A doctor who has never seen my husband keeps denying his procedures. My husband's doctor is dumbfounded at the insurance company. Choose any other company, you will be better off. Looking for alternative insurance companies. NEVER USE MARYLAND PHYSICIANS CARE...they want people addicted to opioids instead of helping thier clientele.
UPDATE: Amazingly this review got the attention of the insurance company. My husband is in the process of getting the help he needs

I switched to MCP in June and Im regretting it I have yet to see my doctor and when I tried to change appointment dates the woman told me there was an opening and when I called back to confirm another woman said there wasnt an opening for that date. Unwanted calls. I called and asked the Customer Service representative why am I getting calls. After I verified that the name of the person that they were calling did not reside at this address. I was told, oh I will make a notation and anywhere from 30 - 90 days your number may be removed or you can call Medicaid because we cannot do anything even though we initiate the call based on the input from Medicaid. Unacceptable.

This is the worst company EVER! DO NOT get involved with these people in any way, if you don't have to! They do ridiculous things, act outrageous ,and ate not very intelligent! I've heard nothing but the same from everyone else who has dealt with them! I only wish they had a rating that went BELOW a 1 !

I have had this insurance for about 9 yrs and wouldn't go to any other insurance. They help you in many ways. I really liked the MPC but in the last yr I have been having trouble. First I put in to get the Libre meter but got denied. Saying I need to have my Dr write a letter stating I use insulin and I take insulin more than 3 times a day. And test my sugar 4 or more times a day. Well he did and still got denied. Ok well in March I got my A1C level check and contact them so I can get my gift card. So in June I put in for my gift card. I was told it would be put in and I will receive it in 90 days.so in August I called to make sure I was still receiving my gift card and was told yes. So in September I called to check on it. And was told I am not getting it because the policy change. Now you have to go to a clinic they send you to and they give it to you. But I was like I put mine in before it was changed, so why can't I get it well I can't get because it changed then they did this and that. And still nothing. I never had a problem with them. But now it hurts the way they are treating me after being with them 8_9 yrs

Worst insurance ever. My newborn was added to this insurance by mistake and I decided to give it a try but unfortunately the service there is horrible. Its so hard to have them cover for anything. No one takes them and I had to fight to get my sons member id number since they never sent me the card(I waited 1 month). After 6 calls and have people telling me to wait for the card over the mail because they couldn't give me the number I gave up and decided to switch. Rude people over the phone.

THE DOCTORS I'VE BEEN UNFORTUNATELY SEEN BY, BARELY
KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH. THE
DOCTORS SEE YOU FOR ABOUT A TOTAL OF 1-2 MINUTES, AND THATS IT.
EVERY YEAR MPC PROMISES A GIFT
CARD WHEN YOU GET YOUR YEARLY
PHYSICAL, AND IT TAKES ABOUT A
YEAR TO GET THE GIFT CARD.
ON A SCALE OF 1-10, I WOULD RATE
MPC AT A 3.

I've had them for 2 years and they are by far one of the worst providers. I understand COVID19 is hurting things but when you call daily for 2 weeks to be met with a voicemail message stating theyre in a meeting each time, how is an entire company in a meeting for 2 weeks straight?! Seems like whenever I need a medication, specifically birth control I have to jump through 100 hoops to get it because apparently the insurance company knows best before your doctor. The service is horrible.

I have been using MPC for a few years. I liked their mother and baby program. Dealing with the reps in that department is fine. However, many of the general customer service reps, havent been so nice. Customer service skills are poor. I will be switching my family from them. It's sad the bad apples ruin it for everyone.

Very good insurance. I've had them for years and it's been great. I do have to admit that they aren't good at helping you find doctors but if you look on your own, there are plenty. I would recommend this to anyone who needs insurance.

I wish I could give no stars. This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked with. I hate this stupid insurance, everytime I go to the doctor it's the same foolishness...I've never had to talk to more than 10 people to help with one problem until working with them. One person will say it's fixed and then I'll go to the doctor and it's not. It takes all day to actually speak to someone and the damn recording is so damn inconvenient! Ugh I just hate them

Worst insurance. It's been weeks and I can't get a primary care physician. I had to pay almost $200 at an emergency clinic just to get my diabetes medication before it became an emergency. They were chosen for me by mistake, I definitely don't recommend them. All the phone numbers on their website are out of date, no one takes them. Now I called to desperately get them to help me find a primary care physician and the company is unavailable for a meeting?! What is this??? They assigned me a primary care physician in ROCKVILLE and i live in BALTIMORE. Awful.

Some of the doctors under this MPC program try to save money hire the worst incompetent staff the files are lost or they can''t find them. When you need a file or an answer for a medical condition that the doctor had cared for you they can't find the information, an office manager should be able to retrieve medical information in a instant, how incompetent! I have to change doctors, I mean some doctors don't even speak English. There are not many provider choices MPC members can choose from either. After I called a staff at MPC they said they didn't care if the doctor's office can't find files for MPC members. That is good to know how important MPC health information is important to MPC.

Maryland Physicians care is actually a good insura...

Maryland Physicians care is actually a good insurance organization. I have had no issues and I have been with them for a few years now, and I receive all of my treatment right on the Eastern Shore.

I find most of the negative reviews absolutely ridiculous as those who write them seem to get confused about "Who" they're leaving reviews for.

Maryland Physicians Care and the doctors offices are separate entities... The doctor sees you - They pay the doctor for seeing you. If your doctor sucks, leave a bad review for them and not the insurance company... Better yet, Call MPC and complain since they're networked. They'll help you switch doctors too, so haters, you can stop complaining.

There is a massive list of doctors, dentists, etc that "YOU" can chose from. If you don't pick one, then they'll pick one closest to you, for you. If you don't like their options... Balls up and call them and request for another.

MPC offers but is not limited to:
Office visits - No Co-pay for over the counter-prescriptions.
RX Drug Benefits
Adult Dental
Vision Care for Adults and Children
Screenings and X-Rays
Lab Tests
Medical Care Coordination
Urgent and Emergency Care
Immunizations
And more..

What more could you ask for from a Free or Low Cost healthcare provider??

Hope this helps those who don't understand the bad reviews. As far as I can see, the reviews are in the wrong place for the wrong people.

Good luck

The company extends the full benefits of Maryland Medicaid to its patients, ensuring that they receive the best possible care without any financial burden.

MPC has been serving the community for many years and has established itself as a trusted provider of healthcare services. The company's mission is to improve the health and well-being of its patients by providing them with access to comprehensive medical care.

One of the key features that sets MPC apart from other healthcare providers is its commitment to quality. The company employs highly trained physicians, nurses, and support staff who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient. MPC also uses state-of-the-art technology and equipment in all of its facilities, ensuring that patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

In addition to providing primary care services such as check-ups, vaccinations, and screenings, MPC also offers specialized medical services such as cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology/hematology among others. MPC understands that navigating the complex world of healthcare can be challenging for many people. That's why it offers a range of resources designed to help patients make informed decisions about their health. Another important aspect of MPC's approach is its focus on preventive medicine.
