PERHAPS THIS IS WHY THEY ARE CLOSING END OF FEBRUARY...?
My husband and I went in to inquire about making an appointment. They advertise a 60 minute massage in writing and we also asked if the massage was a full 60 minutes to which they stated yes. I requested a name of someone who gives a very strong, deep tissue massage and was given one. When I called a day later I made an appointment asking again if this was for the 60 minute massage with someone experienced with deep tissue. Yes, again. After waiting 20 minutes for my appointment I was told by the massage therapist it was only a 50 minute massage and the other 10 minutes was for her to set up the room and for me to get dressed! I was none too pleased but as my back needed attention we proceeded. An additional 5 minutes with a warm towel and light touching brought the time down to 45 minutes. She stated she was just warming up. About 5 more minutes in and I stated I had requested a deep, tissue massage and it did not appear that she was able to provide said massage. Incidentally, the gal at the front desk stated that if for whatever reason I am not comfortable with anything to get up and leave and I would not be charged. So, I told the gal I was not comfortable not only getting less than what I was told twice time wise but that her extremely light touch was going to have no therapeutic effect for me. Upon returning to the front desk I was curtly told to have a nice day and they were closing the end of the month anyway. I have since spoken to two others who gave me a great referral to another establishment in town run by the Fairmont.
