My husband drives for this company. They are a wonderful company and actually care about their employees. I'm grateful that they allow me to ride with him. We're looking forward to a long career with them.
My 1st day here and it seems to be ok. You're working 14h a day from 7am-9pm during your training period. So far the honesty seems to be here on everything you do
Driver carelessly cut us off. No turn signal. Moved to middle lane while the right lane was still available. Had to brake on highway without time to maintain a safe following distance, because we could not get left. If your job is to be driving a vehicle, you need to drive it correctly. Company should hold drivers accountable, especially since the company name is identifiable on the truck they are driving. Very poor representation of your business.
Good company to train with but miles sometimes fluctuate a pretty good bit. Good thing about the company is they have a driver pay minimum so you aren't completely out in the dark and the benefits are above average for a trucking company and the tractors are usually new and the trailers are decent and cooperate is down to earth and usually the fleet managers are nice as long as you're respectful to them. You won't get rich but you can earn a living with McElroy. I enjoyed working for McElroy.
I got a lot more for my buck when my Family and I went with McElroy! They have the same values as me! Don't be afraid of the flat bed challenge!
10/2020 Update!! Im still here! Everyone has to write their own story and there is more than one side to it. Im a Driver Mentor now, loving what I do and the company that pays me to do it.....

Good starting job entering into the world of heavy machine operations.
Do not go here. Terrible experience here. My trainer thought it was okay to talk to me as if I was his child. I called the corporate office in Alabama told them my issue and I was told that s his truck he kinda can do things the way he want which it is not it s the company truck he is a company driver!! They never told him anything about my situation simply told me that s his truck deal with it. Don t waste your time here!
Don't do it. You will be treated poorly. Belittled, overworked during training, discriminated against. Talked down to like a dog. Just one of their monkey's at the good ole boys circus (They make up rules as they go).If you get down on your knees and kiss their alabama behinds' then you might make it. I read the reviews and didn't take their advice. Bad mistake. You have been warned.
