Founded in 1947, Marsh Regional Blood Center has been serving the people of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia for over 70 years. We are proud to be one of only two blood centers in Tennessee that is accredited by both AABB (formerly known as American Association of Blood Banks) and CAP (College of American Pathologists). This means that we meet or exceed rigorous standards for quality control, safety, and testing.

We work with over 20 hospitals and medical facilities throughout our service area, including Holston Valley Medical Center, Johnson City Medical Center, Bristol Regional Medical Center, Indian Path Community Hospital, Lonesome Pine Hospital, Mountain View Regional Medical Center and many more.

In addition to providing life-saving blood products to our community partners on a daily basis – including red cells for trauma patients; platelets for cancer patients; plasma for burn victims; cryoprecipitate for hemophiliacs – we also offer specialized services such as therapeutic phlebotomy (for patients with iron overload disorders), HLA typing (for bone marrow transplant recipients), cord blood banking (for expectant mothers), autologous donations (for elective surgeries) among others.
