You do not wanna trust these guys period. They suck and they don't look you over or review Anything. Rude as Heck....
Mayo Clinic Store...A hospital with 4 handicapped parking spots at its main entrance ?!? and ZERO places for a person to sit in their Clinic Store ... I hate every time I have to come here. Employees are rude , it s always as though you bothered them by walking in(and I had called for an appointment).....only pleasantness in this building is the volunteers
The philosophy is truly to care for people. The people work there wonderful.
They give good services to patients . But just too expensive !
@ Subhasish Bhowmick's review
Mr. Bhowmick: "They take advantage becaus eof teh location as there is no other hospital in a remote place like la-crosee."
For starters, the "they" you speak of is Health Traditions billing service which currently holds a contract for Mayo in the Midwest. If it were another service then similar experiences would likely persist.
Also, if by "there is no other hospital in ... la-crosse" you actually mean "there is another much larger hospital (i.e. 325-bed vs. 152-bed) in la-crosee less than 10 blocks from La Crosse-Mayo" then you'd be correct. But since that's not what it means then you'll have to rethink your comment about "tak[ing] advantage becaus eof teh location as there is no other hospital" clearly an errant statement.
And if by "remote place" you mean "many ways in to and out of (bus, train, car, airplane, boat)" then yes, you would be correct. Is that what you meant?
Lastly, this is America: Land of the Fee, Home of the Slave. Health Insurance + Healthcare is what largely fuels the pricing across the board. Each of them drives the other's prices and has been beyond the point-of-no-return for some time now, sorry to say.
Nearly all of Mayo La Crosse (Franciscan Healthcare) employs local people, many of which are in healthcare for the right reasons. But no matter where you go you will always run into those who clearly don't belong in such a profession. It's those latter types who tend to overshadow those who ARE competent and DO care. Gundersen Lutheran (the other La Crosse hospital) faces the same reality.
Don't broad stroke an entire organization such that you collaterally condemn all of its members as well.
If you can't be honest in part of what you say, who's to believe the rest? Not I.
Wonderful caring provider's, wonderful staff. Great experience every time!
Took a friend of mine in for a possible broken bone because she fell down the stairs. All the nurses were making fun of her for calling her a klutz. Unbelievable.. it was the most unprofessional thing i have ever seen.
Clean, efficient,practices evidence based medicine.
I was consistently given false information about their billing process for over a year now. I was told that my bill would be dropped when in fact they were only slightly lowering it. I felt as though I was just someone to usher onto the next employee so I wasn't their problem anymore. If you get the chance to go anywhere else under your insurance I would take that opportunity.
I m a proud employee of Mayo. From day one of starting, I have seen people treated with care and respect. I definitely trust Mayo with my medical needs and would send my family and friends their way.
I had to have an ultrasound done on my breast for another view after my mammogram. The ultrasound tech and the radiologist were so compassionate and helpful! I was very nervous about the possible outcome and had some tears, and they made me feel so good. Thank you for the exceptional care!!
Don't waste your time, go to Gundersen.
The ER doctors are incompetent. Had very clear signs of a bacterial infection in my UA, even clearer signs in the UA micro results, but the doctor diagnosed me with anxiety and nonspecific abdominal pain instead. I wasn't even informed by phone of the results and they acted as if the infection didn't exist. I would give 0 stars if I could, this is not how you deal with patients.
Update: It's not just the ER doctors, it's all of them. I had to come in 4 times for a UTI they kept telling me didn't exist. I ended up with a kidney infection (Ureaplasma) that lead to a kidney stone that was caught in my bladder for several weeks. I had to go elsewhere to actually get treated. Mayo is lucky I didn't take legal action for this level of complete and utter incompetence. Doctors should know how to read lab results and learn how to order resistance tests to discover what a bacteria responds to, not just hand out random antibiotics or deny an infection exists. Bacteria should not be in a properly done clean-catch UA, PERIOD. Apparently some of the MDs there slept through that part of med school. In the end I was charged $3000 for a month of suffering without proper treatment, and that's with insurance. For a supposedly world-class hospital, they couldn't even properly diagnose and treat a simple UTI. What quacks.
First time there, and definitely my last.
Asked front desk for non-emergency.
Should of told/warned me that Saturdays are emergency's only.
I would have just went to the store for stuff, and came back Monday.
was charged an extra $307 for a 7 minute ER visit...
Told them girlfriends small cat bit, or possibly scratched my leg, and I'm allergic, leg swelled up.
I come for help, I can hardly walk because im in pain, and need suggestions on what I can get at a local store that might help the swelling and what a good anti-bacterial cream would be , and they argue with me saying we should put the cat down, and make a police report.
they give me an expensive prescription for some antibacterial pills...
They didn't even help the situation with the swelling/pain or the infection, and the medicine they prescribed me, gave me the runs.... while at work....
I suffered greatly for like 4 days where it was just completely unbearable to walk, was like 8 PM, I asked a wal-mart pharmacist what he would recommend, told me ibuprofen , and even there Equate brand of anti-bacterial cream.
Next morning all the swelling was gone, and my leg whet from like purple to just red, and then back to normal by the end of the day.
Its better to just go to a local store for simple things, save money & live better. Besides broken bones & major surgeries , i don't even know why hospitals exist.
They lie, and hide things , and charge you for things you don't need, and just want to take your money.
it shouldn't cost you 120$ a minute...
Casino's aren't even that expensive...
I love this hospital they have done so much for both of my kids they are so nice and kund .love all the doctors
Great ETC, great surgeon, terrible discharge process.
I have been going here for over 20 years and have been very impressed...very warm, personal and they get patients in quickly. I have recommended Mayo La Crosse to many.
Great facility, a lot of good things happening here.
Be prepared to be double billed and hassled! Nothing, but issues with this place!
Came in with a severe neck injury, told me to come in a week later for an mri and the ok, went there and told me nothing was ever scheduled
Dr. Winter and his team are absolute angels. Wonderful bedside treatment from him and his staff. Felt very safe under his knife!
The Nursing staff on the 9th floor seemed cold and harsh..I came there to find my Mother heavily sedated with the door wide open laying there naked and exposed. The IV alarms (2 of them) were going off loudly. I asked my Sister to info the nurse at the desk. This nurse responded with "did she push the button for assistance? " So either this nurse doesn't take the time to know who is sedated or doesn't care..either way this was unacceptable....My Mother had a bad infection which was causing her to have hallucinations. ..she was abusive verbal because she was confused and scared This doesn't mean she should be abused in return as she is normally nice to strangers and respectful to others. If you chose to work with people who are ill or injured it is your JOB so realize it. My regret is I didn't get the name of this awful, uncaring health care worker so I could call her out and highlight her as the Hag she is..Bottom line is St Francis Hospital once was a caring place...Mayo added their name and $ and now people do not matter only their Insurance Companies ability to pay..
Great place with great and helpful people. The gift shop person was about the nicest person that I've ever talked to.
225.00 a month isn't enough money for them on the 5000.00 the max out of pocket i have to pay in a year. when my insurance paid them close to 90,000.00 already. They want 560.00 per month. Which i can no way afford but if I don't they will send it to collection. Which will ruin my credit that I've been slowing rebuilding for 5 yrs. Just greed.
This is one of the best hospitals I've dealt with. Everyone seems to be very professional and extremely friendly. They are always ready to go the extra mile to take care of you . No one likes to go to the doctor, but if I have to go, Mayo would be my first choice.
Caring, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile - it's got a "hometown feel". EVERYONE: don't mistake Mayo Clinic Franciscan Healthcare with Health traditions (the contracted billing service) - they are AWEFUL! With Health traditions, everything is ALWAYS your fault, they're ready to send you to collections first chance they get, and customer service is a foreign concept to them. My wife has had them hang up on her more than once. The best one was in the same day surgery waiting room where a handful of people got to hear a Health traditions "customer service representative" (term used very lightly with synacism implied) yell at my wife, accuse her of abusive and foul language, and hang up on her. Everyone nearby was shocked! But that's Health traditions (AWEFUL) , NOT Mayo Clinic Franciscan HEALTHCARE (GREAT).
Billed preventive visit for a 3 year old child as "by request by school". Insurance company declined payment and explained to me that the claim needed to be resubmitted as "preventive visit 1-4". Mayo customer service rep refused to correct the code and resubmit the claim, because it would be a "duplicate" claim. Meanwhile, the insurance company keeps on insisting the claim needs to be resubmitted. Catch 22.
I noticed a review about the 9th floor nursing and wanted to add to that. My mother was just discharged last week and complained of the nurses on the 9th floor being too impersonal, challenging and abrupt. My mother is 92 years old and was again readmitted to ER not long after her discharge. I notified the doctor immediately that if she were readmitted overnight NOT to put her on that floor. I noted my concerns to the Charge RN and Nursing Supervisors. It didn't seem to matter.
I have all my doctors in the same building. How much easier does it get?
Mayo is known nationwide and I have been to this one as well as this one in Scottsdale, AZ. Aside from the occasional issue with billing and my insurance they have been top notch. Even the one issue we had was more to do with my insurance company than the mayo. Facilities are always clean and the place looks brand new even though its not. Have not had one bad experience here or the other one I have been to.
Stay away from them if you can, fraudelent billing.
My wife was admitted for labor in Dec 2014, the bills I receive are astronomical. They take advantage becaus eof teh location as there is no other hospital in a remote place like la-crosee.And talk abaout treatment belwo par I wish I could sue them for medical negligence. The pain killer injection to reduce labor pain after threee attempt also it did not work, instead of numbing lower abdoment it actually umbed upped body wow, my wife had to suffer unbearable pain 30 hours.GROSS MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE.I am not a big person to take on BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY LIKE mayo, nut IF U LOVE UR FAMIILY PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY.MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE OF THIS SORT IS UNEXPECTED.
Total commitment to their patients no matter what you are there for! Excellent service and care!
Clean, modern, professional. I have no complaints about this hospital.
Without question there is a difference between the two hospitals in Lacrosse, and it used to be worse. I won't say there last last names, but two of the most unprofessional nurses used to work there , not sure if they still do(This was shared by their peers). Their name was Wendy and Pat. Pray to god they retired.
I had an emergency visit that lead to a 14 day hospital stay. The medical staff were wonderful. It's a larger hospital but has a small hospital feel.
So disappointed that a family friend with downs syndrome was admitted to your hospital with Covid, it's not looking good for him, and no one from his family is allowed to see him. You have such great nurses, but that is ruined by the fact that your administrators are impossible to get a hold of. I know this is a tough situation for everyone and hospitals are crowded, but... do better.
My mom was brought into the ER with pneumonia. The staff in the ER were fantastic. Robin was her ER nurse and she was kind, professional and attentive. Mom was admitted in the hospital on the 9th floor. The staff on all shifts were fabulous. They answered all my questions and showed lots of TLC to my mom. Dr. Karturi was available whenever to provide me updates and keep me abreast of mom's progress. I feel grateful to have such a fine faculty in our area and rest assured in the knowledge my mom was receiving top notch care. Respectfully submitted by Marilyn Heinz.
High quality surgical and rehabilitation staff, excellent treatment all around.
I like the people here. Every department seems like they have a staff that cares. I had a cath lab procedure a while back and could not have asked for a better team to be taking care of me. Been to the ER here as well and again, they seemed to care and want to help make sure you're taken care of.
