As a long-time patron of the Marshfield Public Library I can only say that the friendly and attentive service is second to none. I once lived in the capital of another state and the library there could learn a thing or a hundred from the folks here in Marshfield.

The constant influx of new books is a gift every time you walk in the door. The reference staff is knowledgeable and always eager to help.

My local civic club holds our monthly meeting in one of the meeting rooms the library offers. The on-line room reservation system is easy to use and the place is always ready for us.

A previous poster stated the staff is rude. I have never had this experience in the 6+ years I have been a patron here.

See for yourself how a really good public library works. Visit soon and often :-)

The location, and environment is beautiful! That being said I have to give this place 2 stars, because the service I received from a particular staff member was unacceptable. I was told I could't make my own library card card, because I did not look old enough to be eighteen, and needed a parent with me. I am twenty-one years of age, and of course this issue was resolved after presenting my drivers license, but the sheer elitism, and tone I continued to receive from her after this event wasn't very pleasant. I don't think I'll be returning.

Excelent selections for movies, graphic novels and books. The addition of the twice sold tales used book shop is icing on the cake. On top of all of that the staff are always helpful and fun to talk with.
