Excellent small venue for seeing a concert! Very accessible and good views from all seats. They also have free concerts, to go with world class virtuoso performances! And, students get ridiculously discounted tickets too!

This is the primary performance hall for the University of Washington and I have seen many performances here over the years. It's about a 1200 seat capacity venue and set up in such a way that there really is not a poor seat in the house. It's probably the easiest in and out access of any live theater in town and the house manager and staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great seating, variety of snacks and small selection of beverages. Need to eat and drink before going into seating. Also, best to go early to find close parking inside of garage on same level as theatre.

Beautiful setting for a concert. Four stars because they close the box office after the show starts, so people can not enter late. This is absurd because students are rushing straight from class to see performances at Meany, but are denied entry

Good to be back, the ambiance is excellent and all the people very nice. There only drawback to an older building is the bathrooms are in the basement and our seats and the water fountain on the balcony but the performances are usually worth it.

Excellent place for music, terrible place for humans. Seats are worse than your worst nightmare airplane ride. How am I supposed to enjoy the music when I m in pain the whole time?

Pretty interesting displays of local artists. But overall it s a rather expensive night out, and a very uncomfortable one.

Now I see why they call it Meany.

Great acoustics and quite a lovely season of performances here this year---at more affordable ticket prices than Benaroya. You may find the cushions available in the lobby for borrowing during the concert to help the comfort level of Meany's theatre-style seats. Park in the garage below the hall--it's worth the cost, as parking in the U-district is hard to find. However, be sure to note well floor and direction where you parked, as the garage is a labyrinth and easy to get lost in. Our first time there, we spent 45 minutes after the concert wandering the garage trying to find our car! In recent years I've subscribed to the President's Piano Series and the Chamber Music Series, and found both to be excellent, varied, and well worth your time and investment.

Great venue to showcase Morningstar's music shows! Wonderful acoustics and nice chairs. One thing is there should be an opening in the middle of the main seating area for easier access to bathrooms instead of passing through to get to the end of an aisle. Cannot bring drinks into the Hall.

Ok I know folks from Seattle will just love their art and music venues. The building architecture entrance stairs and art are inviting. However the concert hall falls short. The acoustics are moderate, the piano and cello might have reverberated in other venues, but not Meany hall. The hall is neither grand nor intimate, it is an awkward in between size.

Meany theater does not have a single bad seat. The Dance series is probably the highest quality dance program and I never had a bad experience. I am always amazed at the performers they bring from all over the world.

Outside of the building and architecture holds alot of seattle history. With that said I find it ugly. The inside though has perfect seating and fantastic acoustics. Perfect place in any seat to watch a performance. Not a bad seat in the house.

Fantastic venue with great acoustics. I'm a fan of Meany Center's World Dance series where they feature a decent variety of contemporary troupes from around the world (and the US). Their other series are excellent as well. The audiences are generally well informed and for Piano or Chamber Music, that usually translates to a little less background noise, coughing, etc than one suffers through at Benaroya :)

Out of date venue for large concerts. Stuffy air, small bathrooms only on upper and lower floors. Allowing seating during performances is bad form! Great acoustics and beautiful aesthetics. Nice cocktail and coffee bar.

The garage is reminiscent of that episode of Seinfeld where they wandered the garage with a goldfish and by the time they found their car it was dead. I'm glad I did not have a goldfish. Oh, great venue though, good acoustics.

Wonderful performance hall at University of Washington. Acoustics are great. They offer special events such as the world dance series, but also very affordable and enjoyable student performances! I personally like watching the UW orchestras and symphonies play there.

Attended the sold out Anita Hill talk and was very impressed with the staff. Tickets for this event ended up selling out very quickly and I was unable to get one, however, they included information about standby tickets which asked folks to show up at least 30 mins before the event. I arrived at 6:45 and there were already 50 people in line. UW students/staff were having people write down their payment information in case there was room for them to attend. They were super kind and patient. The line endes up growing to what appeared to be roughly 100 people in standby, and they got all of us signed up in a timely manner. As it ended up, I believe all of us were able to make it in and we sat in the balcony which gave a great view of the stage. As a anti-sexual.and relationship violence activist amd survivor.this event meant the world to me and the theatre director, who I was able to speak with after the event let me write a thank you note to Christine Blasey Ford who had surprised the audience by introducing Dr.Hill. The director brought the note back to her and was kind enough to update me afterwards amd share that she had read it in front of them and was very touched by it. The student staff who I had met while filling out my payment.before the event was equally amazing and said that if I didnt make it into the event that I should find her and see what strings she could pull since this is my field of.work. Overall, I was.extremely.impressed with how the event was organized.and look forears to attending more events here.

Great venue with genuinely interesting art pieces both in the lobby and on the stage with a student run staff more professional and friendlier than their "professional" counterparts in other theaters in the Seattle area.

This place is crazy cool! As an engineering student it's easy to get stuck in the engineering side of campus where everyone's a huge nerd but this hall is such a wonderful escape from all that.
