Maingate Islamic Academy is not only a place that my son learns, it is a place that he has grown. He counts the days to be at Maingate. The main reason was the principal. She has always greeted him every day, always has had a high sense of attention to his-all the student's needs. He has felt belonged and cared. He has sensed the amount of care both with the Islamic spirit and the academics. In the current situation, that majority of the students are still being in the trauma of COVID19, Ms.Abeer- the principal paying attention to all safety details, has planed so many fun events for the students. A type of principal like her is one of a kind.
Going through some reviews, there were wordings like ABUSIVE- I must loudly say, this is an unfair, false personal accusation.

My both kids are attending Maingate Islamic Academy, they truly loves this place..It has created an environment which has allowed my kids to nourish socially and academically..
I am so glad with how my both kids has progressed, very cooperative teachers and really helpful and excellent communication.

Hats off to all the administrative staff and teachers for all your efforts in keeping our children safe.

Good place to grow your kids, you feel the big difference in the variety of information than what kids get in public education

i've been in Maingate for 3 years and it was a great experience, i had lots of fun with my friends and classmates. the school has 3 floors and mashallah it was a very fun and enthusiastic 3 years over there. i recommend you sending your children over there. it's like a second home for all children that go there, trust me once you got there you'll never feel like leaving the school. and once you leave it, you'll feel sad that you left it...

To be honest the school in terms of education is good and the home room teacher for my 2nd grader was excellent Ms.Kiani but the administration especially the principal has made my experience at the school a nightmare except one employee Mr. Maxwell who was very accommodating and respectful.
I can't believe how they continue to employ her as the principal. I really wasted my time in many discussions that go nowhere and they don't try to please parents and accommodate them and address their concerns. I tried several times through different means to have a meeting with her to address my concerns but I didn't get a reply not a phone call back not a meeting and only emails back and forth. To me it is really concerning that a parent is unable to have a face to face meeting or at least a phone call with the principal of the school.
I am pulling my kids out of the school at the earliest chance don't recommend the school at all unless principal is changed. For me the way the school is led is important and to me respect is important and communication is important which in my opinion the school needs to improve on.
I know one of the teachers at the school who described to me the atmosphere which I thought in my opinion is abusive, unprofessional and disrespectful environment between the principal and the teachers.
I am not the type of person who sees something wrong and be silent about it and maybe the school didn't like that. I was even surprised to get an email from the principal threating me with legal action because I wrote a google review. That shows another aspect of how they can't handle criticism. It was my mistake that I didn't do enough research about the school before I enrolled my children and previous google reviews should have been warning signs to make more research about the school. I was informed that many teachers left the school and many parents pulled their children out of the school too. I tried to speak with people responsible for the school but it seems they are convinced otherwise. The least I go do is leave a google review of my personal experience. We are in Canada and we are free to speak and no one has the right to threaten us for being vocal about our personal experience or freedom of speech.
Hint Hint: When you are reading a google review try to guess if it sincere or someone is forced to write it or wants to please someone or just counter attack another google review

i personally love this school. its environment is an amazing place for both students and staff. its staff and admins are incredibly amazing. the staff are really nice and help with everything you have concerns about and they walk you throughout the whole school and let you know what will be happening. the principal has made this school a better place by helping out students when something has happened and has also organized many events for the students to have fun throughout the whole school year. this school help to build confidence for students that are insecure about stuff. this school is also really good for building up the students Islamic beliefs. the teachers are really nice and very understanding. they help the students with everything that the student is struggling with

I went to school there when I was in jk-1st grade. Honestly it was a very good school but I heard all the good/nice teachers left except one of the bus drivers, he s a very nice person. I got bullied in 1st grade by the 8th graders, they used to touch me in weird places, kick me with a soccer ball, and laugh at me. I would recommend this school if you re a parent that want s your kid to go to a good Islamic school but they have to change the recess times and split it for the 1-4 graders and the 5-8 graders. That all I wanted to say.

My daughter and son both are currently registered with Maingate Islamic Academy. My kids are doing excellent and progressing well.

Overall Excellent!!! Staff really care about the children, so far it is the best and my children love it.

The principal Ms.Abeer Mowafy is always there , makes herself very visible and accessible to parents at anytime of the day.

The school has Amazing teachers.

Based on my experience I am happy to say that they know what they are doing.There education is at the top of the line.Maingate islamic academy deserves a five star review, thats why I am here to give it.

My son started at Maingate this year and as a father I am extremely happy with his progress socially as well as academically. He is excited to go to school in the mornings and comes home with so much to share. He has learned so much Islamically which is very important to us.
The atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming. Teachers show great care when interacting with students. The principal is highly professional and very polite, and most importantly shows that she truly cares for the students and families at Maingate. Staff at the front desk are always welcoming and have a smile on their face!
Thank you to all at Maingate for making our experience an amazing one. I highly recommend Maingate for all!

My son started in JK at Maingate this year. I have to say that it is one of the best decisions I have made. He wakes up full of energy and excitement to go to school every morning, eager to see his friends and teachers.
He comes home everyday ready to share what he has learned throughout the day. Most importantly, he relates everything he sees and does to Islam.
The staff at Maingate are exceptional, they work with each child individually to ensure that learning is made easy and fun.
The Principal is always welcoming, positive and caring ready to listen to any questions or concerns I have as a parent. She is always willing to help and does so genuinely. She and her team are highly professional and have really gone the extra mile to ensure that students at Maingate feel at home, are comfortable and are truly cared for.

my experience at Maingate has had it`s ups and downs. the Admin, always gives a smile on your face when you first walk in. the teachers are always straight up and don`t miss their jobs. the principal is always on point. the school is clean and i recommend this school for your little ones

It became the worst school after the new principal took place in the last 2 years. Non professional, oppressors and dictatorship personality. Abusing children, parents and staff !

I've been here before as a student, and it used to be good. Most of the good teachers left. There are places better than here. I recommend it if there is no where to go. I will give a solid 2 stars.

I am a parent for a JK student, the teacher was amazing, caring and responsible. She used hands on activities all the time and my son memorized most of the letter sounds from school, I didn't need to study with him. The school makes activities every now and then like sports day, food drive, spelling bee contests, and Quran and hadeeth contests. There is also barbecue day once every month and assembly day for students at the end of every month to reward the best students in each class for their behavior. My son is learning Islamic studies like duaa and knows how to do salah shockales me a very proud parent. In general, it is a very good Islamic school with responsible and caring teachers.

Maingate Islamic Academy has all the things you would look for to make sure your child has a bright and successful future. The administration is a hard-working team who make sure to put the learning of Islam and education first before anything else. All the teachers that have ever been to MIA are always qualified and very well experienced. Every single student loves the all of them. The principal is such an amazing woman who always takes the time to fix, care, and support.

With all sincerity, my experience at Maingate Islamic Academy has been a great professional and spiritual experience for me. My children enjoy their time in class and their teachers never seize to amaze me with their top of the notch quality heartful education. They create such a sweet bubble for the students to express themselves, and as a parent it gives me such comfort seeing them happy. As a staff member, I enjoyed the morning announcements that taught a moral to start off the day for not just the students, but everyone tuning in. The effort of the Administration to keep our children safe is not like I've seen before and I commend them for their caring sensitive yet professional attitude. The level of connectivity between the Staff members and Principal made us feel well taken care of. It was truly a network of positive energy and love that kept us going through this Covid-19 situation. Being apart of the MIA Family was a privelege, and I will never hesitate to keep in touch! Wonderful team! I have to say, you probably won't find a better school that has dedicated teachers teaching at the utmost best while preserving the social distancing and corona guidelines. Students' laughs soar in a healthy atmosphere forgetting they even wear masks from how much they enjoy their classmates company! I would definitely recommend Maingate Islamic Academy to any parent wanting to give their child an Islamic Academic experience they'll appreciate for a lifetime!
