amount of frustration and work she has had to do just to obtain benefits AFFORDED TO HER BY LAW is absolutely unacceptable. Let's hope the largest healthcare system in the region DOES BETTER BY THEIR EMPLOYEES and families! @atriumhealth #atriumhealth
