As a volunteer, I have observed a very well run and organized facility. I have a little more restored outlook on public services. The overall operation appears to be very busy, with multiple vehicles of all types picking up and delivering much needed resources.

A great place to work! Very community-minded with a drive to end hunger on the Eastern Shore. Call to become a contributor of food, a distributor of food, or a volunteer. A wonderful place to get those Service Learning Hours as well.

About Maryland Food Bank

Maryland Food Bank: Fighting Hunger and Building Self-Sufficiency

The Maryland Food Bank is a non-profit organization that has been serving the state of Maryland since 1979. Their mission is to diminish the immediate effects of hunger through access to nutritious food, while helping Marylanders build long-term paths to self-sufficiency. The organization operates with a vision of creating a hunger-free Maryland where all residents have access to healthy food.

The Maryland Food Bank works tirelessly towards their goal by partnering with over 1,200 community organizations across the state. These organizations include soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and schools that serve low-income families. The organization also runs several programs aimed at providing assistance to those in need.

One such program is the School Pantry Program which provides children from low-income families with nutritious food for weekends and holidays when school meals are not available. This program ensures that children do not go hungry during these times and can focus on their studies without worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Another program run by the Maryland Food Bank is the Mobile Pantry Program which brings fresh produce and other perishable items directly into communities that lack access to healthy foods. This program helps bridge the gap between those who have easy access to healthy foods and those who do not.

In addition to these programs, the Maryland Food Bank also runs a culinary training program called "FoodWorks" which provides job training for individuals looking for employment in the culinary industry. The program offers hands-on experience in cooking techniques as well as job readiness skills such as resume building and interview preparation.

The organization's efforts have not gone unnoticed as they have received numerous awards over the years including recognition from Feeding America for being one of its top-performing members in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.

To support its operations, The Maryland Food Bank relies heavily on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, government agencies among others. Every dollar donated goes towards providing meals for those in need across all counties within Maryland State.

In conclusion, The Maryland Food Bank plays an essential role in fighting hunger within communities across all counties within Marylands State while also empowering individuals through various programs aimed at building self-sufficiency skills necessary for long-term success. By supporting this non-profit organization through donations or volunteering time or resources you can help make a difference towards creating a hunger-free future for all residents of Marylands State!
