Just left the emergency department after sitting here for almost two hours with my best friend who is struggling to breathe, her pulse was high and oxygen was low and they did absolutely nothing for her. Left her waiting in the triage room. She s extremely asthmatic and is struggling to breathe and they literally did not care at all. This place is a joke and I hope they close it down! If I could give a zero star I would.

my mom said this hospital is known as mckill em and hide em because most everyone who goes here comes out worse than when they came in. ong kinda hilarious
I have several family members to get their Covid vaccine at your hospital. Each one has stated how great they were treated. The way the whole process from registration to the shot it self went very smoothly. Each staff member took time to greet them and explain what would happen next. The nurses gave them information on what to do to lessen the possible discomfort from the injection, and to make a copy of their card. I have scheduled over 20 family and friends at other locations for the vaccine and even though the experience was not bad, it was no where as nice and informative as the experience at your hospital and with your staff. Everyone from the person who is organizing the vaccine injections, to the person who signs them in, volunteers, nurses, etc. should be praised for a job well done. Thank you
My husband recently had knee surgery there and I can t say enough about how thoughtful and caring the employees are. It isn t just the nursing staff (who are wonderful) but every person we encountered from nutrition to housekeeping to physical therapy to respiratory therapy- even the dear gentleman who asked to take my temperature upon entering were professional and courteous. My grandson was born there and it was the same; helpful and considerate. This is a wonderful hospital. It s big enough to get the job done and small enough to get the personal touches that make every patient feel like they matter.
Was admitted here recently, although I live 35 miles away from this hospital, they treated me like a 5 Star General. Great and caring team and friendly doctor. They allowed my wife to sit by my side the entire time unlike the hospital (Mercy Fairfield) back at home.
People in the medical field don't get enough credit for the job they do! Thank you for helping to direct me where to go and for handling my medical records. God has blessed you ALL with a kind heart to helping others. Keep up the good work!
My daughter is 19. Since birth, she has struggled with life-threatening allergies and asthma and has had way too many trips to the ER because of anaphylactic shocks. Those incidents are extremely scary and can be fatal. She swells up like a balloon, becomes rash-y and itchy, and she starts gasping for air; she feels like she s going to die because her airways constrict to the point that they block her breathing. That is what anaphylaxis is, and it puts you into a state of shock and extreme fear. It can be fatal if medical attention isn t provided right away. My daughter has such a reaction a few months ago after accidently ingesting ice-cream that had cashews, one the foods she is most allergic to. The minute the ice-cream touched her throat, she knew it contains something she shouldn t have. She immediately took an antihistamine and stabbed herself with a dose of epinephrine, but it wasn t enough. She has had enough of these reactions in her lifetime to know when it is something she could deal with herself or if she needs to call 911. One of her roommates who s a nursing student rushed her to the ER. They arrive to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in the middle of the night. She can barely breathe and she is very scared. Instead of being kind and reassuring and providing immediate medical attention, the nurses start treating her like a hysterical teenager, telling her to stop hyperventilating. Meanwhile, they pump her full of more epinephrine, which makes her heart race and makes her even more scared. They also nonchalantly tell her the pulmonology department isn t available or responding to come help with her breathing. Then after they finally make it there and she is somewhat stable, they tell her that they need to transfer her to a hospital in Cincinnati and that it will cost her 2K. when she asks to be kept there instead of being shipped to another hospital, the doctor on call tells her that she is basically signing off on her death. She felt like she was going to die that night. And, yes, there are many fatal anaphylactic incidents because of medical incompetence. But this should never happen. Please STOP treating young women as though they have hysteria. Those ideas belong in the 1800s. Do NOT jeopardize their lives because YOU think these are being too emotional during a life-threatening anaphylactic shock. My daughter was gasping for air and fearing for her life. This was NOT her first anaphylactic shock and she TOLD you so. I pray she never has another anaphylactic reaction in her life, ever. But if she does, I hope she will be treated with the utmost respect and care possible. And I hope you will start treating all of your patients that way, regardless of their age or gender.
My son had sever abdominal pain, went to The ER, then they admitted him for the next day appendectomy surgery, due to many bad reviews, I was thinking to move him to Nationwide Hospital as my brother works there as an anesthesiologist, but because my son was in sever pain we decided to go with them for surgery in the next day early morning, I am a veterinarian and was watching how they were dealing with my son, don t like to forget names but ER doctor and RN I think her name is Michelle were very professional with dealing with my son pain, admitted him in in a very short time, then we went to a room for preparation for the surgery, two RN Paul, and Mike they were so cooperative discussed all medications were given to my son, overnight they watched over him hourly, then on the surgery day RN Tamara did an awesome job, I was so stressed she was asking about my son in the surgery room and kept updated me, after surgery Dr Dugger came and talked with me about the surgery and possible complications, told me everything about surgical procedure and post surgical competition, my son came to the room 30 minutes later, was in pain RN Tamara was following him and gave him many medications, 3 hours later we left the hospital drove back to Columbus, he was about 60% normal, ate and slept 4 hours later he is 100% normal. For sure, I do respect all bad and good reviews, but this is my experience with this place, all people that I have been dealing with were amazing, my son now after almost 12 hours from the surgery is perfect, may God bless you all, you MADE A GREAT JOB!! Thanks
