This school has ruined my life. They went back on their word about a scholarship they were going to provide me for around 10,000$ a semester. Signed papers over the summer agreeing to play lacrosse for them contingent on this scholarship which they agreed to. Spring semester rolls around and they say they can't enroll me for classes until I pay them 12,000$ cash because the scholarship they had given me no longer existed as of 6 months prior?! My parents were all the way in GA and ended up having to take money out of their 401k for me to finish spring semester. In the mean time finance was supposed to "work something out with us" and they never did. They told me I owed another 12,000$ cash before I could sign up for fall semester the following year so I left. We refuse to pay them this money because they LIED about this scholarship they were going to give me. We even handed the paper to them to show them in writing and they said it no longer exists and they wouldn't honor it even after we signed it. Now I'm trying to go back to college and I can't because they need my transcripts from this school and I can't get them because my account is on hold because of this 12,000$. You're never getting our money. These people are a bunch of lying, selfish jerks and you've ruined my life. I will never be able to finish my degree because of the debt I shouldn't even owe you that you promised us in the first place through this scholarship that you fabricated to get me to agree to go to your school. That's deceitful... And you pride yourselves on being a Godly institution.

Marywood University was a wonderful experience for me. I studied there for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and today, I am proud to be a member of the adjunct faculty. Marywood offers a beautiful campus that's very quiet and has a small school feel, which I loved. Some facilities could use some updating and like every college, there are areas for improvement (e.g. academic advisement, availability of resources, etc.), but the helpfulness of the staff and faculty makes up for it. But what I loved most about Marywood was the commitment to service held by everyone in the community - if you want a place to learn and explore service, this is a great place for you.

The only positive thing I can say about it is that theres small class sizes, and I had a very helpful, proactive advisor. Other than that, I'm counting down my days until I can get out of here. There are so many flaws in their system here its ridiculous, especially for what I'm paying.

Cancel school at 11 AM when everyone who commutes an hour to get there early is left to sit in an empty building for 2 hours because it's delayed. Then no food is open, then they cancel and have to drive back home. How convenient and intelligent let alone dangerous for the students.

Objections ? A ridiculously overpriced "meal plan" which priced out the same no matter how many meals you were coerced into selecting.
HOW can a meal plan be that expensive and SO substandard ?
WHY do they not follow a meal plan like at New Jersey Institute of Technology where there is NO use of PEANUTS/TREE-NUTS in the food ?? The Marywood cafeteria is NOT peanut/tree-nut allergy safe at all - and they just don't seem to understand it.
I think the NJIT food services standard should be a mandatory national model. While I appreciate ALL food sensitivities and allergies . . . you cannot have such an expensive meal plan and NOT abide by any allergy protocols. The food should be safe for ALL to eat without having to stage an inquisition while on-line waiting for their food.
Also ?? Hamburgers should NOT be like hockey pucks and bread should be fresh, not stale.

Also - faculty/staff should NOT be hired as a "favor" to the family. Case in point a begrudged science "teacher" who was apparently killing time as a teacher while he was earning money for grad school. NOT only was that twisted, there was some nepotism connection to campus which shouldn't be happening either. Nevermind the underhanded allegations of harassment let alone tampering with students' grades.

Its a VERY expensive proposition to be a student at Marywood. There shouldn't be ANY problems with staffing NOR food . . . nor anything else for that matter.

Thank you for your time.

I am an alumna and employee at Marywood for 25+ years. I chose Marywood and stayed there because I believe in who we are and what we do. I am proud of my Marywood education, and I always tell students who are thinking about attending that they will find their purpose and passion here. Who you want to become starts when you step on campus!

My daughter goes here. She enjoys it as it is not a large university. The student population is friendly (not stuck up) very ethnic diverse and not considered a party university. If you are looking for a party college this is not the university for you. It is very pricey but no different than other private universities. One complaint my daughter has is the food. Not appetizing and selection is boring. Occasionally a good meal. However I haven't heard one college student not complain about college food. Food plan is only a requirement the first year of dorming.

Who cares about the food- you will get an education that does not live up to the tuition (or lifelong debt!). This is true for both undergrad and graduate, including and especially the PsyD program. The school has been ranked for having the UNhappiest students multiple times, for good reason. They are running out of money, and despite it, chose to build new buildings, fire professors, shut down programs, raise tuition, and increase acceptance rate (but not the diversity really). You tell me where the priorities are. If you want an education, or to not have regrets for student loans or emptying your pockets, don t go here.

Tuition is a little expensive considering some of the little things about the school that seem like they should have had more money spent on them. Great looking campus though. The fact that it's on a hill is a bit of a drag, but it encourages fitness through necessary daily commuting to everyday activities. The things that they make you spend money on, however, seem unnecessary. There are definitely some things that make them money hungry.

I am a music student at Marywood and I couldn't be happier with all my professors and students. The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable, while still being realistic. The amount of student activities on campus is amazing. There is something going on every few days. While some buildings and online aspects need an upgrade, the school is overall great. I love Marywood and am so glad I came here. Lead on!
