Personally went on the whale watching. We had a drone, the staff were more than accommodating regarding that. It was an exceptional experience, the slippers are very experienced, and we also went on a little tour of the bay - including Geyser Island and the other one. They also care, for instance they have been raising funds for the penguins in the area. Dickie Chivell was our skipper, and he was on Shark week, which is a testimony to just how experienced these guys are. 100% would do it again.

All an experience with sharks! It is true that to go from Cape Town, for example, is far ... And if you touch a day with swell careful with dizziness! When I was there they offered us a hot chocolate when we got out of the water, which is not very recommendable: do not take it!
In spite of everything, it is worth the trouble to get into the cage (which is about 2.5 meters deep, with some bars to submerge or climb to breathe) and that sharks pass in front of you !!

Great Experience, we saw 7 Great Whites , of varying sizes, we were a little nervous as the sightings have been erratic. Staff were friendly , very knowledgeable, and great hosts. Defnitely worth it.

Please do this. I am 51 and did not want to come out of my comfort zone..!!Tammy from Marine Dynamics was fantastic and made everyone feel at ease. They are very professional and when you get in the cage you can keep coming up and down -no oxyven tank needed. We were fortunate enough tk be up close and personal with Copper Sharks and a great white. So glad I did it.

One lifelong dream ticked!!! The crew were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made the whole experience a joy from start to finish. They provided everything from wet suits, lifejackets (only worn to where we anchored) to cups of tea and snacks. They were incredibly lovely to those who were sea sick too which made everyone feel at ease. Having a marine biologist onboard was brilliant as if you weren't in the cage she was telling you facts about the sharks and what to look out for. Highly recommend them!!

The experience it self was good and the shark diving was fun. You most likely won't see Great Whites. They know that, but will let you believe you're likely to. The boat crew is professional and amazing, a fun group of people that are there to make sure you're having fun. The customer service on the other hand isn't the best. Paid for a video that was to be provided by the company. I've reached out to them multiple times and each time they've responded without resolving the issue by simply sending the video link. Something to be mindful of - skip spending the money on the video, since theres a chance you may not even get it.

Mega tour; It starts with an extensive briefing in the in-house restaurant including breakfast.

The guides are finally trained and have everyone in view (my girlfriend was seasick and 3 guides looked after her and looked after her again and again - TOP).

After each cage dive (tip: bring your own snorkel!) There are hot drinks and fresh ones immediately! Blankets / towels.

A video could also be bought afterwards (which is not necessary because you can take photos yourself).

We did not see a great white shark - which was openly and honestly emphasized before the booking and briefing (they are wild animals and not trained dogs)

Conclusion: do it there and not with the others - who have no certificates

We were in Gaansbaai in mid-December.

We were in Gaansbaai in mid-December.
Seeing the big white was high on our bucket list.
Before arrival, we sent several inquiries to other Shark Cage Dive operators, we were told via email Klip and Klar that the probability of meeting Great White Sharks in the season is extremely minimal.
Unfortunately the accommodation was no longer cancellable so we ended up near Gaansbaai.
On site we explained the situation to our host and he kindly phoned again.
However, Marine Dynamics gave us hope by telephone, saying that several sightings had been made in the past few days.
Happy as ever, we booked the trip for 4 people.
When we booked the breakfast (acceptable) on site, we were brought back to reality (no whites for the past 3 weeks). Request for discounts has been dismissed.
The tour started, we were brought to a spot about 10 minutes from the jetty, where tens of other boats were already attracting sharks.
One after the other we were allowed in the cage without an oxygen hose for about 15-20 minutes (packed with 8 people) and that's it.
After everyone was through, it went back, no other spot, no great white shark (a few smaller ones and a ray)
All in one as already mentioned by other reviews ,, Customs clearance ,, ...
Which I would be happy with ... If it weren't for the price of 150 per person and dishonesty.
For this performance it is completely and mercilessly overpriced and therefore only max 2 stars, sorry

PS: Videos were made by the boat staff as a bonus (wrong thought).
Another 15 per person if desired

Though there was no white shark, it was worth taking the tour. As they have mentioned before booking the tour, only copper sharks were there. Except the shark part, everything else was very good. Professional service from all starting from the pick up driver. The driver was very accommodative. Breakfast, snacks, hotel pick up and drop was included in the package. The time spent in the boat after the cage diving was very relaxing. The amazing view definitely makes the trip worthy.

From the idea to protect the underwater world and sharks in the region, absolutely recommendable (therefore 2 stars). However, in our case, it was pure mass processing. We were about 30 people - in the cage fit about 8 people. That that the trip becomes unnecessarily long due to the high waiting time until you can get into the cage. The supposed marine biologists have not really reported much, which was a pity. Here we had hoped for much more. From an animal point of view, it is m.E. borderline, to attract the sharks over 2 hours with dead fish and then z.T. to swim against the steel cage. Also, the wow effect was gone for an unforgettable experience, which could certainly be due to the mass tourism environment. Still, I think that everyone should decide to sacrifice almost a day or not. Personally, I would not do it anymore.

Very helpful and friendly staff, on the boat as well as in their headquarter, who provide a lot of interesting facts and information.

You should start your trip with the right expectations. It's not like you will be surrounded by sharks right away. You need some patience until maybe one shark appears and it's not like he'll stick around in plain sight at all times. They pretty much come and go as they wish.

Groups of 8-10 people will take turns in the cage. And the guides will let the groups stay in the water as long as it takes to see at least one shark up close. Here again, you have to be lucky with the shark activity during your stay in the water.

In my case, the actual experience in the cage was not all that. The vision under water was very poor due to weather conditions and its quite cold even with a wetsuit. I actually got way better looks at the sharks from the boat.

Oh .. and don't underestimate seasickness. I'm a guy who's usually not that sensitive, but even i felt a bit sick after a while. You'll be on a constant back and forth rocking boat for around three hours, so prepare yourself just in case.

My only complaint: the soup you get after you come back from the trip was really not that good :P

Overall a great experience i can only recommend!

my hopes of seeing great white sharks were saddened due to port and starboard (2 orcars) but we still made a booking on the off chance. So so lucky on the day and so glad we continued with the trip as today we not only seen one but a total of four. Feeling so lucky at seeing these magnificent beasts up close. Well looked after by the crew

This company is excellent. The staff and volunteers were informed, pleasant and very caring. This company seems quite ethical, and dedicated to the conversation of wildlife.

I ended up being seasick, and unable to shake the cold. Everyone came regurally to check in and bring me sick bags, towels and ginger ale to comfort my stomach. Overall, very happy I went (and saw 4 sharks!) and felt safe the entire time.

Tips:
- Take morning sickness tablets the night before and 30 minutes prior to your arrival. I live on a lake and go boating regularly, but the water here is quite rough and choppy and made me quite ill the entire time.
- Bring a complete change of clothes and a blanket. The water is around 15 C (58-62 F) and you will want to warm up afterwards.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip even though the swells were high and visibility low. There were no other operators in the area at the time. The summer grounds is in a place just off shore called "the shallows" so we didn't go to Dyer Island which is the winter ground. On our trip we saw six copper head sharks as well as a cape fur seal. The Great White shark sightings have been in decline due to the Orca attacks of recent however one graced us with its presence right at the end after we had lifted the anchor. The team hung around and let us take photos from deck. We also opted for the transport back to Cape Town and found the driver to be friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

Take the vision to do something big, coupled with the passion for South Africa - what comes out then you can see and experience here. Species protection, education and training programs for young people in the field of marine biology and ecotourism. Schools in the area are supported and promoted, beaches cleaned.
We were fortunate enough to spend a few days here. In our bungalow we slept wonderfully and ate deliciously delicious in the Great White House. The whole team is extremely friendly and accommodating.
If you have some distance to the hectic everyday life and want to experience pure nature, you are in good hands here.
We wish Wilfried and his team all the best and much success to preserve and protect this lovable and livable spot on earth!

Aside from the high price we paid, we did not see any white shark. Very disappointed with the experience, since they explained that they have not seen each other for months because the killer whales are killing them. This they should have explained before paying as we feel cheated.

Kind to the payment of the excursion, then ..... no one! Maybe because we spoke bad English.
And then not seen big white. We understood that it was almost no more on the spot where the cages are placed.

Don't do this trip until they Great Whites have returned. We wasted valuable time and money that could have been better spent elsewhere for our vacation.

Sad that the staff and crew know there are no Great Whites out there now, but still take your money. I wish we had done proper research prior to booking this trip.

It was an anticipated high point of this adventure.
