This was a great getaway from DC. We found a beach area on the river and made sand castles. We also learned a bit about the indigenous people of the area and explored the recreations of their homes. It was a beautiful day.
This park is amazing. Lots of trails and plenty of room for kids to run. They recently added a small nature playground and it is my new favorite place to take my kids to play
An unexpected delight. Interesting park to visit. Good parking. Absolutely fantastic little gift shop full of interesting locally produced art, pottery, gifts, and curios. Great education and interaction section for the children. Very friendly and helpful workers. Highly recommended for a visit if you're in the area.
Great space for hiking, wildlife watching and picnicking. The park also has a great hidden beach along the Patuxent.
Jefferson Patterson Park is a wonderful destination anytime. It's great for riding bikes with your younger kids or taking a walk. It's a great place for taking pictures and just for hanging out. There is history here, archaeological digs and a museum. My favorite time is around sunset.
Large Historical Park with water access, good parking and port-o-potties. Working farm with corn fields. Good for bicycles
Will go back after Covid. Museum & Visitor Center were closed. Great walking trails and it is beautiful along the Patuxent River.

My daughter's fiance cancelled their wedding and they would not give her ANY of her money back. The wedding was eleven months away. They could have rented it easily but they are taking advantage of people. Buyer beware!! $2,800s is a lot to loose. I would suggest another vendor with some compassion!!
