Huge garden center with just about everything you would need! Have purchased house plants mid winter and they always take extra care to wrap and protect them for transit in the cold temperature.

Biiiiiig place with both plant accessories (pots, yard decorations) as well as TONS of plants. Monstera deliciosa, several philodendron and pothos varieties, a whole section dedicated to succulents, shelves of herbs, ferns and palms and even orchids. Prices are fair and in line with what I'm used to seeing. Oh, and there's a couple neat variegated things here and there (just today I was walking around and found what I think was a variegated Jade plant. Might have to go back for that!)

Family run business. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of plants and non-plant stuff. We recently bought a hanging chair from there and love it. Just today I bought a couple of varieties of hot peppers and my wife bought a bunch of other stuff. Of course, the one thing we went there for was gone, but who cares!

Some of the rudest staff, including management, which I've ever met in retail. We had a discrepancy over a 50% off after Christmas sale. Before Christmas the item was clearly marked as a certain original price then after Christmas the price was conveniently cut off the tag and a new, much higher "original" price was hand written on it before it was marked down 50%. I had a picture of the tag before since I wanted to make sure I came back for the exact item. A clerk, before Christmas, confirmed after Christmas it would be 50% off the price marked. Their claim was since the price ended in ".50" then that was a sale price even though prior to Christmas there was no sale signs or different "original" price on the item. After dealing with two very rude managers they gave it to me for 50% off the price I had proof of. They came up with every excuse... "Must have been a different tree"... "you spoke with a seasonal clerk and they don't know"... "you took a picture of the wrong tag, there was another tag on the tree with the real original price" (there was no other tag and I showed them 2 picture of the tree I took showing only 1 price tag)..."if it ends in .50 or .95 that's a sale price, that's how you know"...like we're supposed to know their hidden pricing strategy or scheme! I just don't get why people are so rude and mean when they're in retail. Go find another job if you hate the public and dealing with people. Other than that, they do have a nice selection. :)

Huge Garden Center, it's got everything for indoor & out. Multiple greenhouses to stroll through, visit & purchase from. They have all types of plants-all. Great floral section. Then a huge seasonal department too. Open all year round, my favorite is visiting during Christmas season and getting out tree there-they have the biggest selelction of trees and they're well organized. I love it here. Definitely visit.

Mahoney's has always been a family favorite. They have beautiful items during Christmas and it's beautifully decorated. Word of warning though: it's pricey. Their Christmas trees are all $1,000 and and I'm not sure if that includes the ornaments or not. We bought fillers for our tree and some can run up to $15.00 per branch .. we bought about 6 branches and it was almost $70.00. But it's the quality. So if you would rather quality over quantity then I would absolutely recommend. Also during the spring and summer months they have beautiful flowers! It's just a nice place to be in for sure.

Mind blowing selection and quite low prices! I giggled like a kid at Disney Land as we walked through their numerous greenhouses and outdoor display areas. The plants looked very healthy, and they have lots of exotic and tropical stuff I have not seen before. They also carry large trees, bushes, and landscaping decor, and tools and gadgets for birding, beekeeping, and lawn care. This place is amazing! Give yourself at least an hour to wander.

Two gold star rating for customer service people answering calls and at payment; 5 gold star for plants and the plant people who know their stuff.

"Why you gotta be so rude...."

Been holding on to posting this review since my first purchase 6 months backs because the plants are just so beautiful. I am almost hesitant to ask any question at the registry, even tried calling to avoid the face factor but no, every single time I get something rude in return. I kept going back because I just loved being among all the amazingly taken care of plants but for such bad treatment I may have to venture some place else :( you would think all the beautiful plants and "plant people" would have some influence on those dealing with customers, sadly no...

Went here with my girlfriend to get our first Christmas tree. The selection was great, prices fair, and the staff was superb. We didn't catch his name, but the man who helped us was super friendly and helpful. He even helped us get the tree onto our car. Will definitely be returning here for our trees from now on. Only problem is the fact that we probably could have gotten a bigger tree..

Very well organized place for picking your Christmas tree. Great selection, with people ready to shake it, trim the trunk and secure it in a net. Plenty of free parking. And the trees are in good shape so they will last for a month without shedding tons of needle.

I don't know what's happened to Mahoney's in Winch...

I don't know what's happened to Mahoney's in Winchester, but I believe something has changed. I purchased indoor plants about 2 months ago and all but one has died. I changed the soil and still waiting to see if it will survive. After careful inspection, I noticed the soil of dead plants had rust stained soil and there were soil knats. All my other houseplants are fine and thriving. That's when I realized there was something wrong with the newly purchased plants. I was so disappointed and never had a similar experience there.. I wondered if the plants are shipped from a different supplier or something else went wrong. I spent about $100. I called to explain my experience and was told I should have returned them before the 30 day policy. But I didn't notice the problem until after 30 days and didn't know the plants never had a chance until it was too late. I was told I over watered but I don't believe that is the case since I water all my plants regularly without issues. From now on, I will shop elsewhere for all my indoor and outdoor plants. I've switched to Weston Nurseries in Chelmsford. Their customer service is the best I've experienced at nurseries overall, their quality is superior to the rest and they have a wide variety of plants at reasonable prices. Mahoney's does a good job with their cut flowers, but I feel it's also overpriced. I expected a credit for the infested plants and still dealing with annoying knats although my own plants were not effected. I've been growing indoor and outdoor plants for decades. I know when plants aren't grown in proper conditions. Nothing worse than dealing with a supplier who will not acknowledge their own failure to provide good quality to customers. I was a loyal customer, never again. Their staff is not very helpful. Many seem to be annoyed when you ask for assistance or have a complaint even when it's valid and the first time in years.

The garden center is absolutely beautiful and had so many options for houseplants, outdoor plants and other garden accessories. Unfortunately, I noticed that some of the plants I was interested in purchasing were infested with mealybugs. Make sure to double check the health of plants before buying!

I tried to buy a gift card at Mahoney's Winchester...

I tried to buy a gift card at Mahoney's Winchester for my daughter's birthday the following day. This story does not end well.
After I ordered the gift card, an associate left me a voicemail looking for my credit card security pin. I returned their message a few minutes before closing time at 6 pm. The woman who picked up refused to let me talk to anyone, arguing they were processing their final customers in the store. While I was trying to explain I was calling to give them my payment information, she said "good bye" and hung up on me. I was out on business early the next morning and had no other option to call and get this card ready for my daughter. In short, terrible service in a very personal circumstance and a good lesson on how to lose a customer.

Over priced.
What costs $12:99 at Mahoney's, costs
$7:99 at Home Depot. Don't believe me, CHECK for yourself!

They're clearly not taking social distancing seriously. Curb side pickup has a 3 week wait time. I understand no company is under any obligation to cater to curbside pickup, but given the circumstances it's clearly the most responsible way to serve your community safely. A 3 week wait time isn't just a backup of orders, it's a complete lack of willingness to adapt from Mahoney's. They clearly have a much higher demand with everyone home doing home projects, but they're not doing anything to keep up or putting any money back into it to realistically help these customers. They could easily hire one extra person to handle all curbside pickups. A 3 week wait period is just them clearly not putting an ounce of effort into catering to the safer option for their community.
