Maker Academy: Empowering Students to Design, Innovate, and Make
Maker Academy is a leading provider of out-of-school enrichment workshops for students in Durham, NC. Our mission is to empower students to design, innovate, and make using science and technology. We offer hands-on maker projects that teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) topics through fun and engaging activities.
Our workshops are designed for students aged 10-14 who are interested in exploring STEAM topics outside of the traditional classroom setting. We believe that learning should be fun and interactive – that’s why our workshops are focused on hands-on projects that allow students to explore their creativity while developing important skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
At Maker Academy we understand the importance of providing a safe learning environment where students can feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. That’s why all of our workshops are led by experienced educators who have a passion for teaching STEAM topics in an engaging way.
Our small-sized multi-week workshops take place on weekends so that they don’t interfere with school schedules. Each workshop is carefully designed to provide a unique learning experience with different themes such as robotics engineering or coding fundamentals.
We believe that every student has the potential to become a maker – someone who can use their creativity and technical skills to solve real-world problems. That’s why we’re committed to providing high-quality STEAM education programs that inspire young minds to explore new ideas and develop valuable skills for the future.
