Manzanita Outdoor Review

Don't get taken by their "Rewardz" program! They leverage it to cover the fact they are more expensive, but will rebate you 2% at the end of the year. What they don't tell you, is that you only have 90 days to use those funds. I purchased $7,500 in Kayaks, and got a rebate check for $145 which expired before I could even get back to their store to use it. Lets also be clear that the $145 was for merchandise in their store that had already been marked up 100%. So literally my 2% was only really costing them 1% in Rewardz. The program is a scam..................

Went there to buy some climbing equipment. The service was excellent They answered all of my questions and I even got a discount :)

I visited the bike shop within this store. Very happy with the on the spot service I received. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They fixed my bike immediately enabling me to ride that day. Highly recommend this shop.

The store is full of quality products, including the unexpected. The service in the bike side of their business is what impresses me enough to write a review - Derek consistently goes beyond great customer service, is a good wrench, and has good tips on single track.

We ordered in a pair of pants because they didn't carry it in black. $20 fee to order but when they came in they didn't fit. We wanted to buy the same pants in another color in the correct size but they would not credit the $20 already paid to the new pants but would only credit back to the credit card $10. So it ended up costing me $10 and I got nothing for it. Needless to say it cost them a $68. Hmmmmm!

When I can't find it at The Hike Shack this is my number 2 go to place for outdoor gear. A little more big business but still has a very helpful staff with lots of good equipment.

Locally owned and operated. I prefer shopping locally to help keep the merchants in business. I could have purchased our 2 kayaks online, but chose to buy them here instead. Friendly helpful staff and they are knowledgeable about their products. Also had 2 bikes tuned up this spring and they ride beautifully. Nice job Manzanita !

Nothing but Kudos for this place. They went over the top to help me with some hiking boots that failed prematurely.

I had a great experience at Manzanita! The new store manager was super friendly and helpful, and was able to get me into a really nice rental mountain bike for about half the cost of other shops that I had been calling. I showed up for the bike in the morning, and was all set up and out the door in no time on the ride. Super easy return at the end of the day, too. Its nice when you can just remember the good times on the ride and not have to have a bad taste in your mouth from a rental experience. I'll definitely go there every time for my mountain biking needs!

I had the worst customer service ever here! All is fine and dandy until you might need to make a return. I bought a stove (MSR) that after 1 use failed me out in the field. When I tried to return it, even the owner of Manzanita would not help me at all except to send the stove back to the company and make ME pay for shipping. Rediculous! I contacted the company myself and they confirmed that the store had switched out some old parts on my "new" stove before I bought it.
I will never shop here again!
