Lovely grounds and even better dinner. I definitely wasn t expecting the building to be pink! I enjoyed a wedding rehearsal dinner and every dish was lovely!
What an amazing place to go for eats and drinks, stopped and they were doing a bbq, had a burger, was delicious. Amazing sitting on the terrace with such a lovely veiw. Highly recommended to all. Staff were amazing to, Harry and Tracy were made sure we were looked after very well.
As a former employee of 10 yrs standing and now a member i have nothing but admiration for this club and the facilaties on offer are of a first class standard with excellent 2 courses good food well stocked pro shop and freindly staff
Great course ...Waterfall at its best and the wine from the vineyard isn't bad!!! Enjoy
Mannings Heath Golf Club is a part parkland, part heathland course, situated just a few minutes east of Horsham, and easily accessed by the A23 from a large catchment area across Sussex and beyond.
Widely regarded as one of the finest courses in the county- regularly playing host to PGA Europro Tour events, the Waterfall course, dating back to 1905, definitely has a substantial amount of character and challenge, and was considerably more undulating than I was expecting! As you might expect with it not being the longest of courses at just over 6000 yards from the standard Yellow tees (stretching out to over 6700 yards from the tips), the emphasis is typically on finding fairways rather than trying to overpower the course.
Overlooked by the magnificent bright pink 17th century clubhouse, the course gets off to a fairly gentle start on the first, and this theme continues for the opening few holes, before really coming to life with the beautiful 'punch bowl' par 3 5th, a very unique short hole with the green seemingly carved into the terrain.
A solid string of par 4s and 5s between the 6th and 9th help to round out the front 9, with the approach shot in to the 6th, and the tee shot on the 9th being the highlights photogenically! The par 3 10th is another interesting short hole, with a large elevation change to a small green.
The 11th is fantastic golf hole. Visually from the tee (particularly from the tips) there is almost no room to hit your tee shot, hitting down a chute, with water running up the left side of the hole, especially if you struggle with a right to left ball flight! Once on the fairway, the work still isn't done, as you may need to shape your approach into a fairly large green to avoid overhanging trees. A cracking par 4.
The next standout hole is the tricky par 5 13th. Whilst it appears to be a decent birdie (or better) opportunity on the card, the approach shot into the green plays steeply uphill which will prevent all but the longest and highest ball hitters from having any chance of being on in two. Once on the green (after catching your breath and trying not to be distracted by the view back!) a two putt par will be close out a tricky hole!
Three of the next four holes yield reasonable scoring opportunities, with the short par 3 14th to its narrow green, the short uphill (and potentially driveable) par 4 15th, as well as the short par 5 17th. The course finishes with the fantastic par 4 18th. A downhill tee shot to the fairway with a long iron or hybrid will set up a mid to short iron approach over the valley and up the hill to a well guarded green. Many a scorecard (including my own) will be ruined by this hole!
Overall, The Waterfall course is a challenging test, in fantastic condition (as one would expect!), at a venue which oozes class. Whilst the course boasts a number of stand out holes (5th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 18th), for my liking there are a few too many filler holes which prevent it from being higher up in my list of must plays in Sussex!

Tricky course especially when playing for the first time. Worth taking a buggy, some extremely steep climbs. Very picturesque. Well maintained and interesting layout
Simple but at times innovative kitchen. Casual atmosphere in a posh setting.
Great golf on a top course with friendly service, good food and drink!
Special place for wine tastings and pairings - and superb food
Great course layout but could be in better condition considering its prestige. Ive been there a year now and the course is improving though. Although it was a shame to lose most of the kingfisher course.
Used to play here all the time when the 2nd course was 18holes shot a lifetime best 76 once so have good memoires.. played the now 9 hole kingfisher today Monday. Awful condition bunkers full of water ' greens have not been cut for at least More
Extremely rude women who answered the phone. She had the audacity to ask why I would be booking my husband a round of golf not letting him do it as he would "know what he is doing". Plus a club that clearly cares more about getting as many players out over safety in a pandemic. Shocking customer service
A friend booked the cheese and wine tasting as a surprise birthday gift. What a great time we had. Charlotte, who was so knowledgeable about the wines and super efficient in answering our questions, she really made our afternoon and we went home with carefully selected bottles of their lovely wine! Loved it.
Mannings Heath used to be a favourite course of mine but sadly it is no more! The management have a strange sense of customer service and are driven purely by revenue. Having played recently the greens were in reasonable condition but many fairways were particularly poor, hole 3 being unplayable. There are many better courses available to play locally that will extend a warm welcome to visitors...... something that Mannings Heath does not. I have made a point not to play or visit the club again.
Great course, felt really welcome
Quite a walk, some fantastic holes - brilliant halfway house
Impressive in every way, staff, clubhouse, course, food. Is there anything else you need when playing golf? And it's a vineyard!
Not wrong, people are not only golf clubs with championship fairways and ordinary nine-hole fairways, but also vineyards, winemaking and tasting.
The course uses natural hilly terrain, with steep slopes and thick gullies. There are many blind holes in the unfamiliar; the test of the uphill to the knee is better if you are worried.
Don't receive the signal completely, don't expect the app to be positioned, but isn't it better to have no phone network interruption? !
I gave a rating of 4.5 and rounded to 5! Fun and challenging course! like!
Shame reduced to 2 x 9 hole course but still enjoyable
My wife took me for a wine tasting as a surprise. What a wonderful afternoon it was. Fantastic service from when we walked in.
The whole story of the wines and where they come from and how they produce them was told. We then got a cheese board and explained how the cheeses and wine compliment each other.
They then left us alone to enjoy the wine which was nice as we could talk about it with each other.
The setting is amazing with views of the golf course. After we had done the wine and cheese Ben took us around and showed us the grounds and where they are now growing the grapes. Ben was an excellent guid.
We played the Kingfisher course today (early May 15) and although the mowers clearly hadn't been out on the fairways or greens for a few days it still played pretty well with the greens reasonably fast. The round was arranged through More
Great golf course. Great wine tasting experience and buggy tour. Thanks Barry and Harry
Unbelievable service from all staff. They have something special there. Awesome food and setting too.
2 great golf courses. Played the 9 hole on Monday (long but open and fairly forgiving) and the 18 hole yesterday (challenging but beautiful). Great hospitality - large outdoor terrace with full Covid safety, overlooking the course with great views in the beautiful Sussex countryside. BBQ options really tasty - great burger - and lovely wines.
Great course, in sublime condition and currently undergoing general improvements due to new ownership. Waterfall course now open to public albeit at a hefty price tag.
A stunning place, wonderfully picturesque and beautifully decorated, a perfect wedding venue with super attentive and efficient staff. The view over the golf course is stunning...
Wow where to start. (Stay 16th/17th sept)
Set in an absolutely stunning location on the edge of the South Downs, picturesque does not do it justice. The main building has been revamped from the pictures and is vibrant and historic in equal measure.
A group of us stayed in the cottage on a golf package organised directly with the club. 1 night, breakfast. 9 holes on the kingfisher early doors, followed by 18 on the Waterfall in the afternoon on both days.
The 9 is a good and much needed warm up before hitting the main course which is a challenge and a half. It you don't drive and position well of the tee you end up in all sorts of trouble. The greens were well maintained and a few were potential score busters if you don't concentrate. Fortunately I was on form by my standards and hit a 22 on the second day
The staff throughout were fantastic, unfortunately I didn't get any names for a personal mention but all deserve a pat on the back for top draw customer service. Food and drink was of an excellent quality for the price and i came home with a box of wine as well. Much to my wife's happiness.
If I had to say anything negative it would be that the steam room was out of action.
So thank you Mannings for a truly wonderful weekend and if I didn't live 80+ miles away I would become a member in a heartbeat. However our little society will be back.
Booked a wine tasting with cheese at 6pm on a Thursday. Annabel was our host, she was excellent. Wines were delicious as were the cheeses. Afterwards we ate from the bar menu along with a wine of our choice from the tasting menu. Would highly recommend!
Warm, friendly service and a surprising array of wines for tasting. The place will be something rather special once their vines come to fruition within the next 5 years. Though I imagine it'll be a struggle to keep their wine prices as reasonable as for the Western Cape stock. The staff seem genuinely happy to be there.
Loved the course, definitely now one of my favourite courses, very nice staff and very helpful with the wines on sale!
A friend booked the cheese and wine tasting as a surprise birthday gift. What a great time we had. Pro shop shuts very early, so it's difficult to get a quick session at the range after work. Although the course was great fun and had a good variety of technical shots and long drives.
Beautiful golf and wine estate run by excellent staff. Yearly events for all the family.
My wife went to have afternoon tea for her birthday and to look around for our daughter wedding. Lovely place. But the tea was very expensive for what they had. My two daughters and mother in law and wife thought a nice peace of cake would of been nice .
Played the Kingfisher which is a very good 9 hole course. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Beer on the terrace afterwards is great too.
