This place is always hopping on Sundays. They have great drink specials and their breakfast is pretty good. Their French Toast is amazing and kind of unique. They use thick cut Hawaiian Bread and it s full of flavor. Where the fail is with their sausage patties and sometimes the eggs. They CONSISTENTLY arrive cold especially the sausage patties. It s sad really because the sausage patties are really tasty with a nice spice to them. You can see how cold the eggs are in the picture cause the cheese is already pretty solid again. Mentioned this at least once to management but they haven t figured out how to resolve in the long term apparently.

Went here for brunch on Father's day without a reservation. Had no issues finding high table seats in the bar area which is first come first served. The drinks are great, but be warned that the bloody Mary is massive and difficult to get through! I highly recommend the frose for a hot day though. Food portions are large, so you won't go hungry and the appetizers are awesome (try the different variations of loaded tots). Prices are on the higher side for brunch, but still reasonable considering the area. Drink prices are actually pretty good, most of the mixed drinks are around 8.50.

Will be back.

The food is pretty good, but the service is pretty slow. the Crowds Are obnoxious! If you think you're going to come here on a weekend for breakfast or brunch, think again! I'm so sick of this place and they're stupid 2 hour waiting list. I mean, it's not THAT good. the problem is, that this restaurant is too popular for its own good. They let large parties of 6 to 10 hog up the entire patio and or dining room, and allow them to sit there for 2 to 3 hours while they indulge on bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. if you're going to offer bottomless mimosas, you should also impose a 2-hour dining max. this is not a nightclub. This is not bottle service where you pay $500 and get to sit there at your very own table for as long as you want. I don't understand why the restaurant allows this?! It's so aggravating. Only time to eat breakfast here on a weekend is between the hours of 1 and 4.

Great comfort food at a great price. Worth the wait if you show up during peak hours or, dare I say it, on holiday's. Friendly staff and dog friendly patio. Make sure to take advantage of their bottomless mimosas.

Was in cali for vacation from az. Stopped here at mama's 39 to start our week and I really shouldn't be surprised when the coffee just had a weird after taste that I should have just ran for the door. When our server came to us he was very nice and polite but we ordered our food then waited... waited...waited thank goodness we didn't need to leave in any kinda rush. About 30 to 40mins we waited. We received mine breakfast something with Hawaiian rolls ham cheese and sausage everything I love. My husband got the philly cheese steak thing. And we both tried our food and I went um. Weird. Some kinda after taste deconstructing the food the sausage was a cheap over good burnt meat
And the his steak same thing. I would not recommend this place. Clean the stove or get better choice of meat. Spending 40 dollars on 2 cups of coffee and 2 mediocre meals.

The food was So GOOD and our server was very polite and helpful. If you're ever in the Huntington Beach area, you need to stop in. The desserts names are crazy. Going to bring my husband next time I have to come this way.

We went to MAMA'S 39 for my wife's 39th birthday... Seemed fitting. Great place for a variety of occasions. A very "home like" feel. The staff is great and the food is epic. You won't leave unhappy.

I was stuck in Huntington Beach and very hungry. Mama's on 39 popped up on the maps, it was close by and didn't look terrible. We took the plunge. Decent tap list, big comfortable tables, and the food is pretty good!

Although the menu changed in the opening months as Mama's ironed out the wrinkles, we've been very happy with the food and service here. ALL of the burgers are worth trying, and even sandwiches I don't normally eat (tuna melt) are great. You'll never go wrong with any the of the breakfast dishes. Clear favorite appetitzers are street tacos and chicken sliders eaten in the inviting semi-circular bar (wish there was a few more tables)... and Thrifty ice cream is a nice finishing touch (love the walk up window).

To expansive for the money. Jesse was very nice. Waitress was not very good. Didn't recieve a tip, because of poor service, never once did this waitress ask for more coffee, also she didn't leave a pin so we could give her a tip. Food was so so, the question is, would we come again? Answer is a hardy NO!

Great sandwiches and endless fries. Very friendly staff but they need to watch out for the drunk construction workers that cuss and sit at the bar and make fools of themselves during happy hour hours.

Had the chicken and waffle and the avocado toast. Everything amazing the only thing was the arugula in the toast plate was drenched in balsamic . A light drizzle would have been good . Other then that it was amazing.

Was at the restaurant this morning for the World Cup final they opened up late and the sound wasn t on very disappointed. I left and they lost a customer for good. Most restaurants in orange county do not have the concept of the world cup. Old world restaurant can teach all how to do it Bernie B. Is managing very well and if he were to reveal how much the place has made in just the last 3 weeks? All bar and food venues would follow their lead

I've been to both this Mama's location as well as the one in Los Alamitos. This location is much bigger. Both locations have easy parking and share the same menu for the most part. The Los Alamitos location was a former pizza restaurant so I believe that location has pizza options as well. Mama's is straight up comfort food done great. I've had chicken and waffles, burgers, and the grilled cheese. All were very very good. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

The server was nice. The coffee was not good, even after getting a new cup ($3.25). Breakfast for two (two egg dishes, two coffee, one pancake) was $50 with 18% tip. A little steep even for HB / NB prices.

Delicious food and we only had to wait about 20 mins for a table at 1 pm. It was Saturday so they had $5 mules. I got the fish tacos which were good and my husband got the pulled pork and macn cheese sandwich.

Had a large party of about 12 people here for brunch at 11am on a Sunday morning. The staff was great and our waitress was awesome. (her name was Cori I think). A few people did bottomless mimosas and they were quick with the refill. The price was a little expensive for the type of food (think classic diner dishes) but the atmoshpere and Location make up for it. For 2 people with coffee, no alcohol, 2 breakfast dishes and a side it was $45 plus a tip.
