This a well run and up to date library. It's major fault is its location. Children shouldn't have to use stairs to get to their section nor get off buses on the main street. Older folks should have access for wheel chairs. One parking space on the second floor with a bell to ring for entrance is ludicrous.

Poor hours but at least its open. I don't understand why libraries close on Sundays. That's the one day ppl can chill. Sunday papers are most $ so its best day to sit and read at library. Add an inside library cafe and you've got a day!

The library is a great resource for the community. I really like the historical documents and gemological records they maintain that are unique to Harrisonburg and our region. The staff is very friendly and customer service oriented making everyone feel welcome and the building is clean.

With very limited places for orgs to host meetings and events in Harrisonburg, It's disappointing the library does not allow the public to use their meeting spaces. Friendly city needs a friendly library.

I tried to get a library card today. I entered the library 7 minutes before closing and stood in line. I was about half way back in the line and got to the desk ten minutes later. I was informed that I was unable to apply for a card because the library was closed (even though they still served the people in line behind me) and that I should come back Monday noon to 6. When I informed the clerk I m unable to come during the week or earlier Saturday because of work, instead of apologizing for the hours the clerk challenged why I would even need a library card if I wouldn t be able to normally come to the library. I reminded the clerk of their online features of having a library card. I was really dissatisfied with the experience and that in the 21st century you still can t apply online for a library card.
