I want to warn any apartment dwellers that have a Magic Pak unit. IF your lease has a strict ENFORCED Smoke Free policy the unit will be OK for any health concerns you may have. But please note the electric HVAC units do not vent fumes from your apartment to the outside. Any insidious odors such as second-hand smoke, incense or scented candle fumes that are drawn into your apartment from other apartments by the force of the fan can only be vented by opening windows. Certainly not practical in hot summer months or freezing winter months or if outside air is also heavily polluted. Use of these types of units should be OK in a single-family dwelling.
