Como Zoo, Conservatory, Park - lots of things to do. In the summer, walking/biking, picnic area, the zoo, kids rides, etc.
In the winter (just went today, temps in low 30s) the conservatory buildings were like getting a summer or tropical day in winter. The tropic animals - lions, tigers giraffes, etc were in buildings; and polar bears, wolves, arctic foxes, etc were out in the open.
Not to mention fish, penguins, etc.

Be sure to get tickets in advance, as you won't be able to purchase them at the door and capacity is limited. Limited capacity is a good thing right now though, and other details are also well thought out, such as one way pathways. I think it goes without saying at this point to wear your mask.

Tickets are free or by optional donation and include access to Como Zoo, though you can do one or both. If you opt for the free tickets, you can still donate in person once you get there, and funds are much needed, so give extra if you're able.

The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory remains one of the best places to go when you absolutely can't take another minute of Minnesota winter.

This is one of my favorite places in all of St. Paul. No matter how many times I visit, there is always something to inspire. Even with a restricted path for Covid-19, it was rejuvenating to see the plants and grounds so we'll maintained. All the green things growing is always a balm. I do miss being able to sit on a bench and meditate, but we'll get back to that someday if everyone quits their griping and just wears a mask.

Wonderful place to visit, they do try to keep it running with restrictions by using chalks of people going through. Be sure to sign up online before going. Great place to bring kids that have been couped up for a while

Super cool. Definitely humid, that should be obvious, but this is a great place to go. One room contains tropical vegitation and animals including a huge snake, fish, and a sloth. Another is full of flowers and the last has every spice you can think of.

If you have physical restrictions, stay away. With all the Covid restrictions, so much walking, I hope a better plan will be in place in the future. The flower gardens are so beautiful.

Right around the beginning of February, you need this place. Green smells and humidity. Quiet drips of water. Peace and living things. It's lovely the rest of the year, but when winter has gotten you down and it hurts to be outside? I find this a wonderful restorative.

My favorite place In St Paul, a delightful treasure.
Landscaping in Sunken Garden is wonderful with sunny yellow colors of tulips and hyacinths with the best spring fragrance!
Entrance could be better marked.

An often overlooked gem in the Twin Cities! I always enjoyed field trips to the conservatory when I was in elementary school and still find it a nice, soothing place to go when you want some down time. It's nice to have a touch of the tropics during a cold winter!

This is the greatest place in all of Minnesota! It is free to get in (although donations are greatly appreciated) and it is like taking a mini vacation to the tropics. The over 100 year old building is wonderfully taken care of and it is truly a great place to see exotic plants.

Beautiful as always. It's great to visit on a cold cloudy day. Reminder: it gets quite hot and humid in there. If you are wearing extra clothes to stay warm outside you will definitely start to sweat while walking around

The best place to go on a dreary day!!

The best place to go on a dreary day!!

Take your time...take lots of pics...walk slow.

This is the most Instagramable place in the Twin Cities.

The conservatory is a beautiful place to visit for a date, for a random wandering, or just for a quick getaway from the craziness of modern life. The flora are well maintained, the facility is in great condition, and the staff is friendly. Can't beat it for no required cost (suggested donation only - give if you can to help keep the place alive).

We arrived on time for our reservation, and we were let in almost immediately. A staff member briefly explained check in, the one way path, and how long til the closest restroom. Check in was a simple barcode scan that involved almost zero wait for the 3 families ahead of us. The one way path was simple and in some ways, preferable. We moved a little faster than some of the families ahead of us, and it took us about an hour and 20 minutes to go through the zoo, the rainforest, and the conservatory. We skipped the Japanese garden. We saw all of our favorite animals that are out this time of year in April, and around 11:20, we saw them feed the sea lions which involved tricks. We only saw one baby animal, which is always a favorite no matter what kind, it is the lamb.

Beautiful park and conservatory! Bring your camera to get a shot of the famous sloth living in the tropical zone! Be sure to dress in layers, it gets pretty steamy inside after you enjoy an outdoor walk thru the zoo. Thank you Como for creating this fantastic gem!
