I had the opportunity to play this hidden gem today and had a wonderful experience. The greens were very receptive, although they were a little slower than I would have anticipated. The course was in excellent condition and I was very pleased with the professionalism of the staff. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and will definitely return again. On a side note, I agree with the previous reviews that the carts here are second to none.

Had an afternoon tee time today at The Meadows, the course and facilities exceeded my expectations. The carts are the nicest I've ever seen, the pro shop and practice facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly. The course itself was in great shape. It's score-able if you can get off the tee box and manage some wedge shots. I will be returning soon. I would like to reiterate that the carts, especially the seating in the carts are elite.

Arguably the best public golf course in Minnesota. Beautiful golf holes, always in perfect shape, challenging but not penal, exceptional sand traps and lots of different tees boxes for different abilities.
You won t be disappointed with the course.

The only downside I can pick out is that there really is no clubhouse feel at the 19th hole. The food is good and there is a nice bar, but it s part of the casino so golfers eating or drinking there will be overwhelmed by casino patrons.

But...I think it is the best public course in Minnesota.

This is one of the most beautiful golf courses that I have seen. All of the employees are courteous and presentable. They gave us the pleasure of riding around in the cart to take pictures for this review. Here are some of the pictures that we captured.
Thank you again for allowing us to do this!

For all of the rave reviews this course gets by the media, I was very unimpressed. The greens were badly damaged on most all the holes (not sure if it's from disease or winter damage.. hopefully disease since I played in late July), all of the low areas were saturated and drawing water, and the tee boxes were torn up and for the most part, not on level ground which is one of my biggest pet peeves.

I took advantage of their super twilight and finished just as the sun was going down. $40 with cart is a very good price for this course. I'd never pay the $80 or whatever they charge during peak hours, however. To go along with the maintenance issues, many of which make it painfully obvious that this course was built on a swamp, the layout itself is very annoying. At least half of the non-par 3s had blind tee shots. There are also only a handful of holes out here that you can hit driver, which again is a huge pet peeve. Oh, and I almost forgot, NO ALCOHOL???? What kind of bunk golf course doesn't allow alcohol?? It's the same ridiculous policy as their casino, which is by far the worst money pit in the state. You can smoke up the place but you can't knock back a cold one.. what a disgrace.

Positives: GPS on carts made the blind tee shots slightly more tolerable. The staff was very friendly. The pro shop was gorgeous and the carts were by far the best I've ever ridden in. Many of the holes are very cool after the tee shot - tough shots over water to island-like greens, long irons or hybrids to reachable par 5s, and short irons over massive greenside bunkers to elevated greens are frequent approaches.

Overall, I was simply disappointed. I'd played a similar course - Legends - the weekend before and that was leaps and bounds better than anything Meadows could hope to be. A big part of the problem is probably the rich entitled pricks that play the place who don't appreciate the game enough to fix their ball marks or divots, contributing to the unacceptable condition of the greens and teeboxes. Combine that with a crappy layout and diseased/damaged greens, and the only word that comes to mind is overrated.

Hotel told us one rate for the course for staying at the casino and then the club house said was not true. That there was no discount for staying at the Hotel. And there was nothing they could do about it. Nice course but lack of communication makes it not worth coming back.

I think the Meadows is a hidden gem at the casino. We always go there to eat. The food and service are very good. It is a nice atmosphere overlooking the golf course. We had the NOLA shrimp appetizer and it is delicious.

Course is in terrible shape for charging $100+ normal rates. Greens conditions are par with what you would expect in April(writing this Mid August). I understand that we are in a pandemic, but that should be no excuse for a top tier course in the metro.

We got there at 4:30, but they open at 5:00. We were reminded politely about the time, yet invited in to pick a table and relax. From that point on the service was very attentive and helpful . The menu is not over bearing and the prices fair. I have one complaint, I was encouraged to order the Tenderloin, and that it had been modified recently to be more tender. The sauce/ gravy and mashed potatoes were good enough they should have served with a spoon too to get it all out of the bowl. However they need to change the name of the tasty dish and charge a few dollars less. It contains beef all right, tough stew meat squares. There are in no way tenderloin medallions in the bowl. Bottom line , rename the dish and lower the price by a few dollars and beef lovers won t be disappointed, feeling duped like I did.
