Went to see A Christmas Carol and the production was impeccable. They were able to bring out such raw emotion in scene sequences and the costumes were magnificent. I loved everything from their organization to the show itself. If you are a fan of the Arts and love giving back to the community, this is a great activity for couples and family alike.

Beautiful venue with great acoustics.
I've been to a mcCarter half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. There are plenty of friendly volunteers to help you. Free parking garage within a five minute walk. The lines for concessions and rest rooms are long as in any theater. I would highly reccomend.

McCarter Theatre is a quality venue with not a bad seat in the house. I have seen plays and shows of various venues. The shows have always been of high quality. I recommend this Theatre.

Parking is free in the deck but, it is a walk so be prepared for the weather. Any other parking is on the street and needs to be paid for before 8pm 7 days a week. Payment is only via an app or automated machine.

Beautiful charming theatre in the heart of Princeton. Non-profit theatre, with professional actors and quality productions. Various types of shows, progressive and socially conscious programming. If in the area, definitely worth the visit!

Excellent shows put on in this theater. Parking is limited close to the theater unless you are lucky to get a street spot. Most of the time you have to park in the garage behind the Wawa and walk. Not that bad if you are young and fit and have a good coat in the winter. (No place to check your coat in the theater however - unless I just haven't found it in the last 20 years). There are numerous after school programs for kids interested in acting. Good place to see Chinese Acrobats, David Sedaris, and Christmas Carol, although the redesign of Christmas Carol is sorely missing the amazing dance scene at Fezziwigs from the 2006-2014 version.

There are balcony seats but no elevator. (They were gracious enough to swap out tickets for house seats in the orchestra.) C'mon folks, this is 2020. Also, parking is still problematical. Great show, though.

We saw A Christmas Carole. It was great! I would go see it again. The facility itself was perfectly laid.out and there was zero confusion of where to go. We parked down the road a little but it wasn't a terrible walk.

Attended opening night for The Princeton Festival production of Madama Butterfly. The set was breathtaking, the orchestra perfection, the costumes were dazzling, and the singing glorious. Bravi, tutti!!!

Saw a performance of Frankenstein and it was excellent! A lot of setup in the first act and great action in the second. Really enjoyed it. They also always have an incredible performance of A Christmas Carol that doesn't leave a dry eye in the audience. Beautiful venue and exceptional artistry.

Cozy auditorium in the heart of Princeton. Parking is close at West garage. With nearby restaurant and close to downtown, excellent place to spend time for concerts. The auditorium is clean and staff is friendly. Only issue is seats have tight legroom.

As a performing arts venue and cultural institution, McCarter knows what it is doing and what its goals are, and does so incredibly well. The range of programming, community events, educational opportunities, etc. are endless. Having the hub of Downtown Princeton just streets away and being connected to the University is wonderful. Highly recommended trip to make to the theater, be it in the smaller Berlind theatre or the large Matthews theatre, there is almost always something exciting happening!

I've been a few times with family for the yearly Christmas Carol performance, and it's always excellent. From what I've seen they have some other interesting new shows and classics as well year round.

This is one of my favorite places to see theatre in the country. They do poignant, timely pieces that reflect the times. Both spaces are beautiful and comfortable. I've seen plays in the Berlind and large scale productions like "A Christmas Carol" in the Matthews. My whole family attended a sensory friendly performance of "A Christmas Carol" in December and it was a really great experience. So glad theatres like McCarter are making the arts accessible to everyone!
