Only a small butterfly centre but still very nice....
Only a small butterfly centre but still very nice. We were allowed to touch the butterflies and let them land on us. Overall very pleasant visit

A nice place with nice staff, although it was too expensive for what you get.
Small but worth seeing, if you wear glasses they will steam up though :-)
I took my partner here for a surprise day trip to explore the valley and she really enjoyed it.
Many butterflies with a great guide and a good chat with knowledgable staff.
We had a lovely train ride, we walked the valley and had a wonderful picnic by the Rheidol dam and topped it off with a visit here.
Brilliant place to visit! Best time to go is first thing in the morning! The butterflies are more active then!
Best butterfly house I've ever been to. Well worth a visit.
Excellent, friendly butterflies, very knowledgeable host, interesting place but not too big
Hi, I am 12 years old and came here with my family. I spent an hour here having butterflies land on me. then we went for a 2 hour walk around the reservoir and then ended with another hour in the butterfly house. I had lots of questions and the staff told me all about the caterpillars. I recommend this for anyone interested in insects although I wish I had worn a t-shirt as it was hot in there which is good for the butterflies. all my brothers and sisters aged 10, 8, 5 and 3 didn't want to leave. akiva hibbert
Beautiful butterflies freely flying all around. Great staff
Amazing place. The butterflies are beautiful and the kids love it.
Wow and Wow! From toddler to pensioners we had a fabulous trip here. The little ones were fascintated by the bugs and butterflies that they were able to hold. I held a scarab beetle and wondered at the beauty of it's irridescent carapace. Something for everyone and the owner is an absolute delight as well as a mine of information tailored to his audience. Well done sir....we'll be back this year!
Really lovely, there are lots of beautiful butterflies to see and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable, it's obvious that he cares a lot for the butterflies. Definitely worth a visit.
The butterfly place is not big but still great to have a look at the butterflies and if your lucky get to hold them on your finger. I had a few on my finger. X
Amazing, really enjoyed it! Owner very friendly and the butterflies were stunning.
A rather small but pleasant butterfly experience. Certainly not easy to operate now due to COVID-19 and having to introduce a one way system which doesn't work that well when there's small children and butterflies whisping around you - I'd recommend waiting till they have vacated before going in. But otherwise it's a nice place and I'm sure they did their best with what they had. Managed to take a few nice photos of butterflies (I would recommend anyone looking to do the same tasks a cloth or something to wipe down your lense due to the steam to heat the place).
Nice quiet peaceful location but expected a bigger butterfly house!
An amazing place to visit. Our children are still talking about it weeks later. Highly recommend to visit. Staff very informative and helpful. An awesome site to see butterflies among the tropical plants and their interaction with all the visitors.
Great experience and nice education for the children.
Wonderful stop off on the way to aberystwyth. Well worth a look and to help support the botanists with their research and breeding
Over priced not much to see for your money not that many butterflies either, 20 mins is plenty here.
Friendly staff, although the price is a not too much for an adult to enter the butterfly zone to see at max. 4-5 rare butterflies and all the common ones. However, it was beautiful and I would go again.
Small and quite costly for a family of four, can only really spend half hour in there, saying that it was an enjoyable experience
Never seen so many beautiful butterflies in one place.
really cute and a great place to visit for all ages, admission was a little expensive for one room but the overall visit made it worth it. just perfect
Small but lovely place, who doesn't like a butterfly house.
This is a beautiful place to visit if you can cope with butterflies flying around your head faster than you think is possible.
I personally felt that the pricing of entrance to this exhibit was steep considering the fact that the area the butterflies are in is actually relatively small. Combined with the fact that there is a one way system put in to place in the area and small children not being taught to observe such a condition it made social distancing a little bit of a nightmare. I understand that due to COVID-19 the system had to be put in to place for the site to reopen but I feel that staff could have managed this more effectively.
All in all an expensive but relatively pleasant experience.
Absolutely amazing day out don't let the size of the venue put you off
It's just like a TARDIS. Not much to look at from the outside but amazing on the inside :)
Small place but damn it's exciting chasing those butterflies!! Theres an interesting range of things to see, like insects and plants as well and they don't mind talking to you about what they do and very knowledgable on their subject matter. Spent at least an hour and half there and one interesting place to see.
Great experience, very busy, and only stayed about an hour which for the price wasn't great. But it was a great experience for the kids, would be 5 stars if the was maybe a little cheaper particularly during busy periods perhaps
Nice place. Once only experience. The guy there was so passionate and dedicated to the butterfly work. Great experience. It's worthwhile to visit definitely. Good for kids to learn the beauty of the nature.
We visited the butterfly house as an extended family on July 20th this year and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
The house was small but contained the most magnificent collection of butterflies that we have ever seen. There were so many different varieties!
The lovely garden and beautiful setting added greatly to the pleasure of our visit as did the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
We wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the butterfly house and we hope to visit again one day.
We absolutely loved the place! We will definitely be back to meet the beautiful butterflies again. There were so many of them! Our two girls didn't want to leave! Staff are so lovely and knowledgeable Thank you for an amazing experience!
There is lovely area outside where you can have a picnic and kids can run around.
Educational and specialist - entrance fee goes to developing the centre and ongoing research. Great photo opportunities.
So many butterflies to see and even land on you and go on to your finger
Arrived 10-40am left 16-45pm. I took two of my great nephews today to the butterfly farm, and as you can see, the boys did not want to leave, we really enjoyed ourselves, and learnt a lot about butterflies and other bugs. Brilliant, plus plenty of grass area for children to run off their excess energy.
Great little place. It is a bit pricey for what it is but interesting.
The venue was a lot smaller than I expected and the price of entry was expensive for what it was. I went to a different butterfly house on the Isle of White which had a greater number of butterfly species than this one and was a much More
So many beautiful butterflies . Small but well worth a visit.
Great place for all ages - the butterflies will even land on your finger when you dip it in honey water - you can spend as much time as you want in the room with the butterfly s and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and will talk you through what ever you want to know about butterfly life and will even advise best flowers and sell flowers which are suitable for encouraging wildlife a definite must
Tucked away in a beautiful valley we found this unexpected tropical paradise. Lots to see even before getting into the butterfly house itself, including some huge caterpillars, tropical fish and live coral, enormous moths, leaf cutter ants and a stick insect that was more like a branch in size! The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about the creatures; it was like being inside David Attenborough's head.
The butterfly house was a small but densely packed experience. Even if you know nothing about butterflies the experience of being in the presence of so many of them is quite magical. We had a member of staff guiding us some of the time so once again we were in our own private nature documentary.
It is warm and humid with the butterflies, so be prepared for that. It took a few minutes to get used to it, but after that I could have stayed in there all day watching them flitting around and learning about their behaviour and life cycles, very relaxing.
Outside we saw a Monarch and a Red Admiral (in October!) which reminded us how we can take our local species for granted.
Beautiful examples of tropical butterflies, and friendly staff. You are allowed to handle butterflies if you follow the clear guidelines on a sign near the entrance. Very warm inside, difficult on a hot day! The lady on duty was happy for us to take a cold drink break at the nearby cafe and return later
Second time we have visited this beautiful Butterfly House. It is just amazing, the amount of butterflies you have flying around you is wonderful, and to pop some sweet water on your finger and have them land is just magical.
Nice place but why allow dogs into a butterfly house!? Saw lots of dogs snapping at the flying butterflies.
We loved this little place. Despite being small it has a great variety of butterflies to enjoy; as well as a few creepy crawlies. My family and I particularly enjoyed having the butterflies landing on us.
Considering the cost of running a place like this, the entry fee was more than worth it.
Was a lovely experience just experience for what you get and not very big
Very nice been before. This time not many butterflies compared to the last time. Bit disappointed as we took friends.
Not a great deal there and only see a 20 by 20 tent of butterflies
I was planning to go their .. but its place in GPS is not accurate, So I wasted only my time looking for it & finally cancelled it from my activity list
Above all, but not only, in bad weather, the visit here is a highlight. Especially our grandchildren thought it was great that even here the butterflies "eat out of hand" (can be attracted with some sugar water).
Nice little butterfly house in small valley. We spent an hour visiting. We had a good look round came out for a breath of air then back in for another look. Staff helpful and freindly. Take a detour and give them a visit.
The Butterfly House looks understated from the outside and as a result the entry fee may put you off, but don t let that discourage you. This is a little gem and you won t be disappointed. We brought our two girls (aged 2 and 4) and they absolutely loved getting up close with the amazing butterflies and learning to gently encourage them onto their fingers. They will definitely remember their unique experience here.
Brilliant place with huge and beautiful butterflies and moths. The insect displays were very interesting too.
Quite small but beautiful butterflies which land on you. Enjoyed by all ages
Second visit here and will be going back. Small place but that makes it more special. Best butterfly house in the UK in our humble opinion!
We had a fabulous time here. The staff are so knowledgeable and interesting. The fact you get to interact with these amazing creatures is truly magical and our 5 year old had an amazing time. Dont forget to stop and look at the gardens outside too. The variety of plants is truly interesting.
Lovely idea as charity ran couldn't fault volunteers. However just too small not enough space to get around to socially distance. Just felt a bit disappointed that it was so small for the money. But plants and butterflys were beautiful.
Love this place! Butterflies are so friendly They love human! Keep landing on us! So many types of them. There are flowers everywhere. We went there at 10.15 and it was only 4-5 people. Amazing place!!
Fantastic value for money, great for all ages and thoroughly enjoyable trip
So beautiful seen butterflies we have never seen before. When a butterfly landed on my daughter she was thrilled very knowledgeable staff too.
Such a lovely place and so many beautiful butterflies.
This place is awesome and well worth the miles we travelled to visit it.
Wow what a magical place. The kids lived it can't wait to visit again.
This is a lovely place to visit. Small but plenty to see. The butterflies happily land on you and the staff were very knowledgeable.
It is in such a pretty setting too with a stunning, almost tropical feeling garden.
Very expensive for such a small place. Not very much to see, rescued two butterflies trapped in cobwebs. Very disappointing.
Worth staying in the butterfly house for the warmth to bring out all the butterflies. Each person had a butterfly land on them!
This attraction was hard to locate and expensive for a family of 4 when there is realistically only 1.5 hours worth of value. However, my children were delighted with the fact that they could hold and feed the butterflies. There was also a good bug exhibit with a selection of beetles, spiders etc. I particularly liked the orchid preying mantis. If you like butterflies this is well worth a visit.
Not very big but the money goes to keeping this program going so I was happy to pay it. Some lovely butterflies and well worth a visit. Would have got 5 stars if it had been a bigger place.
An amazing place to visit to see many varied species of butterflies. There are also giant moths, a scorpion and, much to my terror, a pair of spiders. It's an animal friendly place so dogs are allowed. Plus, the cafe is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Small but nice.
Very beautiful butterflies that sometimes sit on the hand can not be closer.
It is warm and humid here, so put it on!
It is definitely worth going there.
A beautiful place, there are many different types of butterflies to see here. The admission fee is a little high, but it is both worth it and fully understandable considering the costs of maintaining a sutable habitat for these colourful insects.
What a wonderful butterflies! You must to come here to see them!
