HORRIBLE Billing! I constantly give them my insurance and they just send me bills for services instead of my insurance and then send it to collections. I wish I could avoid them all together, but the local hospitals emergency physicians are all through this company.
This operations flows as a scam. MEP Schedule which is Madison Emergency Physicians gave this a like. We received no call nor mail from them until Americollect came with collection notice. In trying to verify the number listed for billing is a Foldria women who never answers her phone. We are waiting for someone to explain. Please whatever you do don't visit a hospital that does business with MEP!
The billing service they use sucks! The bill they sent had my log-on ID and password. Every time I tried I got "Invalid Registration Password!" message. My wife tried too, to no avail. We tried substituting ohs for zeros and every other possible combination of upper and lower case without success. The bill had a customer service number and said "OFFICE HOURS: 9:OOam - 6:00pm C.S.T." I called at 5:30pm C.S.T. and got a recording stating their office was closed and that their hours were 9:00am to 6:00pm eastern standard time. The hoops I had to jump through to pay a measly $28.33 Insurance co-pay were more painful than the condition that put me in the ER.
I also am very confused and upset by my experience with this company, who apparently forwarded my bill to Americollect. It came off to me as a scam, and I was not informed that there would be a separate bill by the ER nor my health insurance. Why was this not billed through my health insurance?
Worst billing company in creation! They give you two phone numbers. One is automated and you can't speak to anyone and that one is HIGHLIGHTED. The second listed as customer service is supposed to be so you can talk to a human because you were billed money you shouldn't have been! It just rings and rings! So I called Madison Emergency Physicians directly in Madison and got a 3rd number!!! Then I picked option 2 to speak to someone to pay my bill (which I had no intention of doing so because my insurance already paid the skunks!) and it put me on hold endlessly so I had to hang up. Con job company! I called my insurance and they said we already paid them. Tell them to call us since we won't be able to reach them either! What a bunch of crooks!
Yes - this billing is awful! It was unclear what I was paying for, and the attending doctor they had listed on my bill was a male - my daughter was seen by a female nurse and a female doctor. I had to call my insurance company to verify if the charges were even legitimate. On top of that, my daughter was misdiagnosed so we had to see our regular doctor when we returned from vacation anyway.
I sure hope the Physicians are a lot better in the emergency room then the company that employs them. received a bill on Dec.26th. 2020 for a service performed in July. After insurance paid their portion my share was $34.60. I sent a check out on Jan 3 2021 and check cleared on Jan. 8th. 2021. Just received notice from local collection co. threatening me if I don't send THEM the money. so is this another scam where they both bet paid????
