The food is AMAZING! I get the tenderloin sliders with sweet potato fries... My only negative is the lack of state guideline adherence. Our waitress wore a mask but that was about it. The young hostesses were not.
First let me start by saying that Mannings is AWESOME!!! The FOOD IS GREAT to begin with but then when I go to pick my food up with the curbside delivery I find out that you get complimentary drinks. The hospitality and friendliness are some of the best I have seen in a restaurant. Mannings is always at the top of the list of places to get great food!!

Great place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food considering it is in a small town that is quickly growing. Love the rib eye, baby back ribs and their burgers. Been here three times already. Good place to have a company or group meeting upstairs indoors or on their roof top area.

I was not happy with my server! 2 out 5 of the entrees had cold baked potatoes! Crab cakes had a lot of filler! Grilled chicken was bland! I m am from the Maryland area and have had better crab cakes at Red Lobster. I don t mind paying for quality but this food was average! I can t speak for the location in New Orleans but Clayton, North Carolina was not good!

Downtown Clayton has a wonderful restaurant. The waiter was excellent and so was the food. The portobello mushroom appetizer and the creme brulee were amazing.
Popular place on weekends with some 'high class' offerings. The basics are done extremely well. Got a burger and it may have been the best I've ever had. Others in my party mentioned their entres not being as good as they wanted them to be but I was impressed with the quality of mine.
My wife and I are Clayton locals and this is our go-to place for hamburgers. We have yet to try anything else on the menu but if you're looking for a good burger place, GO HERE! Highly recommended.
Jalolenos in that burger were no joke. Will return for more.
Nice local place with fabulous food. They have something called a courting board at the front of the resturant that is pretty neat to see. Had never heard of one until visiting here. We will definitely be back.

I took my wife to Manning's for lunch today. We both had the angel hair pasta. She had it with shrimp and I had mine with shrimp and chicken
The food was very good. I don't like salty food and the way this was prepared was perfect for me. The wife needed to add salt but she also enjoyed her food very much. The food was a solid 4 stars.
The problem is the service was terrible. We were greeted at the door with a smile and seated immediately but that's where it ended. The waitress came and took our order and that was the last time we saw her until she brought the check. Someone else delivered our food and no one ever came to us and asked if everything was ok. We never got a refill for our drinks. We were never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. This would have been ok if we were eating at a Waffle House. Not ok when we are paying $20 for a pasta dish.
It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review on a restaurant but this was just totally unacceptable.
Final thoughts: I don't mind paying a premium price for good food but I will not accept bad service no matter how good the food is.
We will not be eating here again.
Not Covid safe. Half the staff had no face covering and most of those that did, did not wear them properly.
The food and service did not meet my expectations. For a small community, the prices were high and the dishes were disappointing at those prices. A visit is worth a try though. One nice feature is that they offer a large number of half portion dishes.
Clayton is a smaller quaint town, so Manning s was easy to find with easy on street parking. The presentation is contemporary.
The menu had a nice assortment of dish options. The spinach salad was unique and good while the gumbo was fell short. I was indifferent to the spinach artichoke dip appetizer.
The service was friendly but absent most of the time when needed. The bathrooms were gross.
Just ok. If you are going to be an upscale steakhouse, then be one. Service was mediocre @ best. We had to ask for a wine & drink list, we weren't told about any specials. Pretty standard fare....Goat cheese spinach salad with bacon dressing, etc. No real creative out of the box thinking.

Beautiful place and delicious food, however it took longer than I'd prefer (about 45 minutes) to have the orders delivered to the table. Our waitress was kind and precise.
Must climb stairs for best dining experience, as the main level, even though handicap accessible, is noisy and cramped. Food was good. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Disappointed to see that some staff, including the young man who brought our food out for curbside pick up and several patrons were maskless, especially since the restaurant was very busy. Had I known that before I ordered, I would have chosen another restaurant.

We chose to eat at Manning s due to all the negative comments concerning the restrictions or lack of restrictions concerning the Covid virus. It seemed so nice to eat at a restaurant that was running like usual and not running half capacity. We didn t have a reservation so we had to wait a little while but that was to be expected for a Saturday night. The staff was extremely nice and the food was off the charts! I got one of the best pieces of Mahi I have ever eaten, and the sides where just as good. My wife got a steak, and it was so tender, steak sauce was not required. We will definitely be back before long!
My husband and I love Mannings! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful and Howie is always engaged with his customers. I love the feeling of normalcy and seeing human beings without face coverings. If there is a deadly disease and you're scared of catching it, stay home! For the rest of us who are actually healthy (and btw, mandates aren't the law), we will enjoy eating at Mannings repeatedly!

Won't be going back, and not just because the macaroni and cheese was tasteless and I found a hair in my pork slider. Management doesn't take safety regulations seriously, and I can't support a business that puts their staff and customers at risk.

Just gave Mannings Restaurant a try based on the many 4+ star reviews on Google. We relocated here 3 years ago and have yet to discover a "favorite restaurant" that we can return to time and again. Now we have. They absolutely deserve every 4 and 5 star review posted here. Go. Now.

This was my second trip to Manning's. The first time was good. The food was good but I must say the wait time was pretty high. We had a party of four and sat upstairs. Our server at that visit was not very attentive, several different people brought our food upstairs, walked past our table and set it up on a bar where it sat for a little while before the waitress eventually brought it back to us. The system did not seem to be working. My wife and I decided to give it another try tonight as I know sometimes businesses have "off" days where they are not at their best. Tonights visit was excellent. Our food came just as ordered and within about 10 minutes. Our waiter, who was also the bartender (Nat or Nate) was very attentive to our table and was very friendly. One of the things that set this experience apart was when I had accidentally got dressing on my dress shirt and was trying to get it off. A man, who I presume was the owner, must have seen me trying to clean my shirt off and brought over a tide stick. How ingenious it was for a restaurant to have one of these in stock, but also offer it to their customers. The food was amazing and the service was hands down fantastic. I look forward to my next meal at Manning's.

My mother threw my bridal shower here and it was amazing!!!! The atmosphere was great, the staff was great, and the food was great! The space was very accommodating and just overall great! I highly suggest having an event here!!!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! My wife and I were looking for a nice date night, and Manning's really delivered great food and an awesome atmosphere. Mr. Manning himself was very involved, whether it was greeting those waiting for tables with a glass of wine or water, bussing tables, or even taking our order while the waitress (Vicki) put in our appetizer order. We were very impressed with the hospitality and care given to each guest. The real star of the show here is the food... The Pork Tenderloin over grits was very hearty and had an exquisite flavor profile. I even took half home. My wife had the Grilled Salmon, which was just as delicious! Thank you for making our night, we have new place for our date nights.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I recently celebrated a pre-birthday dinner with my boyfriend here. We have been a few times in the past year. Food is always consistent and good. LARGE portions and that GUMBO make you wanna slap ya mama(in a good way) lol. Our server Bre is always very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, we ask for her when we dine there. The owner/chef is welcoming and knows what he doing in that kitchen

Extremely expensive. Loud & noisy. I got the pork sliders. There was no sauce and there was one little piece of lettuce that was maybe an inch by 1 inch that was wilted. The sweet potato fries were soggy. We won't be going back.
Food is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Quaint ambiance which is adorable. Rooftop dining is the best. Their crab dip is to die for! Egg rolls come in just as good. Highly recommend this fine eatery!

We were in downtown Clayton tonight and randomly chose Mannings. We will for sure be back. Brie, our very attentive waitress, took great care of us, making sure our drinks were topped off. At prime time, we did not have to wait long, but was nice to relax a few minutes before being seated after a busy day. My husband and I each had a burger and the mac 'n cheese was devine. I eat mac and cheese with a fork, but it was served with a spoon. Haha.. we will be back for sure.
A wonderful deck on the roof to enjoy a glass of wine a beautiful dinner and a sunset worthy of discussion. Make reservations to enjoy your little piece of paradise
