Can't find everything like you can in a bigger store

Knew about how difficult it would be to return stuff at Maplin but still ordered and paid online for a "brand new" air cooler at Edmonton Ravenside because all other places have sold out. Asked specially about terms and conditions of returning it on collection and was told as long as I don't open it, there will be no problem returning it.
Kept the air cooler in the car boot for four days because I've ordered air conditioner at another place, took it straight back to the same place for a refund, surprise surprise, on arrival before the store manager Mr S even looked at the unit, he started being very suspicious and rude, treated me like a liar, open the box, told me it is not in original packing and took out a piece of plastic in the box, accuse me of having used it despite the fact that there was no other evidence whatsoever! E.g there will be water marks on the any air cooler if it has been used! It turns out that the air cooler has already been opened before it was sold to me!
The whole fuss took more than 20 minutes I was treated like a liar with no dignity, this was the the worst customer service I've ever experienced, I would never order from Maplin again!
