Visited Malibu Riders about a month ago and loved everything about them. I had the horse Apple and he was so pleasant and gentle with me. Would recommend 10/10. Staff was also excellent and very thorough addressing any concerns.

Our Guide Dee was super sweet, knowledgeable and very calming for nervous riders. She picked appropriate horses depending on each riders comfort level. Horses were very well behaved and pretty much followed the leader horse without much instruction from the riders. Highly recommend.

Dee was amazing as a guide and we had the most spectacular ride in the Malibu mountains. The views were amazing and the horses were happy and responsive. It was a great late afternoon ride with beautiful light and the terrain was beautiful. Dee was super engaged with all of us and her leadership created a cohesive bond between us all even though we were strangers. She has a gift of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

I actually worked with this company on a training basis. They had me working 12 hours a day with no pay. They do not properly take care of their horses. They re hooves are never picked, they re only brushed where the saddle goes. And on top of that they use trainees for free labor and then never hire you. WORST PLACE TO GO! They do not take care of their animals and they treat their staff like free labor workers. Then they try to dodge you and deny anything. Not a good place to go. You get taken advantage of. And the riders are on horses that are not well taken care of. Terrible staff and terrible animal health.

What a treat and brilliant family day out! Took the 10AM Zuma ride with Lexie as our guide and she was amazing. The horses were well cared for, well behaved and the scenery was incredible. I would highly recommend Malibu Riders to take you on a short but very sweet adventure in the Santa Monica mountains. GO FOR IT ... YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Really liked our guides! Horses were great. We did the Paramount Ranch ride and I had forgotten how much of it had burnt down in the fire. If anything, I wish I had remembered that before going on that specific ride.

DO NOT USE THIS TRAIL RIDING FACILITY. The "methods" they use are extremely abusive and no doubt have caused multiple injuries to the horses. They constantly display pain and they refuse to acknowledge or act on the dozens of concerned reports.

Such an amazing time! My boyfriend and I did a 45 min trail ride on the Zuma loop in Malibu yesterday, it was so beautiful and the horses were really well trained. The instructor was so nice and helpful, definitely planning on coming back !

I have to contradict to the other one star reviews. We had a very nice tour guide with horses in a healthy state. Can absolutely recommend those guys!

My 9 year old daughter and I went on a beautiful Saturday to Paramount Ranch for a trail ride with Malibu Riders. We had the most pleasant experience from the guide to the horses to the trail. We definitely will come back and do their other trail ride in Zuma Canyon. I felt like we were so well informed on everything and taken care of and guide was very personable.

Such a wonderful time! A perfect day. Thank you Malibu Riders for getting everything squared away for us. And thanks Dee for being such an amazing guide!!

Took the Paramount Ranch ride today with my friend and my granddaughter. It was sad to see that the old movie town had burned to the ground in the Woolsey fire in 2018 but that did not detract from the ride. Our guide, Alison, was a delight. She was enthusiastic and very professional. Even when my granddaughter's horse acted up a bit, Alison was confident and efficient and everyone remained calm and safe. The ride itself is lovely with pretty canyon views and lots of poppies and other wildflowers. The horses are healthy and well cared for. It was time well spent. I highly recommend it.

Couldn t recommend this more. Ashley who lead the group was very informative. I felt safe and it was so fun. I am not a horse person but after the 1 hour experience I may be it was so relaxing and very fun! I will go again for sure.

This was my first time ever riding a horse, and Dee made it such a beautiful and unforgettable experience. I felt safe, and secure the entire ride. I loved how organized and how she went over all safety information before riding, and through out the ride she made sure to check in on each rider! I definitely will be back and will recommend to everyone! Amazing experience!!

Malibu Riders are great! We went on the 90 minute trail ride and had a wonderful time. Great views. Very sweet horses for all levels of riding experience. Ashley our guide was super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend!

We just went yesterday for my kids 12th bday gift and we had such a wonderful time out there. Ashley was amazing doing it all by herself. What a beautiful day we had out there. We will surely go again and recommend anyone to go. Thanks so very much!

great experience, perfect huge ocean view, and I loved my horse Trillion. The only bad thing was we paid for 90 minute ride and only got 75 minutes. Just make sure you get what you paid for.

Last year my husband took me on a private ocean view ride in Malibu for my my birthday and it was so beautiful and romantic! I've been wanting to go back ever since!

I've been feeling a little down lately with the Covid isolation, so I got a bunch of my friends together and we did a group ride! Since we won't be able to do our typical Friendsgiving get together, this was a great alternative! We easily stayed 6ft apart, and were still able to chat, laugh, and spend some quality time together. A bunch of us are already taking about coming back next month!

Our guide, Ashley, was so funny and nice! She even text me this beautiful pic of some if the horses we rode to remember them!

We LOVE Malibu Riders. My husband and I have taken multiple trail rides and, for the first time, took our 9 and 11 year old sons on their first ever horse ride (if we don't count ponies at fairs that slowly walk in a circle). Ashley was phenomenal with our scared 9 year old. She talked him through everything, put him right behind her and chatted him up about everything from his horse's legendary long-distance racing career to what sports he likes to play. Within 10 minutes he was feeling fully comfortable, a little bit like a cowboy and definitely having a great time. We all did. The tour she took us on at Paramount ranch was beautiful, and watching my husband get soaked (optional) while his horse splashed in a little stream made my day. Another great ride...can't wait for the next one!

Ashley made our ride so special! She was personable and upbeat - which made the difference! She was a great guide and the scenery on the Paramount Ranch trail was stunning! I highly recommend going at sunset! We will be going back for sure.

Ashley was an excellent guide. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable. with the five of us. The horses were well cared for and safe. The scenery was soooooo beautiful; really nice to see all the new growth after the fires. Thank you for an amazing experience.

We had a wonderful experience with Malibu Riders. We did the Zuma Canyon trail with the ocean view. The horses were great and the trail was incredible. Our guide Nelly was great. She was super friendly and informative. Highly recommend!

This place is one of the best location to ride. Friendly Instructors. And the location is very beautiful and therapeutic. I took the family on a surprise horseback riding experience. My mom never has been on a horse, she had trouble, but overall the horses are well trained to follow the heard. So she was safe and that gave me a piece of mind. My dad hasn t been on a horse for over 40yrs so this was a great day for him. And my sister loved the therapeutic ride.
I highly recommend going here or there Malibu location as well.
I always wanted to experience horseback riding and going in water. Accomplished.

The guides are super sweet and will constantly check in with you to make sure you are comfortable. If there is a specific horse you want to ride, they will take it into consideration. If you are a more experienced rider as well as the people in your group, you can ask to trot and canter and they will do so when it is safe. About half way through the ride you and your group will get to take a picture with your horses. I honestly can't say enough good things about them.

Honestly it was the best experience, so much fun and the most fun i ve had in awhile. I will be going back soon to do it again because I loved it so much. It s worth it.

I had an AMAZING time on the 90-minute trail ride! It was my first time and this company far exceeded my expectations. The views were spectacular, the horses were well-mannered, everyone on the tour was friendly, and our guide (Chase) was phenomenal - so engaging and knowledgeable! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone interested in a group horseback riding experience. They were also very good about taking COVID precautions, but not allowing it to put a damper on the experience. COVID was in the backdrop of an otherwise perfect moment. It truly felt like we were in another world for almost two hours. The entire experience was worth every penny and I do plan on re-booking with them again sooner than later.

Malibu Riders was more breathtaking than we had anticipated! Ashley was an amazing tour guide, photographer and made sure we were all comfortable on our horses. The horses were well behaved and that was important for my wife who was a first time rider. The instruction of how to handle our horses took about 5 minutes but that was all we needed because the horses were well mannered, well behaved and well trained. We ll definitely be back and would recommend Malibu riders to anyone who asks.

Wonderful 1 and 1/2 Zuma trail ride with guide Lexi. I had a 10 year old who loves horses but is still getting over a bad experience and a 6 year old who had never been on a horse and had last minute jitters. Lexi was incredible compassionate, patient and calming and I always felt like she had our best interest in mind for us to enjoy the ride. The horses were in great condition and very pleasant to ride. Highly recommend.

I ve ridden with Malibu Riders 3 times now in the past year and every time is amazing. The staff are so friendly and fun and the horses are so sweet and cute!

Wonderful experience! I ve been riding since I was a child but this was only the 2nd ride for my 13 yr old daughter. I was blown away by our guide Chase! She is a powerhouse and mature well beyond her years!! The riders in our group were of varying levels of experience and she was able to navigate whatever question or challenge that came up with calmness and ease. I would definitely recommend Malibu Riders for anyone regardless of riding experience.

I took my 6yo and 7yo for their first ride this weekend. My daughter got scared when she first climbed on the horse, but Ashley was great and made her feel safe and had her follow directly behind her own horse so they could chat all the way. A great experience all around!

Our guides were lovely, professional and fun with years of experience. The ride was the perfect length - 1.5 hours - not too long, not too short. No experience necessary, and overall a really wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Loved my 1st two experiences. This is the only company I use when we have out of town guest visit us. The tour guides are always pleasant, informative, & knows their horses very well. Definitely recommend

Our team of 6 had a great experience riding around Paramount ranch with Lexi. Lexi has great customer service skills, whether it's in the office addressing my questions/concerns, or on the trail handling the horses. She's super upbeat, really helpful, matched the horses to the riders very well, and eagerly shares her vast knowledge. She also takes great care of the horses. After an hour, we had such a good time and bounded so well that it was a little sad to say goodbye to Lexi and her horses.

I had a wonderful experience during the Paramount Ranch Group Ride. The horses were great, the trail was very scenic, and the guides were informative and easy-going.

Opportunities for growth: It would be nice to notify riders that they will be met by the guides and horses on location. My group, as well as the other group, weren't sure if we were at the right spot as there isn't an actual structure there dedicated to Malibu Riders.

Overall, I had an excellent time! I would definitely recommend, and look forward to riding again with Malibu Riders in the future.

My wife and I wanted to take our 7 y/o on a horse for the first time, Lexi was great/informative to help us book our reservation and Ashley (our tour guide) made it memorable. Our daughter loved it and she won't stop talking about it. Ashley was patient, knowledgeable and passionate, we highly recommend Malibu Riders.

One of the best trail rides! My husband and I travel a great deal and it's become tradition to ride everywhere we go. It's nice to have Malibu Riders so close to home. This has become our go to local place to ride. The guide is so knowledgable and has a lot of experience and love for the horses. She's very nice and engaging which in turn makes everyone feel comfortable. It was nice to see life coming back to the trail from the fires 2 years ago. It makes you appreciate the new life and old life coming back to the hills of Malibu. The ocean views are breathtaking. My favorite horse would have to be Faye. But they're all great!! I highly recommend this place! Can't wait for our next ride!

Ashley was our guide and she was amazing! Super knowledgable and personable, couldnt have asked for a more perfect tour guide. I got to ride Hana (AKA Sassypants) and she was AWESOME. I have rode with Malibu Riders 3 times now and have always had a wonderful experience. I was happy to be able to ride Legend again after saying I had ridden him before. I love that they cater the experience to the riders confidence level and the views are amazing. Would recommend to both first timers and experienced riders.

Nelly and Bee were wonderful! It was a great sunset ride that Bee made special. She was kind and patient and attentive, always making sure we were safe and having a good time. We will definitely come again!

My new wife and I were on our honeymoon and had a noon ride scheduled through Zuma canyon. Unfortunately, she got food poisoning from sushi the night before. It says that their hours begin at 9 AM, which is laughable. I tried calling the minute that they were "open" to cancel or potentially reschedule- I called repeatedly for hours. Eventually, someone answered and told us that the horses had already been sent, so that they couldn't reschedule or refund my money. We asked if we could schedule another ride the next day for a reduced cost since we had already paid for this one- also nothing. NO help or concern for the situation in any way. HORRIBLE customer service.

Surprised my husband for our 16 yr anniversary and had a great time. Ashley was awesome and our horses Legend and Baily were such good sports. Looking forward to returning with our kids.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Shawna was very polite and personable on the phone and booking was very easy. The price is very fair. Taylor was our trail guide and she is a sweetheart. The trail was absolutely beautiful with so many wildflowers, stunning views, and even a small creek that the horses walked through. All of the horses were lovely. Mine was a retired racehorse that followed my lead perfectly. We had time to bond with every horse before the ride... because we arrived ON TIME! (You need to arrive before your trail time. Two riders arrived at the trail time and we had to wait for them to get settled. This is rude to do to other riders!!!) Thank you Malibu Riders for an awesome experience and memory we'll cherish. We look forward to booking again soon.

Daughter and I rode the paramount ranch. The guides Scott and Sarah were very helpful, knowledgeable, and easy going. I wish they had an option for a 2 or 3 hour ride as well. Nicely organized and great for any age rider.

Highly recommend Malibu Riders! We went on a ride for my daughter's 11th birthday and they made the experience so special from the very beginning with a birthday hat/lei and even the chance to paint her horse. Chase was a wonderful guide and the trail at Paramount Ranch was beautiful.

Where should I start! This was such a wonderful experience. Exactly what my daughter and I were hoping for. Our tour guide was Ashley and we couldn't have asked for a more informative and kind guide. the horses were well kept, happy and healthy. The scenery was breathtaking granted we were blessed with the most beautiful weather but this was definitely not the usual trail ride. The horses playing in the water was the highlight of our trip. We also took Delight in learning the history of the movies and TV shows that were shot there. We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience.

First off, our guide Kelly was beyond AMAZING!!! So talented so smart and a 100% horse lover!! This experience was incredible. I surprised my father with this, and he loved it. The process was simple and straightforward. Definitely coming back, definitely!!!!

I m visiting my California family with my 6 year old daughter and we had a last minute idea to take her horseback riding. When we first called they had no availability but immediately after I hung up they called back with an open spot for us. They were really trying to get us in since we were in a quick visit and my daughter was so excited. I truly appreciated them doing that for us so I already liked the place. Our leader was Janece (probably butchered the spelling). She was the sweetest and so encouraging to my first time rider. My daughter LOVED her experience. The trail was beautiful, the horses were great, our leader was the best!
