1st time there. Passing thru Fairmont & this came up as 4.7 rating on Fairmont restaurant. Nice, friendly, family feel restaurant. Good food

Freshly, made to order breakfast! Freshly sliced veggies for omelets and sandwiches including hot peppers, green peppers, mushrooms and onions! Yummy!

Tim makes a great effort to want you to come back. So we do. Their breakfasts are super.

One of the best places to be employed. Also has the best Provolone, Oliverios Peppers, and mushrooms omelet!! Best in Town

Had turkey club and fish sammy. Was fine. Good coffee.

Food use to be great 5 stars, then they either switched cooks or supplier because last couple times food was bad (same orders that use to be great).

The more breakfast restaurants I go to across the country, the higher my standards. If it doesn't taste better than what you can make at home, why go? Good service, but never got my side of home fries. It wasn't busy so I can't let that slide. Disappointed that home fries didn't come with the meal in the first place. I did love to see homemade raisin toast though.

Always great service as well as great freshly prepared food.

The only bad thing about the restaurant: they only take cash and it's a decent hike to an ATM. All that aside, it's a wonderfully quaint restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food.

Good food, a little pricey for breakfast though. I guess they want to make their monet early since they close at 1:30 on Saturdays.

Best omelets anywhere! Friendly hometown restaurant!

Me and my wife and Step-son were the Saturday Nov 3rd the place was not real busy. We sat down and waited for waitress or waiter for 15 mins and never even came to the table to see if we wanted drinks or food. While we watched the young man wipe tables down and just acted like we were not there.So we got up and started to leave the young man looked at us and said Have a good day. I said really did he just say that. Very bad no service.

Great home cooking! Staff from servers to the cooks are friendly. Family owned! Always good portions for a great price!

Oh everything is just great here, fast service, great food I could eat here everyday and not get tired of it...

They don't skimp on the bacon which is why I gave it a best ever.

If your not eating from the "Secret" menu well then your just not eating well oh lousy tippers need not ask you will be denied lol awesome family environment I absolutely love the place thanks guys!!!

this is quite a fascinating place to stop and get a great breakfast or lunch the food is out of this world the staff are so nice and friendly the memorabilia that's in here is worth your time to just to look at it I'll be back Gary Taylor. My family started going to a Mcateers since we were very young. Going after church on Sundays and eating home cooked meals and enjoying the company. Just went for breakfast today - first time since COVID and the food is just as good as it was when I was growing up. It is some of the best breakfast food I have ever had! Recommend to anyone!

If you're looking for great american food with a hometown feel then this is the place. In Fairmont you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else with such great food, good prices, and an atmosphere that'll make you feel at home. If you get the chance, stop by around St. Patrick's Day when McAteer's Irish roots make it the "Best Place in Town!"

Excellent family owned lunch and breakfast spot, across the street from Fairmont State. Omletes pancakes and burgers are so good, a must visit every time I am in Fairmont.

Great place that ppl don't talk about much. Love the location and how close it is to campus. Can walk if you cross the road. Great food, but I'm a sucker for mom and pop breakfast places. If you're an early morning coffee person I'd recommend this place

Very good food and the service is fast & friendly. The place is dated but clean and has a charm about it. Only giving four stars because they don't accept debit cards, only cash or check.

I've been there a few times now the Reuben is absolutely delicious and it is a good size. I've also had the sausage gravy and biscuits they are absolutely delicious and very good portion size I've had their deep fried breaded mushrooms also delightful and a good-sized portion. From what I can tell all the food is a great quality and good size portions. The wait staff is also wonderful and kind. One thing to note it is a cash only place so you better have your cash on hand it is also self- seating and when you're done you pay at the register their menu is also quite extensive

Super cute diner. It has a welcoming feeling, and the staff are wonderful! I have never had a bad waiter, nor a bad plate of food from there!

First of all, the waffle alone is worth the visit! It has some crunchy sweet deliciousness baked in.
They keep your coffee warm and they are serious about breakfast meats. They offer high quality bacon, at least 3 kinds of sausage and even steak. Fried potatoes are plentiful and served hot, unsullied by onions and peppers.
A Fairmont Classic that you don't want to miss!

Really good food I m from out of town and good service

I've been going here since I was young. after rugby games with FSU and on dates with my wife. this place is home cooked food with a small town atmosphere. if you've lived in Fairmont long enough your bound to see a friendly face there besides the awesome waitstaff. it's always the best bang for your buck. I dont know what I'd do if Mcateers went away.
