Med Center South Review

My only complaint is that I had to sit in the exam room for over an hour. Other than that, the doctor was great & the staff friendly & professional!!

I rate you guy's a 5! You all are very professional and kind. The sincere care that you all give is heart warming... Thank you all so very much!

I normally go here when I can't get to my personal private doctor. I can't say that I've had a bad experience. I was there Friday and I was seen promptly and treated nicely by the staff.

Went to Medcenter South due to the hours of operation. Front desk staff on both occasions are very unpleasant people to come in contact with. This medical facility lobby was nasty both times I've been there. I've come in contact with six different front desk personnel and all six equally disturbing to be The first point of contact. On a second note however doctors's and nurse practitioners very concerned respectful and caring. It's sad that you can have excellent doctors but the front desk staff kills the business, unfortunate for the Doctors's here HR or management has hired poor front desk employees. It's very unfortunate because I did like the doctor I saw however seeing a wonderful doctor is not worth the aggravation of her front desk staff. Hospitality and respect go along ways, people should take ownership of how they present themselves in place of business, public eye.

I go to MedCenter South for all my Urgent Care needs. Professional staff is spot on when prescribing for my condition. Staff is friendly and efficient. They score 5 of 5 for best Urgent Care facility in Tuscaloosa.

Very friendly staff, quality care. I had a severe allergic reaction to poison ivy. They got me fixed up quickly. Steroid shot, ointment and an antihistamine, feel much better now.

I was so blessed to visit MedCenter. They stay until 8 pm. I got such wonderful-loving care from the entire staff, from the nurse at the front door, to the nurse who cared for me in the waiting room. The Dotors are great there, so kind and caring. And prompt . I didn t have to wait long, I was in and out in good time. I will definitely visit there again, if need be. I highly recommend MedCenter South. Love you guys.

Close to my job always have friendly staff and wait times are normally minimum

The staff and the doctor was very friendly, caring, and considerate. Fast service...we were in and out in about 35 minutes I think. I just know that it didn't seem long at all.

The doctors and staff at Med Center South are wonderful. Don't waste your time at Med Center NORTH!!! The staff is EXTREMELY rude. I have to drive across town to go to MC South....North is closer to me, but EVERY time I've been there they were extremely rude. Love MC South!

The registration was quick. I was called back promptly and the doctor came in within 20 minutes. The exam and tests were very thorough. The doctor answered all my questions and I was out in less than 1 hour. Very dood visit

I had a diverticulitis flare up, I checked in only a 5 minute wait till I was in triage, saw the dr.then the lady was there to draw blood, only a short wait on the xray tech then dr. was back scripts wrote, I was on my way. I Love this place.

My daughter fell and hit her head that left a small gash on her forehead. My neighbors recommended MedCenter South and I'm so glad they did. The staff was absolutely superb. They took excellent care of my daughter, who is 2 and was scared. They gave her lots of stickers and crayons to color with, which helped her be more at ease. I loved that the doctor and the nurses told me what they were doing and why. I greatly appreciated that. I only waited for maybe 10 minutes in the waiting area which was fantastic. If I ever need to use an urgent care again I will definitely come here again and recommend them to everyone.

The doctor they have there was very thorough and actually treated me like a person, rather than a number. Fast and easy service.

I checked in online I was texted when I had 1 person in front of me and I wasn t there an hour. That was getting X-rays, flu swap and strep test! Very friendly and very quick!

We were visiting from out of town when my 10 yr old hurt himself. Medcenter South was 10 minutes away so I took my son there. I was very impressed with the staff professionalism. Everyone was very caring and on top of that they got us in and out within an hour!! Thank you Medcenter South!!

Fast friendly service.really cares about there patients.

They greeted me time I walked through the door with a smile and asked me could they me.I didn't have to wait long before I was called to the back nor to see the doctor and I was out in no time.

Highly recommended for urgent care. The staff is very friendly and the service excellent in my past several visits. I have been using this clinic for about 10 years.They promptly refer you to other facilities if additional scans such as MRIs or specialized physicians are needed. The physicians and crnps are highly skilled and knowledgeable.

Checked in online and had virtually no wait. I was able to receive iv fluids and the meds i needed to feel much better. Very good care.

Busy times verry with time of day. Mostly in AM. After 6 much better.

Our twin boy had to be seen last night, and every nurse and doctor we saw were so sweet and understanding with them both. They made sure to give them stickers and a little snack to keep them happy!

Office staff was very nice and friendly. Physician was thorough. Wait time was less than 1 hour.

They are efficient every time. They ask the right questions, listen and deliver to suit your needs to feel better! This is my go when My daughter or I am sick or unwell!!

Don't come to this location if you want good service. There are 6 ladies at the front but it took them over an hour to check you in.

I absolutely loved the option to check in from home. They really move fast but you feel well cared and taken care of. They really go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable when you leave.

Friendly courteous staff from the parking lot until I left. I have used MedCenter South on other occasions for minor cough and flu like illness. Every visit has been very good. I hope to not have a need to return however if and when, MedCenter South is my choice. Thanks everyone! Job well done. The future of health care

I had the worst experience everrrr last night. I went in last night around 9:20 as soon as I came in the girl was not friendly, I guess because of the time I came in. When I got called to the back the girl was flying through the questions & one girl trying to swab me at the same time. I waited an 1 & 1/2 to see a doctor. He came in & said "looks like you might have an ear infection & your throat is red but I can prescribe you some medicine." I'm sitting there like, that's not telling me what's wrong with me. Basically nobody told me what's wrong with me until they were grabbing their bags heading out the door.

The staff here is very friendly and have great people skills .. The Dr was very friendly and diagnosed the problem quickly and effectively .. I wasn't there much more than 30-35 minutes .. Keep up the great work

So happy someone finally came up with a plan on how to NOT make every sick person in the county sit in one room waiting to see a doctor. Signing in online is the BEST. Doctors very helpful and staff nice.

MedCenter South is the best place to go in Tuscaloosa. As an out of state college student, I don t have a primary care physician here & theyee always available for walk ins. I ve had some pretty bad experiences in town with not being taken seriously at a doctor s office or something similar because I m a 20 yr old student. However, that s never the case here. The staff at MedCenter listen to you and do their best to help you get better. They re great!

We got there almost at closing time. We had already signed in at home and we almost went straight back to a room. They handled her diagnosis and treatment very quickly and kindly and we were out the door!! Quickest visit I have had. Love the new check in by phone system!!!

Very helpful and concerned about my injury. The visit was very quick, and all issues were addressed.

From the time I signed in until the time I exited the building, I was there just over an hour. I like that I was able to sit in my car instead of in the waiting room so I wasn't exposed to other germs. I saw Josh, the nurse practitioner. He really listened to everything I said. (The Dr came in too but he was in and out in 2 seconds. I think he was just making sure he agreed with Josh's assessment.) All employees that I interacted with were very nice and professional.

Fast efficient service, in and out in 30 min, takes insurance and case/credit cards.! Cost of visit if no insurance starts at 100 but will depend on what has to be gone for your situation. Have used this facility with results every visit

i walked in for a brown recluse spider bite and before i could pay the copay they closed when i was on the waiting list to be seen. this place is terrible! they have snotty attitudes and do not care about anyone but theirselves.

Miscommunication that will cause me tremendous problems and stress. Will never go back.

Dr. Hwang was very nice! I was in and out in under 30 minutes. And Marquita gave great shots! The whole staff was friendly and very professional. Great experience!

Not a pleasant experience at all today...

When I got to the back with my son the nurse began triage. She asked if I wanted him swabbed for strep. The nurse said the test was "20% accurate". I told her I didn't want it if that were the case. She said the Dr. would still want it done. She said it would take 5 minutes to read.

Over an hour later, no one else came to the room. I went to the desk (where at least 5 nurses were congregating) to ask what was going on especially after seeing others who arrived long after us leave. I was told it was probably because they had a lot of things to do for my son. I told her the only that had been done was a swab and that the Dr. had not even seen him yet.

About 20 minutes or so later, the Dr. came in for about 3-5 minutes. The swab was reportedly negative. Although she was nice, the overall experience had been ruined at that point.

I usually love this place. So, I'm not sure what was going on today...

This was my second visit within a 2 month period. Once during the week because of a pulled muscle and yesterday s visit was for a sports physical for my daughter and both times the staff was super sweet and caring. The environment is clean and pleasant. I will most definitely recommend friends and family to MedCenter South any day!!!

I really like going to Med Center South Urgent Care because it's convenient and they treat you and get you out. Many times, I've gone there and received a diagnosis with treatment. The staff is very nice and that makes a difference. I'd recommend them

Med Center South is so convenient because they accept my insurance and they diagnose, treat and release. I'm satisfied with their service. The staff is professional and courteous. I've been going there for quite a few years now and I highly recommend their service to anyone that wants to be treated right.

For to Med-Center 45 minutes before. Everyone there were very professional and patience. No one was rushing to get out they took their time with me and totally appreciate that.

Very friendly staff. New electronic sign-in tablet streamlines the process and updates you on your wait time. Very professional and helpful.

The nursing staff were excellent and helped me to fill papers and the doctors were very excellent

I was able to sign in online as I was leaving work, arrived and went straight in to register , was taken straight back to get vitals , was examined and treated and out the door all within 30 min or less. The staff were courteous, observed social distancing, and very professional. The facility was very clean, obviously modified to allow for social distancing , except for my reason to be there, was a very pleasant an comfortable visit. Great job! It s comforting having this Med Center in our Community near Taylorville.

The staff at Med Center South were friendly and very professional . I would like to thank them for being so caring and gentle doing my care. I appreciate them getting me to the back quickly because I was in so much pain. I thought I needed or should have went to the hospital, but I did not need them knowing I probably would have been there all night. The doctor explained everything she had to do, was doing, and made sure I was ok doing her procedure. I would recommend Med Center South to everyone in need of medical care after their doctor's office has closed.

My first time here was when I had the flu, but couldn t get to my normal doctor and didn t want to spend hours in the ER. Service was quick and my nurses and Doctors were great. Literally spent 1hr and 45 mins from check in to leave time.They were really busy and still worked quickly. Will definitely go go back if I ever need to!

I was met at door by staff. I did not know you could check in on line and she was very agitated. I ask how long the wait was and once again she was agitated. I told her I had high fever cough and contact with Covid 19 and was having trouble breathing. I was an ER nurse many years and I was told to go wait in my car and they would text me and it would be at least an hour. Let me repeat, I told this female staff member I could not breathe and probably had Covid 19 and was told to wait an hour in my car. I try to avoid the ER but I know this would never happen there. I left went to Med Center North and was treated immediately with Dr coming in room immediately. Please, everyone, be careful going to MC South. Sorry Dr Posey old friend for this bad review. I'm from out of town ! I had to make a choice between shutting my 18 wheeler down or keep moving ! I shut it down !!! You guys were awesome . I couldn't have picked a better place to get the care I needed . Thanks

The wait time is ridiculous.. I have been here for over an hour and a half and the place isn't even busy. Will go to AFC next time.

Professional, friendly staff. Reasonable wait time. My issue was addressed and I was on my way.

Awful experience. I went at night two hours before they closed and the waiting room was packed! Waited over 3 hours just to see a doctor. The girls up front were extremely rude and acted as if they we being inconvienced when dealing with my insurance. Do not come here. It will be worth your while to go somewhere else.

I was seen at Med Center South on November 1 and had wonderful care! I was in and out in less than an hour. Dr. Posey saw me and quickly diagnosed me. The nurse did a great job with my injections and the prescriptions had already been sent to my drug store before I arrived!

Clean facility and if I must say they also have great staff who really took the time to listen to me about all of my health concerns and got me taking care of in the timely manner

I was a student at the University and went here NUMEROUS times. You might as well be dead if you go to DCH so I looked for alternative options and this place was PHENOMENAL. The wait was 10 minutes, the doctors were incredibly nice and caring. Really hate that I moved to Birmingham but honestly I might just drive an hour just for this place.

I went in there on a Sat after I left another clinic where the Dr was very rude and lied and said nothing was wrong. So I go to the desk and I can't see very well and the lady at the front desk just keyed my name in since I couldn't see it good. I sat down for 2 sec and they called me back. I told the Dr. the same thing I told the other one and he was very kind and understanding and did see something wrong with my ear and mouth. Ty med South for taking care of my needs instead of being rude and not wanting to be bothered by me.

Nice Dr's office, but make sure you have the nurse read off what they feel your issue is, what they will report on your physicians statement. They summarized what I stated to them, which of course left out information. So be careful because they're quick but sometimes being quick isn't the best thing.
