Awesome food and service! Tim was our server and he was great! We had the Tavern burger and it was amazingly delicious!!!! I mean delicious! The meat was juicy! The onions were cooked to perfection! The bibb lettuce was fresh, and the homemade pickles are heaven!!!
We will be back, for sure!
Max Tavern is known for their steaks but my favorite dish is the salmon. Although when I have had their steaks the ribeye is really good.
Always a top shelf experience. Farm local ingredients incorporated into nightly specials. Equal to the very best eating without the stuffiness or big box feeling.
Solid place to go for dinner if you're in the mood for seafood or steak. This said they have other things on the menu like burgers and you can also grab a drink from the bar. A really nice interior mixed with the kind staff makes for a nice premium like experience, but I feel like they're a just tad expensive for what you get. They were also able to accommodate a nut allergy which is a solid plus. Overall a solid place to go plus the basketball hall of fame is right next to it.
Was only at the bar for less than hour, and had a beer. Michael was my server. Great service, and he recommended a top-notch IPA. Definately going back some time to try out the menu.
Don't forget to get the wild mushrooms with your steak!
Been here quite a few times for business meetings. It's easy to get to this location.The decor and comfortable booths provide a sense of privacy for discussions. The menu selections plentiful with daily specials, and the food is quite tasty. Today I had the salmon, artichoke and farro entree which was delicious. The service is also good.
Covid has been a terrible blow to the restaurant business. Massachusetts has been cautious and disciplined in only allowing openings in a data driven and scientific way. Max's chose not to be involved in the takeout trade and was very conservative in its reopening schedule. I give them credit for putting the health and safety of their staff and customers first above a revenue stream. They now are offering both patio and inside dining and it has been worth the wait.

Some of the best food and the greatest service we have ever had. Totally worth every bit of the money spent. Calm environment, very friendly service, as well as attentive. Nothing to like for, enjoyed our visit. Would recommend this place every day.
Menu is way too over priced for the food quality. Maybe they need new chefs because the menu always sounds very appetizing but once I receive my food, I m disappointed. Not my first time being disappointed. First time was a charm but after my 5th try eating lunch here I m positive I won t be coming back.

This located right in the Basketball Hall of Fame and the food is delicious. I ordered from their list of oysters that displayed where they were harvested. It was reasonably priced and I also ordered their Marseille style mussles. It was not expensive and the food was fantastic. The environment looks like a traditional bar/restaurant and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place and I will be back.

Seated promptly, excellent wait staff, well cooked dinners that came out quickly. The salads were excellent and main courses followed. We had a great experiencece. This is not our first visit. We chose Max's whenever we are in the area. This time for the big E. Nicely done.
Korean ribs were very good..and late night happy hour made them an extreme value. The house cab was pretty decent as well. When I'm back in town ill come back to chat with the friendly staff for some smiles.

Nice selection of oysters, mussels, and clams to start. Salads were plentiful. Thick, rich charring encrusted the ribeye. Medium rare came out a bit beyond, but was full of flavorful juices. A duet in the bar provided smooth jazz for the whole restaurant on Thursday.
Shrimp cocktails to start. Perfect temperature. Great sauce. Large shrimp. Filet Mignon was very tasty. Swordfish ordered simply grilled as opposed to the other version on the menu that would have been served with what I felt would have just masked the true taste of one of my favorite cuts of gems from the sea.
Best happy hour in the city. Food and service is awesome. Beer a bit pricey. But atmosphere and people make up for it.
Had an exceptional dinner at the bar (first come, first serve). Crab cake had giant pieces of crab in it, and the French onion soup was some of the best I've ever had. Delicious cocktails. Superior service from attentive bar tenders.

Omg all I have to say is GET THE BUFFALO SHRIMP. They are to die for. I absolutely love this place to meet up with friends and catch up. In warmer weather they have a cute patio outside so you have the choice of being out doors. Service is always timely and courteous. Prices a little on the higher side for me but food and drinks are always worth what you pay for.
I came here for happy hour on Sunday night and was not disappointed! It has plenty of parking and quick to get to off the highway. There was a happy hour menu and drink specials available in the bar area where the wait staff was extremely attentive. The beef tenderloin for $8 was an amazing deal and delicious. The options for happy hour are pretty extensive and all very good. I recommend stopping in!
Went in for a quick bite. Nice server. Good food but overly priced for the portions. It is the basketball hall of fame adjacent restaurant and near casino. Not bad but not memorable.
They offer a vast range of fresh food. I love eating here. The employees are always super friendly, pricing is affordable and the place is always kept clean.

We had a horrible dinner here on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Our server Joshua wasn't up to the usual Max's standards. Never read us the specials. Asked my brother if he wanted another drink, then never brought it. Finally his assistant asked if he'd like another drink and she brought it immediately. Dinner was not as good as usual either. I had a Filet that was sub par. We come here a lot, but I think I will look for another restaurant. Very disappointed.

One of the best steaks I've ever had, I ordered the petite filet mignon with crab cake and brussel sprouts. After a long week traveling this really hit the spot. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have a large selection. I also ordered the tuna tacos, they are an interesting take on sushi meets taco with a wonton wrapper shell. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
We came for our anniversary tonight. Jess C, our waitress, was knowledgeable, personable and professional. the manager made rounds to check in and help clean tables. Our food... perfect, flavorful and well just amazeballs. To top it off they new it was our anniversary and when we ordered dessert it was served on a plate with happy anniversary written in yummy sauce with a card hand signed. highly recommend

Really enjoyed a dish that I rarely find on other menus. My daughter said her fish and chips was the best she'd ever had.

Ordered the house burger with truffle fries and it was quite fulfilling and delicious, wished had more appetite that day because I only ate half of it. Otherwise it was satisfying. The service was okay, our server Chris was personable but somewhat out of it, he almost poured my wine on my glass of water.

Went to Max's Tavern after a conference at the MGM Grand. It was quiet and welcoming. Our server was great! Pleasant and knowledgeable. Very personable and happy to recommend items from the menu. The food was just okay. Not bad, just not noteable. Portions sizes are on the smaller side. I enjoyed a glass of Malbec with my meal. They seem to have a decent selection of wine and cocktails. I would go again if I was in the area but I would not go out of my way to dine here.

2 hours for entrees with 3 kids and in laws from out of town. Total drag. Dry meat when it finally arrived.

Sunday afternoon, restaurant more than half empty. Food took forever and was OK at best. Waitress was nice and tried to make the best of it but as a local we will go elsewhere. Not worth the money.
WHAT HAPPENED!? I came here this past Saturday 6/22 and I have to say both the food and the service was garbage. I ordered the tuna tacos at the bar because I have previously gotten them and they were amazing. I did not see anything new about the taco on the menu but when I received my dish, it was sloppily put together and I noted no soy sauce or wasabi. The bartender's response was "yeah, they don't have the wasabi or soy." I clarified if this was new or if the restaurant ran out, the bartender shrugged. The was tacos were dry and quite honestly, not great (especially for the price). The bartender was a bit rude and not very efficient. I asked for a managers business card on the way out from a waitress and she just shrugged. I have been to Max Tavern before and have had amazing experiences, but this experience was just terrible.
Our dinners were fantastic! Great service and a wonderful experience. Best chicken I have ever tasted!!!!
